Playable airsoft field with different elements for varying engagements. Lots of plywood rooms and "buildings" to hold positions, interesting obstacles such as cars, barrels, posts. Staffed by a bunch of dudes in their 20s and 30s who are more interested in staring at their phone or chatting with their fellow staff than to actually pay attention to the game they are supposed to be supervising as a referee. The safety briefing is a glorified slideshow that is not engaging in the slightest, you pretty much have to listen to one dude talking at a normal volume while in a room of 40+ others talking over him. They could use a megaphone or PA system to help. Many of us were confused about objectives, game modes, spawns, because the safety briefing sucks to listen to. They do not clean the field in between day and night sessions, with how many leftover bbs there were on the ground (i slipped and fell), id be surprised if they cleaned up weekly. The attached Evike outpost is nice as a shop staffed with knowledgeable and helpful employees, they have airsoft technicians to help you get your gear back up and running. I would increase my rating if they cleaned up more to lower the risk of injury due to slipping, and actually had engaging referees. I like playing here, even though i have to drive from hella far away. The areas needing improvement seem really obvious and easy to handle, i just want the place to be the best it can be. read more

I have been attending Gamepod for years. I have ALWAYS had a fun and safe experience there. For the first time, I came to their Friday night event, largely led by Rex. Most of it was similar to their daytime events, except the final round where they turned out the lights. I haven't played airsoft in the dark since Milsim Maritime on the Hornet! I would love to see them develop the arena more, but they are my go-to Airsoft venue, and will keep coming back! read more

Great staff at the store that are very helpful in getting your malfunctioning gear working again asap. The prices at the store are very reasonable. As for the actual gameplay, can't tell you how many birthday parties we've been to there. It always helps to have your own gear and weapon. I highly recommend it for teen birthdays. Don't know a single teen that didn't like it. On hot days, your mask protection may fog. We bought the exfog machine that isn't too expensive online that helps blow air into your mask to prevent fogging. Highly recommend for parties. I have seen younger kids in there that do have to have an adult with them. Kids are pretty respectable and tend not to shoot the younger kids. read more

After my cousin took me 2 Los Gatos @ Tsings Tao. Next day came 2 lala land. I'm not able 2 go back because now have my own family. I recently visited Gamepod and their Evike store and I can confidently say it's one of the best airsoft experiences I've had! The facility is top-notch, with a well-designed arena that offers a mix of open spaces and tactical cover, perfect for both fast-paced skirmishes and strategic gameplay. The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about airsoft, ensuring everyone had a safe and enjoyable time. They provided clear briefings and enforced safety protocols without being overbearing, which keptty made the day run smoothly. My only suggestion for improvement would be to make the team identification system more colorblind-friendly. The current use of colored armbands (red vs. green) can be hard to distinguish for colorblind players, especially in low-light areas of the arena. Switching to patterns, symbols, or high-contrast colors (like blue vs red) would make it easier for everyone to identify teams at a glance, improving accessibility without sacrificing gameplay. Great Field, But Safety Needs to Be a Bigger Priority I've been coming to GamePod Combat Zone in Antioch for a while now, and overall, it's been a great experience. Me and some of my family members play there regularly. We really enjoy the games, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful, especially when we were just getting into airsoft and had no clue where to start. But lately, it's been pretty clear that they're short-staffed. During games, there just aren't enough people on the field to keep things running smoothly or to make sure everyone's playing safe. It gets a little chaotic at times, and honestly, it doesn't always feel like the safest environment out there. I really hope they bring on more staff soon, because this place has a ton of potential but safety needs to be taken more seriously. read more

UPDATED Review (2024) I wrote a review a few months ago and would like to share some huge improvements this field has done over time. 1. The lighting has been drastically improved 2. Players can now pick the game modes 3. The referees now announce the winner at the end of each game 4. Spawn points are easily identified Now the one request I have for this field is to allow 3 one hour games before the hour lunch break OR 2 one hour games with 1 thirty minute game before the lunch break. I think this would make the quality of gameplay a lot more enjoyable for those who play half-day only. Hope this helped! read more

Overall this place is pretty sweet! I give it a three star ratings for a few reasons: 1: like many of the reviews, the staff could just be better. For the most part they are reasonably accommodating, but they can be quite rude and condescending at times. A little bit of manners would go a long way for them. 2: It's interesting to me the rules they choose to enforce and the other they completely ignore. For one, they attempt to make everyone crono, but they don't check it or enforce it on the field, often I see a large number of players not crono and go out on the field and play, some of these people are shooting HPA's and their guns are definitely shooting hot, I have had BB's easily break the skin through clothing. Layer up! 3: This is the big one. I play at several venues and I would say this facility by far has the worst reputation for not calling their hits. The staff seldomly is paying close enough attention to see the infractions and enforce and often takes people to get into an altercation before the ref's intervene. These things won't deter me or shouldn't for you from playing there, but you have to know what to expect when you go. I just wish they could tighten up a little and this facility could live up to a huge potential to be a premier venue on the west coast and even a destination for people far away. read more

