All seemed well enough until one of the kids in the party got into an altercation with a kid that wasn't part of the party. Needless to say, people were displeased, the kid from the party got a nasty black eye from it. I guess ya get what ya get when you're trying to have a kids birthday party at a waterbury dump. There was very little to no supervision in this place. These were 7&8 year olds. This shouldn't have been a thing. The facility itself has a lot of activities to do. I question the cleanliness of the facility because all the colors are fading a dingy. With all the kids that flow through this place, it should be getting sanitized with bleach DAILY. There wasn't even the slightest smell of bleach anywhere. The party service was minimal, the workers brought the pizza and water in and left. They supplied the paper plates and napkins also. I've been to other venues such as Extreme Air in Cheshire where the workers hosted the party so the families and friends could focus on their kids and not issuing out the food and drinks but who knows. This place was entirely too expensive for the amount of crap that went on here. I do not endorse this facility in anyway shape or form.

It feels like when I was in middle and high schooI. I suggest eating before coming here. I also recommend buying your own skates as rentals are not only gross but not safe. Put that $5 back in your pocket. The music is like top 40 stuff and some old school music for the old and experienced folks. I skated on and off from middle school to summer camps and church groups. Pushing 40 and out of shape but I regained confidence. Sometimes it's not the rink itself, it's the people. I was definitely one of those people. My last movie when Regal was here was Sonic 2, and this last night I went, the movie I had gone to see was Sonic 3. Every movie I had gone to see between these 2 movies I had to buy a ticket to go see in Norwalk, and sometimes I would have to call Ubers to make part of my trip home from a movie. Avatar 2, Transformers Rise of the Beasts, and the Furiosa movies were the movies in which I had to employ this method. So yeah, I am thankful to have had Apple Cinemas move here. But don't think that will get you an automatic 5 because, well, it's not. See, when I got here last night, this theater looked like a ghost town. The pocket areas where we could go to the bathroom were closed off, so if you need the bathroom, you have to go into the mall itself. This can quickly become a problem if the main mall had already closed for the night. You can however still go to the bathroom after you pass through the checkpoint where you get your ticket okayed to go. The lobby is basically scorched earth because there's nothing there anymore. I used to love coming in early and playing the arcade machines to kill time before the movie. It was one of the best things about movie nights. Even the old location of Apple Cinemas had something for me to do when I went to that location for the last time. But now there's nothing. Come on! Bring these back! They were so much fun! Concessions are back-to-basics in terms of what's available, but buying concessions are a bit of a pain now. They need to simplify this if they expect people to buy popcorn or any other kinds of snacks. The recliner chairs thankfully are still here. They do look messy when you walk in, but they still work fine. I'll give them a 3. This place still has their kinks to work out and hopefully Waterbury residents can stay in town for their movie nights going forward. My main things this place needs to improve on is their methods of purchasing concessions and they REALLY need to bring back the arcades!
