He has a tow truck come to pick up my car from my house (great! That's awesome I'm grateful) then I go later to pick up the car. That's when I get pissed off. See that the side of my car is scratched up so I ask the tire guy and the main guy Alfredo at gallo's and NO ONE knows nothing! So all within the same family of who does business with him and who he trusts messed up my vehicle!!!! Distraught to say the least! No ownership and no one gave a flying fuck. Will always talk down about this business now to everyone around the car scene. Worst experience and no one is taking responsibility. Might just have to hit them with a one two punch, lawsuit. He was so accommodating and helpful with getting work done same day. I needed to get hitch wiring done to connect my lights to my trailer and he made room on the lot for me to pull in with my trailer attached. He wasn't sure if he had the time but told me to come anyways. Within minutes of me coming he started working on my car because he knew I needed it done quick. His price was fair and similar to the other places nearby. They have two locations, I went to the one on Pacific for the work, but accidentally went to the one on Anaheim first. They were also incredible friendly and helpful, he even backed my car out of the lot because I'm not good with reversing a trailer. I found these guys on yelp as a last minute decision to getting my old 74 Dodge fixed up for a car show across the country. The owner had guys working long hours to get the truck done in time for my departure of my long road trip ahead. I couldn't have been happier to see the truck done and cleaned up in time. These guys are my go to's when I can't fix something myself. They work on show ready classics to modern day machines. From rebuilding old classic engines to replacing entire AC systems. The head honcho seems very knowledgeable and passionate about his career as a tech and owner of his shop. And they're conveniently located next to a tire shop I purchased new tires from last year. Fortunately I was able to redeem my living social deal before it got crazy like the reviewer below me said. I got ripped off at another place recently so I wanted to give this place a shot. This place is pretty unprofessional on three major counts: 1. There was only one guy working when I arrived and after 5 minutes of not being acknowledged, I finally had to go up to him and tell him I had an appointment. 2. They forgot to reset my oil percentage meter. It still said 60% when I checked it after the oil change. I went to go have lunch and for all I know, they could have just changed the sticker on my window. 3. A mechanic (very short young guy) asked if my car was a year 2001 or a 2010. WTF WTF WTF you're a freaking mechanic that freaking deals with cars all the freaking time! You're supposed to know what year my car is, or at least be able to know that it's not 10 years old! read more

Unlike the other reviews, I had more than an oil change done at Gallo. Yes the customer service is slow, but that is a small issue for me. I had both my cars serviced here. I had all my shocks replaced on one of them. I had to constantly take my car back because it wasn't right the first time. When my shocks were supposedly replaced, I left the car with them for an TWO WHOLE WEEKS and told them don't give it back until they test drove it and it did not feel like I'm 4-wheeling down city streets. After two weeks, my car still bottoms out today. My other car had good front end work done on it. However, they "outsourced" the alignment. When I took my car back to them because my wheel had to be held 90 degrees off, they took 3 more tries to realign the car. All of which were epic failures. The end result was me taking my car to discount tire after I drove it about 75 miles. I found my tire worn completely to the steel overnight. Discount tire said it was off by 1.5 degrees. 1.5!! They said it could have been done better with just a tape measure and that was the cause for my tire blowing out. All this was after leaving him a checklist for both cars, and 2.5 weeks to get the work done. I also wrote there to test drive each car before giving it back.We are busy people without time to lose our vehicles. If you want it done right the first time, don't go here. If you want anything more difficult than a grade school car repair, don't go here. Mr Gallo is a nice guy, but doesn't know how to run the business side of his job. He is fixing cars all the time while his other mechanics do poor work and nobody runs the paperwork, office, or supervises the work done by his mech's. If you're lucky enough to have his work or his dad's work done, you might come out with a good repair. But you also might come out with a "sure sure, that's done" and it's not. read more

Everyone here is so nice and eager to help. I bought a used car and two days later it wouldn't start I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out what was wrong and convinced I had bought a lemon.. the three other shops I called before Gallo were over-booked and one was even dismissive about my problem. But I talked to Alfredo Gallo and he was able to look at my car immediately. Aaaaaand it was just the battery. What a relief! But he picked up on my concern about the fact that I'd just bought this used car, so he took it upon himself to inspect it for me to ensure nothing else was wrong with the car. First off: Let me say that Alfredo (the owner) was very kind, well-spoken and determined there was nothing wrong with our car nor it's new battery and he recharged the battery and tested it. We were not charged for any services. The matter of accurate diagnosis is still questionable as our vehicle could not be started the following day and we will have to tow it once again. This time, We will be taking the vehicle to a Dealership for the repairs and diagnostic testing. Unfortunately, a local towing company who delivered our vehicle to this shop did in fact damage our vehicle while delivering to this mechanic's shop after hours. It has cost us an insurance claim and only after this Yelp review did the Tow truck driver come forward and confess his responsibility. The Driver from the Towing company has offered to pay for our out of pocket expenses to repair the damages to the body of the vehicle. It's unfortunate, because now the Dealership won't be able to run proper diagnostics and repairs until AFTER the body work is complete primarily because the damage caused by the Towing company will not allow our drivers side door to close. We now have needed to rent a car on top of everything else. read more

