When we arrived, it wasn't very crowded, and we were seated promptly by our server, Akash, who brought us the menus. We ordered Lemon Pepper Salmon Tikka and Chilli Chicken from the menu. Our dinner came out in about 20 minutes. The Chilli Chicken was a bit of a letdown. The chicken was cooked in tomato sauce, and it wasn't very tasty. Not really worth it. However, the Lemon Pepper Salmon Tikka was still good, and our toddler liked it. Based on the food that we had, this isn't an authentic Indian restaurant. read more

Table for 3 on a Thursday night. The highlight was the appetizer Eggplant Chaat. Hard to explain it, just order it. We also had the saag paneer (prefer this to be a bit thicker), chicken madras that was very good and an interesting dish Malai Kofta - four veggie dumplings in a cashew sauce. We ordered medium spice which was just about right for us, did have a little kick which was nice. Onion Naan pictured was crispy. Portions were on the smaller side, good selection of Indian beers. I visited Spice Indian very recently and was wowed by the food, service, and presentation. Additionally, I was SO delighted to see dosas on the specials menu. I noticed that, while I was eating in, two other decent tables to me ordered dosas also. I must say those patrons have great taste and I am very thankful dosas were available :) I ordered a mysore masala dosa and it was very delectable. The spice level was great, the potato filling was just right and the sambar and chutney accompaniments were excellent. My dining companion ordered a palak paneer lunch special, as we dined during the lunch hour. Despite being moderately busy, the service from Libin was on point, accommodating, and efficient. Our water glasses were never empty and our food was delivered hot. I also had hot green tea which was served in an individual porcelain pot that is placed at the table so you have more than a single serving. It was my first time trying dessert beyond the very tasty rice pudding that is included with the lunch special and I was not disappointed. The cardamom date cake had awesome texture and wasn't sickeningly sweet even with the poured edition of the accompanying toffee sauce. It was really excellent and I look forward to having again. This resturant is clean and charming, located within a strip mall and there is plentiful parking adjacent. If I could make a suggestion it would be to have dosa on the regular menu all the time! I understand that it's not the most uncomplicated food item to make however they are made so deliciously at Spice Indian Cuisine and currently the only restaurant in the area that serves them! Our plan was to go to Tikka but we forgot they are closed on Wednesday so we went to the parter restaurant instead. Excellent food, service and value. Forgot to take pics. Spicy chicken to start was delightful. Butter chicken, Tikka Masala with lamb and vindaloo with chicken were all outstanding with good portion size with perfectly cooked proteins. I stopped by to see if they offered a buffet but was told they have a combo option during their lunch times. No problem. I love Indian food and sometimes if a place offers a buffet you can really try different things to see what you can order for take out or dine in. The staff seemed nice and I spoke to a couple leaving and they really enjoyed their meal. Indian food and be a hit or miss, but this place seems like it will be a winner. Let's talk Vindaloo goat - Medium spice is actually accurate , some places don't put enough spice. Extremely aromatic and the goat was done very well. Garlic naan - phenomenal, the garlic pungency was at its peak , just as it should be. It's real. This is AUTHENTIC curries (Indian food) and you can get as light (saag) or as spicy (tikka masala) as you like. And yes the naan is good! The staff were very helpful in recommendations for my American husband. The prices are a little steep for Indian food, but this is Sarasota, so they've got to cover rent, LOL. Looking for Thai or Indian food near downtown Sarasota for the theater. Found Spice Indian Cuisine. WHO KNEW it was related to Tikki Indian in Venice??? When we recognized TWO of the waiters here at Spice Indian - well than WE DID? Got the cauliflower app - Gobi Manchuria and my wife got the Tandoori chicken. I went with the Aloo Gobi. I have to say if you like Indian food this would be the restaurant for you. I did a vacay in Mumbai India and I compare this food to that which they are not cooking for the American palate the cooking for the palate for people who love Indian food. I asked for Indian hot and I got it oh boy did I get it but the thing is you could not taste the heat you could just feel it and all the exotic flavors of Indian food were not Disturbed. The service was impeccable I have to say they don't just serve a section but they serve every table we had four people come and check on us through the night. Yeah I'm Beyonce was great I thought it didn't pack the place full of chairs and tables to try and get as many people in there as they could at one time so you do have space to walk and move your chair and know that you're not going to bump somebody if you move your chair back. For me this is a go-to place for Indian food lovers I'm going to give this six stars out of five they greeted us on the way in they greeted us on the way out and in between that they did take care of us and they're very nice people not that I thought that they wouldn't be but they are just nice good to see and have in this day and age. Stop being a cowboy get your ass out there and get yourself some Indian food it's healthy it's tasty it's beautiful presentation of the food and the colors are just vibrant and beautiful it's like art and it does leave you satisfied taste buds are tantalized your mind's blown and your lips taste better than it did before you walked in there. We will definitely go back there and try to complete the entire menu and it's not cuz we're greedy it's because the food is actually really slap you momma or somebody's momma damn good so put your eyebrows down. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night, and had a really pleasant time. The service was great and friendly. For the two of us, we ordered samosas, and a cauliflower appetizer dish, as well as a curry dish. We were really pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes; I had never been to an Indian restaurant that served so much rice before! The restaurant is fairly spacious inside, and there's a mixture of booths as well as regular tables. Outstanding experience! From outside right away I noticed the restaurant is well lit, full of people and inviting. Massive bar area not being used as a bar and staff stands behind it. Confusing but quickly solved when warmly greeted and seated. Servers work as a team, friendly and respectful. Menu has plenty of options and each dish is clearly explained. Loved this for I ventured and tried dishes I have never seen at other Indian restaurants. Server even explained and made suggestions, which I totally followed. Important to note: You are asked how you want your dish, Mild, Medium, or Hot Spices! They actually listen and we throughly enjoyed this meal. There is a beer and wine menu. The desserts, like the dishes and sauces are all home made too. Take out is steady which was surprising since they have only been open a couple of weeks. Plenty of parking in this plaza. I am a huge fan of their sister restaurant Tikka in Venice and was ecstatic to hear Spice was opening in my town! This is easily the best Indian restaurant in Sarasota. Every dish is exceptional and I have yet to have a dish that I did not like. Even their vegetarian dishes are great (try the cauliflower appetizer) can can appease my carnivorous appetite! They also offer lunch specials that are a great value for under $15! Tip: Go for the medium spicy if you enjoy some heat but still want to taste your food.
