Gamestop has become such a disappointment. i brought a brand new copy of minecraft for my son and went to return the game. the game itself was never opened and still in the package and i was told they can't take a sealed game. they then said they could do a return on the game if the could find the purchase on my account. gave them the same phone number i used at checkout only to be told they don't see my order on my account. what was the point of using my account to purchase it then? this is why no one shops at gamestop and i hope this location is part of the mass closures next yr and all the crappy employees get laid off. $35 i won't be getting back. i've never heard of not being able to take a sealed game but if i brought it in open i would have been offered $10 so they can resale it for $25-$30 read more

The refurbished PS3 I got started giving me problems almost immediately. I returned it and got a pre-owned, which has been running fine so far. When I bought the refurbished unit a week ago, it was $20 more than a pre-owned of the same type. However, when I exchanged it for the same pre-owned, instead of a $20 credit the clerk just made an even exchange. I didn't want to get into it because my son was getting cranky, but I suspect I was gamed out of that $20 because the clerk was poking around the computer for what seemed like an inordinately long time. Ah well, such is the cost of gaming bliss? I still like GS but the last encounter makes me feel that their refurbishments aren't reliable, and their sales may be sketchy sometimes too. read more

Employees don't know anything about anything. Went in yesterday to get a switch pro controller. Guy says they don't have any but this cheaper one by Nintendo is the same thing. Me not using my head says ok and buys it. Can't remap buttons. Go back today to exchange as I saw on the internet the pro controllers can remap buttons. Walk in the guy tells me he has 4 switch pro controllers and can't remap buttons. I walk out and look it up for myself. Walk back in to buy it bc the internet shows it can clearly remap buttons. Turns out they have plenty of used ones that apparently magically appeared in a day? Get home and what do you know, it can remap buttons. If you don't know then that's fine but don't make statements like you're absolutely right when you're actually dead wrong. read more

Manager is a complete b!tch! She needs to be fired. Went in to purchase games and was told one game was 100% out of stock in all stores in all the valley. Went to another game stop and they had the hard copy of it. So that was the first mess up. Second she had someone trading in a PS4. She states multiple times she knows nothing about game systems and doesn't know why she works there. She had told us it would take a minute for for trade in and so we waited up front. She then walked over in a not one bit needed attitude and stated " I told you guys it would be a hot minute and I need you guys to waited" we were not doing anything but waiting. I backed up from the counter and she shot me the nastiest glare so I told my husband screw this leave the stuff right there let's go. And we walked out. She should not run any store in any business. You can put money down on collector additions and change your mind down the line. Their rewards program is awesome, got half my son's Christmas presents from it. I have been coming here for the past year and a half now and I have never had a negative experience coming here so far. The employees know me on a first name basis at this point and I often stop by to check out their new products and promotions. I've also taken part in several of their pre-order launch nights and it has been awesome every time! Just standing in line i'm usually going to be offered free Jimmy John's and sometimes an energy drink; not a bad way to celebrate the releases of some of my favorite titles. I love these guys and I hope you end up making this your dedicated gaming store if you live locally. read more

I live in the Sugarhouse area, and being a gamer, this is the place I frequent when I'm in need of new games, trade-ins, etc. I've been coming to this location on and off for about 7 years now. The staff has changed every so often, but the attitude of the establishment has remained moderately pleasant. The location itself deserves a three star rating, but with the recent explosion of living in Sugarhouse, the limited parking that was available beforehand has become almost extinct. Better to drive off to Redwood Road or Fort Union locations, as the parking won't make you want to pull your hair out. read more

I live a few block away from this location, so this is my go-to place for video games. They've got a pretty good selection. I usually find what I'm looking for eventually. But I don't really like the way it's set up there. It's very crowded, not just in terms of how many people go there on a daily basis, bit also the way the games are placed as well. They don't have a huge selection of new PS2 games, but they're used section is gigantic. But as I said before, it's quite cluttered. It's hard to find what you want on the racks, especially since all the used games are at the bottom by the floor. Also, a few of the used games I've purchased have been seriously scratched. read more
