I'll be honest, about a year ago, this store was a little unorganized and didn't smell all that great. Lately though things seem to have changed for the better! I very frequently stop by anytime I'm at the mall just to see all the new stuff they have. They always have a pretty wide selection of items. Probably a little better than your average game store. Only reason I give 4 stars is because the one and only time I actually went to the mall specifically to come here, I didn't have the best experience. I called them prior to coming to ask if they buy cards. They said they did and I told them I was on my way. When I got there , they told me that they wouldn't actually pay cash for the cards and only do so on Wednesdays. Seems like that is something they should have told me when I was on the phone with them. That said, I still recommend coming here and will continue to do so myself read more

This is my favorite spot for all things NERD! They've got everything you're looking for as well as everything you weren't expecting to find. Entire walls full of Funko Pops, endless displays of Comics, everything you want Pokémon, and more! I never knew I wanted to buy so much stuff! The staff are super friendly and very helpful. I feel nerdy, at home, and understood shopping at The Nerd Store I do wish they had some sort of rewards card or a way to generate loyalty points. I seem to be coming back so often, this would come in handy! read more

I called and stopped in because they have Pokemon Prismatic cards available. When I arrived they were selling $10 tins for $32!! I am still absolutely floored with the price. More than 100% over MSRP. You already have a hard time finding cards because of scalpers. However, scalpers are selling these tins cheaper. I get this is a business and need to make money but this is absurd. Service was not an issue the price was. read more

Great place to buy funko pops and other collectibles although they didn't have much Doctor Who items. Not a seller friendly place in my opinion. I don't buy anymore things really so I'm selling my collectibles and it was weird when they told me they only do cash on Wednesday after 3pm. I work and my shift is 2-8:30pm so they're closed when I get off work. Realizing I would never be able to sell my MTG or Pokémon cards there and they charged $50 per hour(outrageous) selling bulk. I went somewhere else and sold my MTG and Pokémon cards. Great place if your buying but not if your selling apparently. There are other places to sell. read more

If you like funko, this is the place for you. I was in heaven. Most are $12 and they have a great variety. They also sell box protectors for $1 if you want one. My boyfriend is a very avid video gamer and had fun looking around at the old consoles they have on display. I don't know enough about comics or collectible cards but their prices seemed a bit steep. Other than that it's a pretty fun store. All of the employees are very nice and helpful. As mentioned before, the store is a little dirty and the carpet could use replacing. read more

Two stars because the fellow at the counter was nice. Skip this unless you want new comics only, or one of the 5 silver age on the wall. A G+ copy of the 1st Punisher is not a $900 comic. Please review your prices Nerd Store. Seedy location. It's inside one of those malls that is run down and has the gates halfway down so you don't know if the stores are open or closed. Edit/Response: thank you for the response and I wish you well in your future endeavors. First, I'd recommend reviewing your current back issue's in the boxes. A few that I might have purchased were ruined from a lack of bag or board. Uncanny 316, Deathmate Black, etc. were in pretty rough shape, which is totally unacceptable in anything published since 1980. Second, It would take about a day to organize all 5 boxes in alphabetical order or by publisher, alphabetically, and numerically. Based on another review, it seems like they've been like that for a while. Third, get those silver age books out of the frames. People may not realize they are comics and not mini-posters. I've seen more valuable comics displayed in a variety of ways. Their own display case near the counter tends to work well, and even prominent sign(s) around the store that direct the customer to your high-end books. You can also make a small binder with the high end comics listed, their grade, and their prices if you don't want them displayed, as long as it's obvious to customers that they are available. Watch the lighting if you're going to keep them on a wall. I've also seen plexiglass placed over long boxes of top end books with finger holes cut out so that customers can flip through without damaging anything. It wouldn't be anything for someone to walk in on a Tuesday morning, reach up, and take your Giant Size X-Men #1 while the single employee is in the back. I'm 5'10" and could easily reach them, So watch out. I talked with a fellow at another store that stopped selling comics due to theft! But hey, what do I know? read more

I have frequented and had comic book holds at many comic books stores in the valley. In the end I settled here even though there are 4 stores between my home and the Nerd Store. They are friendly helpful and knowledgeable. I feel right about my decision and have never regretted changing my hold here. I have made friends and feel valued here. Great store. read more

While I wasn't a fan when they first opened, I am very much a fan now. Great back issue selection with some really cool old books at FAIR prices. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere - awesome place to browse. In an era when comic stores are closing left and right, I sincerely hope these guys stay in business for a good long time. Kudos to the Nerd Store - they have stepped up their game and I am impressed. My one critique - the $1.00 bin for old beat up comics should probably be a $.50 bin - other than that, nice work guys. read more

They have interesting stuff for sale here -- TV and movie collectibles, new comic books, vinyl toys, Magic: The Gathering and other games. They have long tables in the back behind the counter for your MTG and D&D gaming needs. Prices on collectibles are on the high side here. Comic books and booster packs are priced fairly. Workers are helpful and very nice. Gamers in the back are of all ages and seemed to be treating each other like one big family. It seems like a good place to try out your new necromancer deck. I absolutely love this place! They have so many comics, and for great prices! Their other merchandise is worth the money too! I came here in search of a go-to comic book store near where I live - took the bus from Salt Lake City, pretty much a straight shot down redwood road. And I discovered that this was a great store, in a convenient location! The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and will greet and assist you a thousand times over to make sure that you are finding what you are looking for. I ended up walking out with 4 great new comics to start out my living in Salt Lake City. Will definitely be coming back for those new releases! They just need a website! read more

They have fun products but when i went to the register the check out the guy behind the counter was to busy texting to ring me up. He actually called one of the other employees (one who was actually working on something) to ring me up. I later found out this was the owner! This is another comic book/card store that has additional collectible stuff, but what a load of collectible stuff they have. I definitely enjoyed spending time here and they have everything from the aforementioned comic books and Magic: The Gathering games in the back to superhero figurines to cups to wearables. This is a pretty well thought-out store in terms of collectible items with a decent selection (maybe even good, if you want to allow for the size of the space) and lots of stuff to ooh & ahhh over. This is the kind of place that has a lot of cross appeal and I had no problem happily being somewhat detained by all of the goodies. It could be better, but real talk, it could always be better and these guys are no slouches at all. Their staff, in fact, I would put near the top of any of these places I've been to, without question. Definitely dig the passion, guys. Keep it going strong. read more