Gamepod Combat Zone has a really good layout, well-designed field, and friendly, professional staff. The environment is solid and the current staff is great. However, the biggest issue is the lack of referees on the field. With more players, it's important to have enough refs to keep the games fair and safe. Been coming here for years. Place looks great with much potential. Issue is the staff. Most look like they're half sleep or high. They spend more time on their phones then managing the games. Games seem boring and outdated, most of the time is just free for all. Anyone can bring a 500fps and no fucks are given. Someone needs to get hurt/ sue and maybe they'll fix it. The location is great, the field is great, most of the players are great. The thing that I and all the other reviewers seem to agree on being just awful is the staff. I couldn't find a more ineffective, absent, apathetic, and just downright grouchy group of employees if I tried. Most of the rules are never enforced; including chrono and bb weight restrictions, which really speaks to the amount of fucks they give about player safety. Field doesn't change but it's big enough to try different things. It'll get old if you go too regularly. Most players are enjoyable to work and hang out with. Plenty of new players to help and teach if you're about it. I'm uncertain about the referee quality. They definitely need to improve on audio quality either they're mumbling or the echo is deafening during safety and scenario brief. I think only a couple refs actually perch up or move around the game. A couple others just sit near the exit. However they are helpful if you need a case by case explanation. As someone who didn't like how I shot into a building with a 350fps...whatever. Day games on weekends are pretty big. If you want smaller crowds look to evening games. read more

Fun game place. Sometimes the crowd might have some scumbags. Couple kids ~13 years or so were sitting at the corner table closer to the door (airsoft test entrance) left by their father alone. They were throwing BBs on an adult head who was sitting waiting for his son in the center area. They hit his head multiple times from the back. All this in the staging area. The man was looking at them and they were smiling and pretending nothing is happening. They were also taking a video and laughing. The man knew them. He waited until their father showed up and told him. The father took his two scumbags and left because he is a scumbag. He did not ensure to delete the videos or even apologized for his two sons pathetic conduct. I wish the man called the police and had them both arrested. This incident was on October 1st, 2022 toward the pick up time of the night operation. That is around 8:30-9 pm. These two kids left with their father unpunished. I am sure they will do more serious crime as they grow if they are willing to through BB on a middle age man head, take a video of it and laugh about it. There is no security cameras in the staging area to pick these a-holes. I was pissed off yo see this reckless dangerous act in the staging area. read more

I have been going to GP for years. This is the field where I learned how to play Airsoft and how to play as a sportsman. The staff has always been courteous and fun loving. It is a very relaxed atmosphere generally. I have never had any serious issues here, and those I have witnessed have been dealt with promptly and professionally. The arena is huge and has been getting better and better each year. With the new addition of the EVIKE outlet, which is worth the trip alone, and the new second story making it possible for spectators to enjoy the show; Gamepod continues to prove itself as the #1 Airsoft field in NorCal. There is a reason people come from all over the country to play here. I have met and made a lot of friends here at Gamepod as well as made many a memory. It is a great place to learn to play, and a better place to call home. My team has enjoyed years of having BBQ's and swap meets here at GP without incident all while building camaraderie and furthering the sport. If you make the trip to see the field, play a few games, meet up with friends, or merely want to see the field and have a few questions answered, I highly recommend Gamepod Combat Zone. read more

I've been playing at Gamepod since shortly after it opened. I've seen the field grow and change, I've seen players grow up playing there. I've made friends with both staff and players. The field is a great place to get play airsoft or to get started playing. The games are challenging but fun. The Friday Night/ Saturday Night games are a nice challenge for those who have been playing for some time. I finally got to play my first Saturday Night game a few weeks back and it was amazing! Pros: -A great field. feels kind of like playing in your neighborhood at night. -Generally a great group of players, though like every field, you get a few bad eggs. -When its raining outside, its dry inside -Staff is on top of things and very approachable. While they seem to run things a little loose, they are on top of the serious issues. Cons: -Since it's such a large and intense field, its difficult for the refs to watch everyone every second, but this is an issue all fields have so not much to be done about it but make sure everyone on your team is playing honorably. -While the field is quite large, largest indoor field in the US I think, sometimes the game types feel the same. It sometimes feels like both sides get mired down in the same areas. But since the field is so large, its easy to move away from those spots and find other places to get into the action. read more

The places set up is real nice. I enjoyed myself until i was kicked out for my first offense. First game in, was past the safety zone and made an attempt to drop my mag but accidently pulled the trigger, all though my gun was aimed at the ground and it was my very first time there, without any second chance or warning i was told that i had to leave for the day.. That right there i think was handled poorly!! I felt robbed, not only that but i cane down crom Sacramento just so i can join my brither and his group.... Smh read more

Ok let's jump into this. This is now this is my third time at this place and here are my thoughts on this airsoft place. One this palace is big! That is the best part of this place and the people who attend are fun to play with! And some of the staff where very help full. But I i want to say thank you to the cool host when we went our second time their. He is a African American gentleman who you could tell he really loves what he does. Now for the bad, and it truly shows that the people you hire make the difference . Their is a heavier set guy, who wears glasses. And I hate that he either acts like he does not give a sh!t about what he does or he feels he is too good for what he does. Every time he gives instructions he mumbled the whole time. Every new round we start no one knows what is going on. He has no energy, no life, and it suck's hard. People want someone who is gets them hyped up before they go to war! He even has a dam mic and is hard to hear him. So hear this. Pick your self up or get out. No one wants a sh!t host. Or better yet if you can't hand too do the night game. Don't do it. I frequent this establishment, due to necessity. Customer service for the game pod side of the facility is lacking if not totally lost on a few staff members. Rarely do they greet me with any semblance of a friendly demeanor, and most of them have forgot that they work with "toy" guns. Had a staff member yell at me several time when I asked a question. (Like I said they play with toy guns all day it appeared to have given him some sort of complex, I was glad to make a correction for him.) If you love airsoft and are in the area this site great, but don't expect much from the game pod side. Took my friend also and when his rental weapon was not working, he was told "I'm sorry" no replacement, no refund.
