I had an extremely disappointing experience with GameStop's handling of my Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions Poster Collection pre-order. Back in early May, I pre-ordered two copies for $40 each using my Pro membership. About a week later, I decided to pre-order two more--the maximum allowed. By then, the price had increased to $45 each, which I accepted without complaint. The original release date was May 22nd. I went to the midnight release only to find out the product had been delayed until June 6th. While I was there, I purchased two ETBs for $90 each. but didn't even receive the advertised store promo card. When June 6 arrived, the product was delayed again, this time until July 1st. I made multiple trips to the store only to be told it had been pushed back again. I left for vacation on July 1st before the shipment arrived, still. On July 2nd, I called the store after they confirmed my pre-order was available on July 3rd. I explained that I was out of town and would pick it up when I returned. At no point during that phone call--or during any of my previous visits--did anyone mention there was a 48-hour pickup deadline or that I would be charged a higher price if I couldn't make it in immediately. If told this, I had friends/family that could have easily secured my order. When I finally returned to the store, I was told I had to pay the difference between my fully paid pre-order price and the current price. The store was now charging $60 each, meaning they expected me to pay an additional $18 per copy, despite the delay being entirely outside of my control and despite never informing me of this policy. An employee named Matt called the manager and spoke with them for about 10 minutes, but the manager refused to honor the price I had already paid. At that point, I canceled every pre-order I had with GameStop. To make matters worse, the current market price on TCGPlayer, local card shops, and card shows is around $41 per box, yet GameStop wanted $60. This wasn't just about the money--it was about poor communication and customer service. After multiple delays, multiple trips to the store, and a phone call where I specifically explained my situation, I expected GameStop to stand behind a fully paid pre-order. Instead, I was treated like the inconvenience was my fault. I will never buy anything from GameStop again. read more

Had purchased a 2 year warranty on a brand new Xbox controller and when I went to exchange for a new one, they gave me a pre-owned controller, the box had stated that it was "cleaned", "tested and approved but after further inspection the controller had sticky buttons and the motherboard had what looked to be soda covering it and the base of the buttons. It's a bummer they couldn't honor their warranty with a new controller after paying a total of $80 for the original controller and warranty. The controller is faulty and doesn't even work properly and is unusable. Too bad yelp only lets me post a 12 second clip. read more

Just bought an elite series 2 controller today at 11 am and wanted to return the same day 5pm (SAME DAY) but they did not accept it. I wanted to return it because I found a better one at Best Buy. Idk what this company is doing for return policies but that has to be the dumbest one I have ever heard. The cashier wasn't very cool about it either pretty snappy so this blows now I have a $180 controller for no reason. Nice business GameStop read more

This place is a joke. They told me I did not have a warranty on a head set that I had bought there 5 months ago even though I bought one. Then some employee told me I was scummy for trying to sell the broken head set back.... i thought they took broken items to fix... my mistake guess that makes me scummy. And somebody else obviously screwed up 5 months ago not entering in my warranty or maybe they pocketed the $10 themselves wouldn't be surprised. Don't go hear just go to walmart. read more

It's really sad to see how much GameStop has gone downhill. This store used to be AWESOME! Offering a great amount of games and at good prices. Recently however, they rip you off, they have "save money" deals when you aren't even saving any money and making you wait way too long. They also told me I had an unfinished trade in at another GameStop and that one said I didn't. Don't be surprised if they go out of business in the 2020s. read more

I need to share an extraordinarily negative experience that I had with this store and one of it's employees. Fellow by the name of Kevin was my cashier, seemed like a good guy. I came in to trade in my ancient model xbox360 in the hopes of purchasing the coveted xbox one with what I could get in trade... I put forth my old games, saving a few for the backwards compatibility updates. When we got to my console, he told me he could get me more money for the components alone and that he could dispose of the core system himself... what a nice guy right? It wasn't until later on the next few days I began getting charges to my xboxlive account. whoever was using my account was purchasing old 360 games and messaging my friends telling them to extort me for $250 or the purchases would continue. I did my research and the same xbox 360 console that my "friend" Kevin had been so eager to "dispose of" had been reactivated at an IP address in the greater manchester area... I have since filed a police report with the Amherst PD. I gave them all of the information I had, including IP addresses, evidence of stolen funds and a listing of the digital items stolen, including the name of one very curious Gamestop employee named Kevin, who when I now look back and reflect on our dealings, was acting in a rather shady way... I have purchased 1 console from this location including numerous games, I have also used Gamestop exclusively as a company in the past; purchasing two consoles and games in the past few months. Regardless of whether my suspicions are correct or not, my trust in this Gamestop and others has truly been shaken, and I will not be doing business with them again... Buyer beware. read more

Employees are knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to help. They won't hesitate to offer help when I come in, and if they don't have a game in stock, they will often check if it is in stock at another Gamestop. This location in particular has a nice selection of non-game merchandise (apparel, collectibles, etc.) which is what I go there for most of the time. I always have a pleasant time when I stop in. read more

Well I usually don't write on here but I would like to tell about the terrible service I had. I called up on the phone to get some information and spoke to a lady by the name of Leah and she had a attitude on the phone like I was bothering her by calling. I was trying to get info on games I wanted to turn in towards a network adapter for my 360.went to the store and when I got there she looked at my games in total disgust.so she told me the price of my games for trade in and then I asked to use the phone to call my wife to see what she wanted me to do. And it was like I was asking for something that I shouldn't have. So after debating what to do I got the item brought it home and it does not work the way I was hoping. Now I need to return it and probably won't be able to. So now I traded my games and probably will only be able to trade it back to them and probably will get very low money. read more
