I love going to Georgies to party, its a very nice spot, and as a Latina Im always looking for a latin night, I noticed on April the latin nights was the same night as @Lui3o5 performance and I thought it was a coincidence, until this month, I noticed you guys have a second latin night(which is rare) the exact same night as the other @Lui3o5 and I was actually concerned and left a comment that was deleted twice, its not a complaint, I just wish we have latin music different nights so we can enjoy more and not try to shade others :) read more

Our experience was not one that I would share with my family and friends again. Looks tired inside and poor table configuration in the room. Big farm house tables then small ones. They moved us from one table (big) to smaller one because they needed it for a party. Service and staff had to take care of that group and another larger group leaving us for a quick walk by to see how we were doing. Food was dry chicken, under cooked shrimp, and very buttery shrimp. Maybe a 3 out of 10 for taste. Guess it would be fine for a salad at lunch. Not so good for a nice dinner out. read more

Made reservations a week in advance for an early dinner to celebrate a family birthday. This restaurant was chosen as a halfway point for everyone, everyone was driving an hour to get there. We had already made the trip since we were visiting Mote SEA beforehand. About an hour before our reservation, I got a call from the hostess saying the dining room would be closed that evening due to a private party and asking if we'd be okay being seated in the bar area instead. I agreed. A few minutes later, she called back again to say that because of a larger party, they could no longer accommodate our reservation for 6 and needed to cancel it entirely. At that point, I was extremely frustrated. Canceling a reservation of 6 only an hour before dinner--after we had already driven there--is unacceptable. If they knew they were booking a larger party or hosting a private event, there should have been much more notice given. I asked to speak with a manager, and unfortunately that made the experience even worse. He was unprofessional and completely unapologetic about the situation. Then, to make matters even more confusing, the hostess called back again to say they actually could still accommodate us. By then, the entire experience had been so disorganized and frustrating that I declined. Very disappointing experience with them but fortunately for us it worked out better having it at Cooper's Hawk it was fantastic! read more

Went on Mother's Day and it was horrible. The place was super hot because they decided to prop the doors open for the buffet the was poorly maintained. The food was ok but extremely poor presentation and they charged a ridiculous amount for the kids drinks. read more

This review is for their adjacent separate bar area, called Bar George. I stopped in on a late Friday morning and loved everything from the second I walked in the door. The whole place-bathed in natural light-with decor that brings the outside even more inside-was so relaxing and cheerful. I felt the same way after a couple of basil cucumber gimlets. To be honest, they are what drew me in. Well, actually. I ambled across the parking lot from Michael's and Gifts and More because I loved the name. But then I saw the menu out front and spied the gimlet. I knew I had to go back, as soon as they opened-and by gum (! Where did that come from?) I did! There are all sorts of booths, in different corners, under interesting lighting and even some artificial trees, near walls with faux greenery and lighted quote signs. But I perched at the bar. I liked the view from there-out all of the big windows. And, I got to hear one of my favorite sounds-a cocktail shaker! The excellent bartender knew just how to build that beautiful gimlet. It was the most refreshing cocktail I've ever had. It was also so perfectly layered-each flavor had its moment to shine. And smooth... oh yeah. Theseginlets are gooood! I'll definitely go back for more... and, to try their food menu. There were several items that caught my eye. I also want to know why there's a disco/mirror ball in there. In my book, only good things can come from that!!! It's right there, in the shopping plaza just west/across the street from UTC Mall in Sarasota... (You can walk from one to the other)... not far from Rocco's Tacos. It's clean and cute, bright and airy... with easy breezy vibes. Another great meal. Came here later on a Sunday and things were winding down. Ate outside and was served by the lovely Gia. We had a few cocktails ( a yummy bronzed and buzzed, and an old fashioned) which were both well made. We ordered a bunch of apps: chicken parm sliders, mini ahi tuna tacos, margherita flatbread, and a tuna/ salmon roll. All were good and filling. Main dining room was closed; bar/ patio seating only and good business in the bar. Will be back sooner next time! read more

Ok I had brunch here Sunday and after a couple bad recent experiences at other restaurants I was relieved this experience was good. We ordered a cowboy jam burger, and a Cesar salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned, the salad had a good dressing that was pleasant, the burger was cooked just ride and the jam and all the fixings were good, the French fries were decent. The waitress was great and was there when we needed her. The atmosphere was a nice modern feel. We will return in the near future to see how consistent the food is. It's gorgeous, but the service was non existent and we never got to try the food and bevs. We sat for 30 minutes with no acknowledgment but the water server. At one point I even flagged a server down and said "Can we order something?" He replied "Umm, not from me but I'll go get your server." We waited about 10m more, said server never appeared. We got up and left. We went around the corner to Kitchen Social and had a great meal served with great service. There are a lot of good options at UTC. The food was flavorful, and beautifully put together, making it the perfect mix of chic and fun. I happened to go on ladies night, so shouts out to the ladies and staff holding it down! The servers were friendly, so this review is not about their service. The people there were lovely. I went to UTC for their holiday special, and the food there was similar quality to maybe going to First Watch. This restaurant markets itself as fine dining (and prices reflect this), but the food does not meet expectations for that type of restaurant. The drinks were good, but the food took an hour to come. I would suggest that they maybe offer some bread maybe if that wait time is typical. read more

