I've been here a handful of times, they always have a great selection of items and usually very friendly employees, but I did have a poor experience today, 1/22/2026. I went in with my boyfriend after we had lunch and was browsing when I saw a figurine I knew a friend of mine was looking for. The price tag on the back **in the spot where the tag is** said $15. I thought it was a great deal, but held onto it a bit and further browsed. Said employee that gave us a hard time saw me pick it up and walk around with it for about 10 minutes, he was standing pretty close to the door. I went to check out and as I was being rung up by a separate very sweet employee, the one standing by the door told him to charge me $50 for the figure. The employee at the register asked him again if he really wanted to charge $50, and told him it was marked as $15. The other employee said it shouldn't have been marked that way. The employee at the register tried to honor the price, but the other employee said it would be $50. I bought the figure regardless, but changing the price after mid transaction, and after he saw me walking around holding it was pretty lame and fucked up. Not sure if I'll come back knowing the price can change on a product mid transaction. ALSO** I looked for this figure online and found the exact same one for $25. Double the price lmao. read more

They have all these old school consoles and current consoles will consider browsing your kids a little something that we used to play when we were younger. Disgustingly overpriced. I've seen certain titles out in the wild for half the price of what they charge. They had a loose disk of Zelda Twilight Princess for gamecube and were charging 150 for it. It didn't include the original game box OR manual. Just a flimsy box and printout of the game title. Crazy to sell at that price for a game that isn't even complete. Other games being marked up for 200 where you can find it for 75 elsewhere if you wanted. read more

Was gifted a GBA SP for birthday recently and decided I needed some games for it. Saw this place on maps as it is local and didn't want to drive very far. Stopped in and found a few games I liked. Prices were very comparable to listings out there. A week later one of the games kept having reading issues. Nothing serious but did bug me. Went back to return it and check out something else. The guy made it very easy. No hard time or hassle, he also just even swapped it for another game I was interested in. 5 stars for this place. Shoutout to the guys who helped both times. My nephew's Switch recently stopped working. I stopped by to get an estimate to fix it. The technician was already gone for the day. I was able to leave the Switch with my information for it to be looked at the next day. The next day, I received a call to let me know the results of the evaluation. The technician let me know that the Switch was not repairable. The joycons were repairable. He provided an estimate and fixed the joycons for me. The joycons were ready later in the day. When I came to pay and pick the joycons up, I saw that they had an Animal Crossing Switch. I decided to purchase it and surprise my nephew. The Switch was in perfect condition. I wouldn't have been able to tell if it was used if it wasn't for the open box. The console and accessories were still wrapped. I paid a total of $280 for the joycon repair, a pink Yoshi plush, and the Animal Crossing Switch. Aside from technical repairs, games, and consoles, they also have frames, a Pokémon case, a figure case, and a plush wall. My nephew loves his Animal Crossing Switch. Thank you for the excellent customer service. I'm looking forward to visiting the store more often! read more

Our PlayStation 4 controller was not working correctly and we were in the middle of Fallout 4 so we saw they were open and asked if they had a controller - they did!! And not expensive ^_^ so we got it and he checked it before we took it home and sadly I wouldn't sink up ... So we took it back and he happily exchanged it and we took it home ... Story time. Checked out this store today. Walked in and wasn't greeted or anything which is fine, store wasn't busy at all. Not once was I ever asked if I needed help or have any questions, keep that in mind. So, I was looking for any old 'Simpsons' games I can find. Wanted to ask the girl behind the counter if they had anything but she was tending to a couple. And I kid you not, they kept talking and talking about random things. Looking back now, this should have been the sign to walk out. But I kept buying my time. I kept looking around and I ended up seeing 'The Simpsons Hit & Run' game behind the open counter on the floor and I picked it up. No disc inside but I was hoping they had the disc. Figure they have the empty cases everywhere and if you decide to buy it, they give you the disc. By this time more people entered the store and that couple FINALLY left. The girl then tended to other customers and at this point I'm getting irritated that I've been pacing around and not once was asked if I needed help, should've left but I had to ask since I found the case. She looked my way and I finally went up and asked if they have any 'Simpsons' games available because I found the case which I showed her. She asked if I found the case behind the counter. I said 'yes' and her response was 'uh... customers aren't allowed behind the counter'. My mind: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Case was on the floor and you were too busy talking about nonsense with that couple AND NOT ONCE DID YOU ASK IF I NEEDED HELP! Plus, I'm showing you what I found and wanted to know if you had the disc. After she said that though, I ended up laughing to myself and saying 'well I didn't know how long you were going to keep talking to that couple...', but she talked over me, not listening to me and was saying how the games behind the counter (on the floor) are just cases with no disc inside. I asked if they had a database inventory showing if they have anything Simpsons and she's like 'yeah... no, we don't have anything. Those games usually sells out.' I laughed and said 'ok' and walked out. Her tone changed and said 'have a nice day'. I said 'you too' sarcastically. Waste of time. Seeing the other bad reviews about how the customer service is here, clearly tells you something. I hope whoever reads this has a better customer service experience than I did. Idk if this place got new management or something but my recent experience wasn't very pleasant... to say the least. Guy behind the counter wasn't very friendly. Seemed kind of annoyed with everything like he didn't want to be there. Wanted to do a trade in on a retro console, and got an extremely low balled offer even though it was in near perfect condition. Times have definitely changed. Been going to 1UP for years and I've usually always had a great experience. The store's layout changed as well which makes it slightly harder to navigate. Prices are also way higher than they were just a few months ago. Lots of games 10+ years old being sold at for their original retail price / games worth less than $20 are being sold for $50... I even saw cheap Amazon stickers that you can buy in bulk being sold for like $5 bucks a piece. Idk if I'll go back after this recent visit. It felt like being in a place that no longer cares about their customers' loyalty / experience and only cares about up-charging them and making a quick buck. It's sad really. Place feels cold and unfriendly now. Will no longer be recommending this place as my #1 retro game spot. Never thought I'd have to write a review like this but I had to share. And this is coming from a long time customer (5+ years of loyalty). Do better 1UP games. read more

Went in to sell my old game console and video games and it was disappointing. I expected if I offered about the price they would sell the items for they'd markdown the price by 30-50% as it's a business and we both need to make money. The offer I got was about 70% less what I was asking, and come to find out they were selling the same console (in worse condition) for about 30% more. But that's capitalism, I can't be mad but I also can't recommend selling here and because of the ludicrous markup even buying here. read more