I've been going to Gallo Automotive for years now. I love that they are family owned. I've always received great service from them and have had none of the problems other reviewers have faced. Im always greeted with a smile when I arrive and they always take good care of me. Alfredo let me know when the Living Social deals came out and I purchased one. I've now used all three of my oil changes without problems and my deal came with a free filter which I received too. When I got the filter with the first oil change I did have to wait a little bit because they didn't have it in stock but it wasn't a huge inconvenience. read more

YELPERS BEWARE!! DO NOT!!!! I MEAN DO NOT GET CAR SERVICES HERE!!! This place is the worst!! By far worst place you can get car services !!! We went to get our spark plugs fixed and the very same day the check engine light went on. We called the owner to see if he can fix the check engine light he said he was going to give us a call back. The owner never called us back! We had to call him the next day and he never answered his phone. My husband had to drive to his shop just to get a response from him. He had us bring the car the next day and the owner said to bring it early around 7:00-8:00am. We brought our car 8:00am sharp and his shop wasn't even opened!!! The owners shop didn't even open until 9:00am!! He could have at least told us the time his shop opened he didn't even bother. We waited a whole hour for him to show up!! When we asked him why did our check engine light went on he replied back very rude and in the most annoying smart way "I don't know ?" We bit our tongues back from saying anything rude to him! We scared he was going to mess up our car or make things worse. The owner didn't even fix anything!! He left to his other shop and had two fat guys fix our car!! Our check engine light is still on and now our motor is making a weird noise. If there were negative stars I would give this owner and his shop -5 stars! read more

If I could I'd give 0 stars. Took my truck in for a tune-up and what didn't go wrong. When he returned my truck the service engine light was still on. His response was " oh, I forgot to erase it" how do you know the problem has been fixed without erasing the code after maintenance and a test drive. Next he ruined a gasket to the throttle since he pinched and forced it down with air intake by also ruining a prong. The job should've been done myself. That's what I get for being lazy. Okay never go here if you're getting an oil change. For my BMW 325i 2001, they were loosening the drain plug, and it broke in half. So they were telling me that I need to change the oil pan. They told me it costs around $200, $100 for labor and $100 for the oil pan. This was just a simple oil change they had to do. They told me that they didn't have the tools to fix it at all. Suggesting me to spend $200 ON THIS. It was only suppose to be $20 but become a much bigger problem. Had to tow my car to my house and get it fixed myself. Never get your oil change here please. Find someone you trust or do it yourself. Mechanics are hard to trust when you're only a young person and think we don't know anything. I just don't get your oil change here! If I can get less then a star I would! This place was the worse automobile mechanic I could have chosen. Took my car here so it can get fixed with one problem that was major. He calls me back and says I got plenty of leaks. I told him to fix it all. Payed 675, he had my car for 2-3 weeks. He never called me about my car. I had to always call. Even though he told me he would call and told me he would call when its ready. He had me wait after he said it was ready. I missed days off work cuz he said it would be ready in 2-3 days. && to top it off, it still didn't work!! Worse mechanic ever, never coming here again. read more

I bought living social deals one for myself and one as a gift. When I went to redeam my deal they wanted to charge me for extras like oil. I was on time for my appointment, they were not after 25 minutes they had a bill as the 1 person there did not know how to write up the bill. And still did not do it right. If you added up the amount of the deal and what they wanted to charge. The only deal was for them. At that point I wasn't sure I wanted them working on my car. The trully embarrassing part I asked my friend, 1 they charged him, 2 it took 2 hours, 3 they were not able to reset something that tells him when he needed to get the next oil change. He never went back to have the last 2 oil changes. YOU THINK. His was a very rare viechcle, 2009 Ford Explore. they did call Ford to find out how reset it. but they were never able to do it. the good news Living social refunded my deal since I did not use it, but not my gift deal I used the credit from the deal at a local restaurant and took my friend to lunch the food was very good and the service was great. read more

This shop gets my 100% support, They worked really hard on my BMW 3 series and never once complained. I know how hard it could be to find new parts for foreign cars and they searched and made phone calls to find a brand new cheap fuel pump for a 2012 BMW 3 series. They found the part in 30 minutes and i have to admit that i was really suprised at the price and in one hour the intire job was complete and i saved lots of money. They even threw in a complete oil change with new air filter and i havent had a problem out of my car sense. You would have to be insane not to try this place out espeacially if your looking for affordable reliable service i really appreciate these guys for their hard word and determination. This place is horrible. Like most people here i got the living social deal. They tried to rip me off charging me 45 dollars extra to remove a hose that was in the way!
