Easy to use, centrally located and they have multiple kinds of Trucks (Wardrobe, Food Prep, Super Cube, Camera, though no pre prepped ones like Apache) this place is a great place to go. They do get busy in the office, but be patient, they have a nice lounge area to sit or like a car wash, an outside sitting area. I think in one day I went 5 times to pick up 4 different trucks.... I rented a 15- pass van 2 days ago at Galpin Studio Rentals and not only did the rental go very smoothly, the van itself exceeded my expectations! I was thinking van, like a Church group van, you know, simple, white, plain with windows and the back that opens. Noooo! This van was tall, stylish and super comfortable! I have rented the shuttles in the past, which are fun. I drove over 10 hours and I felt great (albeit a tired at the end if the day). Let's just say, wine tasting will never be the same again! Back when I drove truck as a PA this was where we went, and now That I've moved up, I still rent from them regularly. Cube trucks, vans, everything in between. A staple of the film industry, they have a diverse truck and car selection, immense inventory and the best customer service in town, making this my ONLY call each time. Not only does Alma (or any of the other super-friendly customer service reps, for that matter) treat you like an old friend, she goes the extra mile to make sure your rental experience is smooth and enjoyable. This is in stark contrast to the other couple trucking vendors in town that basically treat you like they're doing you a favor when taking your reservation. I didn't even have a Galpin truck, but I had a 4 ton filled with production gear on a Friday night and was in a panic. Elba was my savior!!!! They were closed, but she apparently checks the phoneline, called my cell back and told me what to do to park my truck even though it was pilot season. These guys are great. Beware. I made an online reservation through their website on a Friday at 12:13p for a Monday morning rental. I was emailed a confirmation with all the details. When I showed up on Monday to pick up my van I was told my email confirmation wasn't really a confirmation, and that someone has to call me to confirm it. I guess 12:13 in the afternoon was too late in the day for the back office staff to check on. I called Avon Rentals from Galpin's lot and they were all too happy to help. Just sayin'. read more

I started as a Production Assistant renting trucks from Galpin 18+ years ago. I met Kim M. at the Valley Branch and she constantly provided an excellent rental experience. Now, when I'm scouting for locations I am confident that my rental car won't have any mechanical issues. The fleet of vehicles that they have is relatively young and dealer maintained. Oz (not his government name) is super friendly and fun to deal with as we all everyone else on staff! Not exactly impressed with this company. I vented a van and wanted to get full insurance which covers the rental van and 3rd party liability incase I caused an accident and it was my fault. However, Galpin doesn't provide liability insurance. Fair enough but it would have been nice of the woman at reception to tell me that if I pick up a van and I don't have previous liability insurance then there's no chance that an insurance company will give you a policy once the van has been picked up. Also: GAS $8 per gallon if the car needs filling up on return lol. Will be taking my business elsewhere, this company gives me bad vibes. read more