We stopped in on the way back from the ST Pete Boat Parade. Where able to get a table for 6 at 8:30pm. The table setting was different and allowed 6 people to be in the conversation. Nice decor and xmass music. Atmosphere was loved by all, fun and unexpected. The service was prompt and the food was top notch all around. Smash burger was juicy and cooked just right. I loath giving bad reviews, but I have given this place so many chances. The food is pretty good and the drinks are excellent. My book cl7b would meet here on the last Thursday of every month and there would be between 10-14 of us. At first it was the service, it was addressed and never given that server after 2 times with her. Then, I guess the owners decided to try and make it a dance club. The music was so loud. The last time there it was so loud and the DJ kept turning the volume up and down... it was awful. Half the people left after 30 mins and the rest of us lasted an hour just to finish our food and cocktails. Needless to say Georgie's is dead to us. Which sucks, because it had a great Thursday happy hour and didnt close at 9pm like a lot of restaurants around here do. read more

This based on Christmas Eve dinner. 3 stars is being generous. Hostess didn't see to be interested in seating us, like we were putting her out. They opened at about 4 we had a 6 reservation. It was a prix fixe menu 5 of 6 appys, 5 or 6 entrees and 5 or 6 deserts. Well 2 hours into the service they were out of bisque. The short rib was excellent and desert decadent which is why they got this rating. Our waiter basically ignored us. 5 minutes to get a knife 10 minutes to get coffee. No checking up. We went for Easter Sunday brunch. Our first time here. The place is beautiful! The staff and especially our waiter was great, the food was good but the prices were a little overboard. Our biggest issue was the music, which was very loud, and not exactly appropriate for a Easter Sunday crowd. We asked to have it turned down, which they did but then someone else turned it back up. We said no more at the time. They add an automatic 20% tip to your bill. read more

We made a reservation for dinner on a Wednesday night for two of us just in case it got busy. Upon arrival we noticed the cafe side was closed, so we went in through the bar. We were informed the cafe was not open because it wasn't busy, so we were instructed to sit anywhere in the bar, the hostess brought us over to a table in the back right next to a large party. At first we figured out they're not loud but we did feel a bit too close so we scooted table over a bit. Within 10 mins a LARGE very boisterous party came in from outside. They were practically screaming over the table at each other and very close to us. Now we understood we were in the bar portion of the restaurant but our whole goal was to eat at the restaurant and not the bar so we were trying not be THOSE customers but also wanted to be comfortable in the environment. We asked to move to a spot over away from the party in a quieter spot and not so close to other tables, we were moved and they were very nice about it. I ordered the sunken garden drink which was delicious. We started with the spicy tuna- DELICIOUS and fresh. For main entree, I had the sea bass and my fiancé had the salmon. The sea bass with the truffle risotto and lemon butter sauce was so so so freaking good. My fiancé enjoyed his salmon but said he wished there was more sauce on it. I want to go back and try different drinks and appetizers and get my hands on that sea bass again BUT I doubt we would go if the cafe wasn't open and only the bar- so I guess we will have to call to verify from now on. read more

Had reservation for Christmas Eve, when arriving they weren't ready, that's no problem. After waiting and seating us, they tell us they're out of one of the choices for appetizers, the lobster bisque, which is what we all wanted. So we said ok and chose the salad and placed our order. 5 minutes later they come over and tell us there is no filet mignon. Now it's 8:30 Christmas Eve and have to find something else. Very poor management to have limited menu and not have what is on it. read more

Had dinner here tonight. The jumbo shrimp appetizer was good. The old fashioned was good but the Cosmo was frothy and lacked alcohol. We ordered the prime rib specials and sent both of them back since they were raw. One came back medium rare which we ate and the other came back well done, which was supposed to be medium. The glassware for the bar was cloudy and unpolished (dishwasher soap), and the drinks didn't quite hit on par for my tasting. The windows for the entire place were also a bit dirty; which my general rule for restaurants is if the outside is dirty, then the inside can't be any better. This place is never consistent with their food or their service. My birthday dinner here was delicious. I had the snapper with risotto and asparagus and their flourless chocolate cake was yummy. Then we came here for brunch and it was NOT good. I ordered their beets and goat cheese salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was pink inside. The beets salad didn't have goat cheese or really anything that would add variety and flavor to it. The greens were already doused in the salad dressing which I wish it wasn't. It was a soggy mess. They need to serve the dressing on the side. They don't have non alcoholic drinks, just crappy coke products, and their lemonade only makes you more thirsty. If you ask for them to make you a mocktail, they say that they can't. It has a nice ambiance. Good location. But the food is a hit or miss. read more

went for the $69.99 Valentine dinner. we were the only ones inside, took more than 5 mins for someone to come to table. asked for our drink preference and was told they can't make strawberry daiquiri. asked for salad with no goat cheese and salad came with cheese, soup came with no spoon and a long black hair in it. very small 6oz filet and 3 slivers of carrots with a couple of teaspoons of mashed potatoes and a dessert for $69.99, would never go there again and wouldnt recommend to anyone else. read more
