I don't understand all the hate on here for this store. I went in today to buy the Animal Crossing New Horizons Official Companion Guide and was pleasantly greeted not even 5 steps into the store. Steven helped me locate the last copy they had in stock right away. He made lots of great suggestions and helped me trade in an old Xbox 360 game I had. The whole transaction was quick and seamless. He was very knowledgeable and I appreciated his help and suggestions. I also got the guide for a great price. These sold out on Amazon, and the only ones left are being sold by scalpers for $50-$80+ when they retail for only $29.99. I got $10 off for my trade in and walked out only paying $22.54. Overall I had a great experience. I'll definitely be back to this location. I highly recommend this store! read more

I don't understand all the hate this GameStop is getting here on Yelp. Every time I've come into this particular store, the employees have been helpful and informative, even when they're super busy. I'm actually writing this at their launch party for Borderlands 3, and they've got things proceeding in a completely orderly fashion with only three employees working tonight. It helps that the small crowd is being very patient, but I imagine events like this can rough, but things are organized and well-thought out, and I'm very impressed. It's the only option in town for new games, but they're good at what they do. read more

Over the years I have spent a lot of time at our local GameStop. The selection is generally good, though it is looking a little cluttered lately. The rope lines stir you past these garage sale looking bins with miscellaneous stuff in them. Tacky, but the rest of the store still looks good. The staff keeps up to date on the latest games and are more than willing to go above and beyond to answer questions. When I think of some of the random questions myself or my kids have given them over the years, I am shocked they have always been able to answer them. I have shown up to a few of the GateStop exclusive events (usually Sky Lander related). Those events are usually crowded so there is a great local following and people other than myself obviously love the store. Over the years I think I have had to return two or three items for exchange. Each time it was painless. It makes me wonder why so many others seems to have issues with that. read more

Went to purchase the Switch with Zelda Breath of the Wild. Asked if there was any chance of even a slight discount on the game at a same time purchase of a $300 console. Was told no. Instead I am purchasing the same game and console through Target who have a 50% off a game with console deal. I would have been happy with even 10% off. This is the same concept as to why I bought my PS4 through other stores. Let's not even get into there new game refund policy.... No longer buying games and consoles through Gamestop. Ebay, Target, Walmart, and Gamefly all have better prices and deals than Gamestop. read more

Game selection is decent. Prices of the games are pretty expensive but what do you expect from a gamestop. Customer service is either really good or really bad, depending on the clerk. The main reason this place loses 2 stars is because of their low number of midnight releases. read more

Gamestop, shall I ever outgrow thee? Nowadays, with online purchasing, it's just so much easier to not make the trip to the mall and browse the games. But when it comes to pre-owned games, Gamestop is king. I really hate paying for a game and saying, "Wow, this sucks so bad I can't play another minute of it." If you bought it pre-owned and it's been less than seven days, take it back, get something else, no prob. Or... "Wow, this game was so great, I'm going to beat it in less than 7 days, then never play it again." Take it back! Put the money towards something else :) read more

Why is it every time I go to this store, I stand in line and get ignored while it takes 2 employees to help one person??! It's bad service.

One star is generous. Let me tell you why. My grandson pre-purchased a battlefield game with his allowance. The store called me around 3:00 and said they were calling to inform us that the game was in and it can be picked up with valid identification. I met my grandson at GameStop to pick the game up around 6:30 pm. The guy says "oh we can't release the game to you until 8:00 pm! " I said then why did you call me to pick it up? No one said we had to wait until 8:00! I reminded him that they called me to pick it up so here we are and that the item was paid in full. I was then informed that they could give us a receipt for the item but we would have to return to the store by 8:00 pm to get the game. However, if we did not return by 8:00 we would loose our money and the game!! Needless to say I and my grandson were stunned. Our option we're to return after 8:00 or the following day or receive a receipt and return by 8 or loose the game and our money. Wtf! Makes no sense! Nothing we said mattered. So this innocent young man was seduced under false premises to "pre pay in full" for an item then forced to jump through game stop hoops to get it is insane, dishonest, and a gimmick to take advantage of consumers. No forms or rules were signed or shown to him at the time of purchase. I will be filling a consumer protection complaint! You can't take someone's money and then say but you can't have the item unless you arrive promptly at 8:00 pm! This is not over GameStop! read more

Traded in a couple games and got a "credit" for 27 bucks. Tried to redeem my credit to no avail. Multiple phone calls and no results, even though they acknowledged I had a credit. Tried to buy a couple of games today, but after waiting 15 minutes to check out, I gave up left. read more

Great store. The selection of used games is OK, but it's a small town so you kind of expect that. The staff is amazing, though. They are always super friendly, knowledgeable about the games, and don't pressure you to buy something - they will often just chat with me about different games. When I was looking for a new headset a few months ago I asked one of the employees (Sean) for his advice about a headset and he recommended a great one - it wasn't the most expensive one, either. Didn't feel like he was just trying to make a sale, either. To help underscore how awesome the staff is, I've had multiple staff members warn me about how a game I'm purchasing has gotten bad ratings, talk to me about it, and check to see if I still want to buy it! Not just a "get them in, make a sale, and get them out" attitude. They seem to really want to make sure that the customer is happy with their games. The prices are what you would expect - they seem standard for used game stores, even in other, larger cities. The staff is also very organized with midnight launches, or on launch days. I went to the midnight launch for the last COD game and even though there were about 100 people in line in front of me I made it in and out of the store in less than 15 minutes! It's the same way on launch days - they move the lines quickly. This store provides a great experience for gamers, and I'm a dedicated customer because of the level of service that they provide. read more

I have shopped at this store for 8 years. I have had wonderful customer service in the past. The last year their customer service has made a big decline. I am so disappointed with this store that I will order online from now on. I was put on hold three times for a total time of 1 hour....I had 2 questions that they could not help me with because they had people in store...understandable if not for the fact that in about one hour they could have helped this customer with 2 questions. While in store have had to wait a number of times while employees have just stood there stocking while nobody else can greet or help the customer waiting to pay for their items. They are the most rude and unorganized set of employees I have ever experienced with Game Stop. I called to ask the store number and manager name after spending that hour I can not get back and was again asked to be put on hold...I said no please just give me the info...he was hesitant and until I told him I was on hold with there district office giving them their information...he rattled off the information need quick like. read more
