A group of us headed here for dinner- I was intrigued by the name- remembered as a kid seeing people bathing in the Ganges(seemed very polluted). The restaurant is tucked away in the Meadows and when you walk in you hit the bar area which was very busy with Karaoke. Fortunately we were seated in a different room and had a wall separating us from the singers. Our waitress was terrific steering us with shared plates and main dishes. Also, she divided up our bill equitably. The food is delicious and beautifully presented; best Indian food we have encountered in Sarasota. I wish I took more pictures. The seven of us split different naans, but my personal favorite entrees were the ghee roast brisket, feta Murgh malai tikka and a shrimp dish. Each accompanying sauce was unique and added to each dish. All the naans were awesome as well. The cost was quite reasonable given the variety and portion size. We had some leftovers for tomorrow. I highly recommend this establishment and we will definitely return in the Fall. read more

We came here for our anniversary. It was hands down the best food I have had so far in 2026. The Gulabi Kachori was stunning upon arrival and the taste is hard to describe. It was a cold appetizer with chickpeas and potatoes covered in a beet yogurt. This was flavorful, light and presented so beautifully! The honey smoked salmon was tender and so delicious. I had the Burratta Butter Chicken and my husband had the Ghee roast. For dessert we had the Lotus Kapi-Misu. It was a presentation, beautiful and tasted heavenly. The wait staff and manager were so kind and helpful. I will definitely be returning. This wasn't just a meal, it was an experience. read more

We walked in through the bar, at 7:20pm. They had a live musician playing Lenard Conan covers. We walked into the dining room, the tables were well spaced apart. This was a plus for us as we enjoyed this meal with my 82 year old father in law. We had the oysters and the fire grilled cauliflower to start, then the lamb and morel korma as well as another lamb dish plus the saag. All three were delicious, perfect spice levels the garlic naan was fantastic as well. Service was gracious and on time throughout the meal. It was not too busy but the location was definitely off the beaten path. I would have to say worth the trip. Nice looking cocktails as well. We were too full for dessert, but will have to return for the cheesecake sometime soon. Very nice experience. read more

One of our dining companions lived in the far east and said that the food in this restaurant, especially the Peshwari Naan, were the most authentic Indian food that she had had overseas. My husband and I had dinner at Ganges recently and were honestly blown away. It's traditional Indian cuisine with a modern twist, and everything we had was incredibly flavorful and really well executed. The presentation stood out right away!! each dish felt thoughtful and intentional. The lamb shank was served covered and when they opened it, it released smoke which was such a cool touch. Dessert was also made tableside, which made it feel like a full experience from start to finish. What we ordered: Gulabi Kachori, Burrata Butter Chicken, Feta Murgh Malai Tikka, Butter Naan, Ghost Biryani, and the Lotus Kaapi-Misu for dessert. The burrata butter chicken and lamb shank were probably our favorites, but truly everything was great. The ambiance is warm and elevated, and the service really stood out...attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. This is easily one of the most unique dining experiences we've had in Sarasota and somewhere we'll absolutely be coming back to. Last night was my 2nd time dining at Ganges. The presentation of the food was some of the best I've ever seen. It was like a Michelin star restaurant. Best of all, the food was amazing. Ganges has brought new life to an old location in the Meadows. The fresh, renovated space where the Pub used to be , is serving high end Indian cuisine that is both delicious and innovative. I started with tofu croquettes with kadaifi and a roasted red pepper peanut sauce. Delish!!! And a beautiful presentation ! My black lentils in a makhani sauce had an amazing depth of flavor, Didn't have room for dessert but I will next time because the descriptions on the dessert list were pure temptation. What a great dining experience. The wait staff, especially Anjali, were excellent anticipating our needs. The food and wine from start to finish was delightful. The vegetables were beyond what I have ever had not only at other Indian restaurants but elsewhere. Not only will we go back often, it will be high on our takeout list. The Ambiance was welcoming. My new favorite place for Indian food! My husband, son and I stopped in because we all love Indian food, and this was close to his home. Wow- were we in for a treat! This is Indian food with a modern twist and beautiful presentation. It was so good we came back again 2 days later. Everything was delicious from our appetizer (Tofu Dynamite, which was so good that we three carnivores ordered it again on our second trip), to the flavorful garlic naan to our main dishes. The Burrata Butter Chicken was the best version of this dish we've ever had, the Coastal Jingha was superb with shrimp that were cooked to perfection and a sauce so good my son kept sneaking it off my plate, and the Lamb Morel Korma was so good that my son ordered it on both visits. He said it was just as good the second time around. If you've got room for dessert, the Lotus Kaapi Misu is a lot of fun. read more

My family and I came here the other day with 2 toddlers and had an amazing experience. Appetizers came out very quickly and were excellent. I ordered the sikandari raan as my entree and it was delicious. The lamb came off the bone and was very tender. Everyone else in my party loved the food as well. The service was also excellent all night. They take a lot of traditional Indian dishes and add some really fun and elevating elements to them. Would highly recommend. read more
