They also have HO, of course, but usually no one stocks N scale items. HUGE selection of cars and locomotives. Also buildings and vehicles. There is one isle of model car kits, and it is usually well stocked. The paint and supply section is also usually well stocked. Prices are a bit high, but when you think about it, this is a brick-and-mortar building and you are not paying shipping. So it is up to you if you want to pay their prices. After attempting to place an online order through the website but having it come up with errors or not go through multiple times, I thought I'd go in-person and ask about possibly placing the order through the store to pick-up the items another day. The cashier was extremely polite and was happy to help, she wasn't sure of how to fill out some information for the ordering process so she asked for the store manager to come over. After 15 minutes of waiting, the manager strolls over without a greeting and immediately starts by curtly asking if I've tried to order through the website in an irritated manner. I inform her of the issue I was experiencing and offer the item numbers and other information and ask if there are any alternative methods to place the order. Rudely she remarks "No I don't do that, I can't help you press buttons any better." and disregards the rest of my explanation. After seeing this exchange will not be of any use, I thank the manager and cashier for their help and wish them a good night. Before I can finish my sentence, the manager turns and walks away without a word. The cashier and a few other employees walking around the store were all very friendly and I am very appreciative of their help. But that was by far one of the worst customer service experiences with a store manager I've ever had.

Extraordinary selection of dollhouse miniatures -- the kind of shop that has every item of 1:12…read more(standard dollhouse scale) furniture and accessory imaginable, plus some 1:24 (half-scale) and 1:48 (quarter-scale). The selection is amazing, mind-boggling, earth-shaking... and that's just the clearance table. The clearance table is my new best friend. Earth and Tree sells their own line of dollhouses (Tom's Mill), which are shells that you then buy doors and windows for separately (thus, they have a fantastic selection of doors and windows!). These are high-quality kits that include a wide range of designs, including some half-scale and quarter-scale versions. There is a half-scale modern house! If you're buying a house, check their web site and budget appropriately -- the prices are quite reasonable for heirloom-quality and that's the mindset you need to be in. Furniture and accessories are at a range of price points, something for everyone. Staff was super-nice, which is a delightful surprise, as I don't do big spends (I rehab thrift store houses). Amherst is on a gorgeous drive from Manchester to Brattleboro and well worth a stop.
