August 1: Ganley has had my vehicle for nearly 3 weeks and they still haven't started the repair on my transmission, despite confirmation that it was a warranty repair. My repeated emails to their general manager have been unanswered. Thankfully, I was able to finally get a loaner yesterday and received communication that they should be beginning the repair soon. I'm cautiously optimistic they they may be able to turn this experience around.
Update, November 28: My optimism about them turning this experience around was unfortunately incorrect. I was contacted yesterday and advised that I could pick up the vehicle, though they recommended I replace the brake pads and rotors (their price for that $1200) and a few spark plugs (their price $300). I said I'd handle those on my own, particularly since the brake pads and rotors had been replaced only 6 months before it was towed to the dealership.
So i just picked it up, and they give me the key, and it doesn't start. Initially they ask if I'd like to purchase a new battery from them, and then blame the dead battery on the weather change. They insist that they'd taken it for a test drive following the repair, and presumably it had started fine, but somehow in the 24 hours since that alleged test drive, the battery had failed. They give me a jump and im on the road, and, I swear, if there had been so much as a sprinkling of rain I likely would not be alive to be writing this review. The brakes are nearly unresponsive, the check engine light is on, the car wheezes like an asthmatic old man, and I'm lucky to have made it home. It's difficult to believe this is a car that passed even the most basic of diagnostics. Thankfully, for my own safety, the car is again immobile in my driveway.
Suffice it to say that i do not recommend this dealership. In five months they contacted me only when repeatedly directed to do so after my calls to Ford's corporate office. The repair work was shabby, incomplete, and left the car in far worse condition than before the 5 months they had it. Meanwhile, they refuse to own any part of the experience, nor has the general manager returned any of my requests for a callback.
The one and only time Ganley Ford West initiated a phone call to me was after I initially wrote a review on Google and gave them 2 stars due to a month of no communication or progress on my repair. Only then did they pick up the phone and had the nerve to ask me to reconsider the review so I changed it to 3. Today I have changed it again to a single star, and that feels generous. One star, and that's my final answer. read more
