1 month ago, Associate Ruben at store # 06075/02 20th East and AVenue J, in Lancaster, made the exception for me and my girlfriend for me to be able to pick up both of our 2 Ultra premium collections charizard boxes (2 for me and 2 for my girlfriend) we both purchased them as separate people, we both used our power rewards accounts, our credit cards and different addresses (2 boxes per customer) and that is how we did it. I explained Ruben that the day of Release of this product (Friday OCTOBER 28th) my girlfriend Hema would be working out of town and if it would be possible for me to pick up my 2 boxes and her 2 boxes as well, he expressed that it was perfectly fine and made a note in the system stating that the day of release I would pick up both boxes. He called me 3 days before release to verify (again) that i would be doing that and also to let me know that Game stop was going to be able to fullfill both orders (4 boxes). I got there today, and Ruben wasn't there, it was Store LEAD Thomas (employee # 520014), who stated that my girl friend HEMA had to be present with her ID to pick up her 2 boxes, after I was clearly made the exception and promise that I would be able to pick up her boxes besides mines. Thomas said "I am the store lead and you cannot, regardless of what Ruben told you, it's 2 per person and she needs to be here" I said this is ridiculous then why did Ruben make that exception for me? "he said he didn't know" It was a very sour moment due to the fact that there was a lot of people in the store waiting and everyone whitnessed how rude Thomas was with his "Manager Backbone attitude" I am a long time customer of Game stop and i have been shopping at that location for more than 15 years. I am still waiting for a District MAnager to contact Thomas and tell him to give me my girl friend's boxes (WHICH ARE ALREADY PAID FOR AND PROMISED TO ME) and he did not want to give them to me. I am extremely upset, there is definitely miss communication between thomas and the other associates since he isn't providing the correct training and telling his employees to not make those promises and exceptions to customers. read more

Do not purchase the warranty. They make it seem as if any normal damage(no abuse or misuse) internal or external you would just BRING IT BACK for a replacement but actually, it only covers internal/electrical issues. Our joystick became loose after a few months of playing and when we tried to exchange for another one they gave us the song and dance why they couldn't. They take your money with ease for the warranty but when it's time to honor it, every excuse in the book. read more

I received a DLC for Christmas. Unfortunately, it was the season pass for Borderlands 2 and I needed it for Borderlands: The Pre Sequel. The purchase was recommended by an associate. I have no idea why he would suggest a DLC for a game that is over 2 years old and think nothing of the one that was released a mere 3 months ago but whatever, not a big deal I'll just exchange it, right? Wrong. They don't do exchanges for digital games. Which I understand why this would be problematic, they don't want people cheating the system by using codes and refunding/exchanging. Completely understandable. However, they should have a way of seeing whether or not the code has been used. I already have this game and have no use for it, I'm not looking for a refund, just a simple exchange. I went to the store and the associate said that they cannot exchange/refund. So I called corporate to see if they have any further advice. I waited for over an hour on the phone. Finally a woman answered who talked in a circle until I finally asked for a supervisor. I got put on a short hold and then I was connected to a supervisor who immediately had an attitude with me. He informed me that this isn't something he can handle, a district manager would have to take it from there. He got my information and assured me multiple times that I would be contacted by a district manager by the end of the week. End of the week approaches and I have yet to hear from anyone so I called corporate again. AN HOUR AND A HALF ON HOLD for a second time. Another woman talked in circles, going so far as to say a district manager may or may not contact me by Monday. I didn't think that was fair at all considering I was originally assured I would hear from one by Friday so I requested a supervisor again. This supervisor was MUCH nicer than the first. She looked into my situation and discovered the dirtbag supervisor from before didn't bother passing my information to a district manager whatsoever. Because of this she decided to give me a gift card for the amount of the DLC I had received for Christmas. I just attempted to use the gift card to purchase the correct DLC but there is a balance of $0... I'm currently on hold with corporate for a third time and have been waiting for over 40 minutes. I've heard nothing but nightmares regarding GameStop and I've finally experienced one myself. Avoid them like the plague if you know what's good for you. **UPDATE** After I waited on hold for over an hour, the guy asked for the gift card number. He checked the balance and told me the money was on there. I then double checked and confirmed it was in fact on there. We both had a good laugh over the fact I waited on hold for over an hour for nothing. I ultimately ended up with the correct DLC. Shoutout to Iris, the supervisor who came through for me. However, this has no effect on my rating, the one star still remains for having to go through the whole ordeal in the first place. read more

Today at 10am I came in to see if they could help me with my sons psp3 game it was over heating. Brandon I believe was his name seemed annoyed and didn't want to help me. I had to ask him over a few times to help then finally plugged it in. He said it was working when I got home I had the same issue anyways as I was talking to him I told him I need to purchase a game controller and turn in the one my son had. He kept disappearing and helping other customers as he told me the two other cash registers won't work and I had to wait for Natalie to finish my purchasing transaction and she had her own customers to help. Today at 6:30pm I went to gamestop to check out games. I had my 3 year old son with me has we entered the store my son threw up I didn't know this was going to happened of course I got paper towels and cleaned up the mess but has I was cleaning up the two workers there were laughing and joking about my son incident. This never had happened to me but two adult male making fun of a 3 year old child for throwing up at their store isn't professional at all also there was a customer there too and he was laughing along as well, I was done cleaning up and as I was leaving they were still laughing and joking about it. FIRST TIME coming to this GameStop and it wasn't a rather good experience.. First of all, they didn't have the game I was looking for but I'm not surprised considering the store looked like it was UNDERSTOCKED. The associates there looked like they didn't like their job nor were they of much help. The location itself looks a bit SHADY with some weird ppl loitering around which did make me feel a bit uncomfortable. And when I asked if there were any other GameStop around that might have the game and directions to where, they were ambiguous with their answers which honestly means they don't care.. This store does not answer their phone. They have it automatically go to a busy message in 2 to 3 rings. I have tried for 10 days to get in touch with them and I still have not spoke to anyone. I filed a complaint with corporate and asked the district manager to call me back. They should work somewhere else if they don't want to talk to the public. This manager and team suck. Don't go to this store. Go to the one near chucky cheese, those folks are awesome. i call on black friday so they can put a game on hold for me . they promise me they would , half an hour later i was there i waited on line for 45 minutes just so they can tell me that they sold the game they promise me to put on hold . i ask to speak to the supervisor and he was the one who lie to me by putting the game on hold and told me he could not do anything about it .. at the end his customer service is super poor plus he does not care about customer . i hope they change personal soon or they would go out of bussiness . read more
