I scheduled a test drive two days prior, but when I arrived they said I couldn't drive until we agreed on a price...obviously I won't know the value to me until I get a feel for the car. Why didn't they tell me two days ago when I scheduled the test drive? If they waited to meet me to judge whether I was serious, that's dishonest. If they forgot to tell me their procedure, that's incompetent. Either way I wasted part of my Saturday at the dealership and still don't know whether I want to pursue this model. After another local dealer spent two months telling me a thermostat for my car was unavailable and stringing me along, I decided to give Brunswick a call. I recently went into Brunswick Mazda after a bad experience at another dealership in the area, I was very surprised. I'm a younger guy (23 years old) and I'm driving a car I bought when I was 17. I'm not by any means "wealthy". But I'm a car enthusiast and have been working with cars since I was a child. Because of my age, my looks, and the type of car I'm looking at (RWD, manual, etc") I'm not usually taken seriously by car dealerships unless I walk in with my father. When I walked in Ryan Hart made contact with me and immediately threw me the keys of a 2016 Miata and let me go for a test drive. I really ended up enjoying the car a lot more than I expected. We discussed numbers and he gave me a fair estimate of what the car would cost to own, even with my trade in not being there. I ended up walking out of the dealership not purchasing the car, due to the fact clearer minds prevailed, and I decided to do a little research, work out my finances and take a look at a few other cars I was looking at before making my final decision. Let me tell you a story about buying a car... I was driving the same car for the last 12 years, like I had this car since high school! She did her best and while I had separation anxiety, I knew it was finally time for me to upgrade. I decided I wanted a Mazda 3 Hatchback. I took my time and spent the last two years researching: asking questions, talking to owners, reading reviews, and meeting with dealerships. I wasn't that happy with the sales people I encountered previously so I gave up on my new car search for a while. I don't like making an inquiry and then receiving multiple texts, calls, emails right away (within an hour!) from one place, I didn't like being transferred between sales associates, or talking with associates who had very little experience and knowledge about the car they were selling. I also don't like getting the run around about pricing and having to go back and forth ("here's the price, well we can try to lower it this much, hey wait! how about this much?" Psshh if you wanted to give me a fair deal you would have done that from the start!). All of this typical reasons for why car sales people earn their bad reputation. I found none of that malarkey at Brunswick Mazda/ Brunswick Auto Mart! In 24 hours of making contact with them I purchased a new car! Ryan Hart was my sales associate and he promptly contacted me and gave me the lowest price from the start. No BS, no games, just straight forward and in talking to him I could easily tell he had a lot of knowledge not only about my specific car but about the manufacturer in general as well. And you better believe I grilled him and brought up every problem, possibility, question, whatever that I found in my research. He stayed cool as a cucumber and gave me all of the answers. He went over every single doohickey and feature inside and outside of the car with me and we discussed/compared everything (ie 16 inch tires vs 18 inch tires and how the car performs in the snow). He even broke down the pricing for me so I could see exactly how everything added up and what payments would be if I took 0% APR or cash back. He was very open about all of the rebates I could get, what if anything he made off of the sale, what the dealership was getting, how long the car was on the lot, if Mazda was going to do any revisions on this model soon, the three best times of the year to buy a car, his history/driving experience with his own Mazda; he was upfront about everything! When it came time for the paper work I met with the finance manager, Steven Platko. Another seemingly genuine guy, friendly, and no stench of shadiness at all. I had a specific number in mind that I wanted for my car payments and Steve found a way to help me get really close to that ideal goal. The sales price could not be lowered anymore so they increased the value of my trade and bought me three more months of zero interest. All in all I would definitely recommend Ryan and Steve at Brunswick Mazda. I felt comfortable, did not experience any pressure or stupid sales tactics, and I know I got a really great deal on my car! read more

I love this place! I've purchased my last two cars from Brunswick Mazda (Mazda 3). I went in recently to try and get my third car. What I love about them is that they never pressure you or make you feel like you are bothering them. I've been to many different dealers where they size you up and don't give you the attention. That would never happen here. I worked with Josh the past two times and Ryan this most recent time. I will never go to another Mazda dealer. I first started my search on their website. Very easy to use and gave me an idea of exactly what I wanted to look for. The window sticker prices make the process easier and enjoyable. They are by far superior in every way. The New Brunswick location building is absolutely stunning, inside and out. The salesmen are wonderful. They are attentive, honest, and help you every step of the way. Ryan immediately greeted me upon arrival, and I told him what I was interested and he answered all of my questions, took me to the car, and allowed me to test drive it right away. He was patient with me as I explored 3 different vehicles, all types of interiors and colors. When I was 100% sure with what I wanted, we sat down and talked numbers. I ended up not buying this time, the numbers just didn't work out... yet. But I will be back in the future and hopefully it will click. The experience was wonderful. My 73 year old mother-in-law purchased a new CX-5 from them, including the extended warranty, which I helped her through the entire process. When we got it home and I cleaned it up in the garage (picked it up on a rainy day), we realized it had the front 'bumper' repaired (poorly) with spray paint in two spots. We contacted them and they denied knowing about it and blamed it on the dealer that they got the car from (of course). After a few calls and a trip back to the dealership, they replaced it with the bumper cover from another vehicle. We also obtained the original paperwork showing that they did in fact 'repair' the vehicle with spray paint and tried to pass it off as new. Now all that is fine since we found the damage that they tried to 'cover up', but what if we hadn't? I spoke to our sales person (Joel Cruz) several times asking that they compensate (a couple free oil changes, car washes or something...not asking for anything big or money back) my mother-in-law for her extra time, trips, stress and basically trying to rip her off by not revealing damage on a new vehicle. We figured it was the least they could do since they sold her a $35,000+ vehicle (with warranty and taxes) with damage that someone obviously knew about and tried to slip by us. He said he would speak to the dealer they obtained the car from to see if they would offer anything, but said he would do something to make her happy if they didn't. I agreed...even thanked him and expected a call back within a few days. A few weeks went by and we never received a call back (of course). I guess his thought process is that if he ignores the problem, it will go away. When she called him after not hearing anything (I was on the other line), Joel denied ever saying this and said that they repaired the damage and didn't owe us anything else. I cut in and reminded him of exactly what he said and he continued to make excuses. The sale was final and he obviously didn't care anymore about 'making it right'. I told him I was done talking to him and was going to speak with the sales manager...and hung up. When I called back and asked for the sales manager, they put me through to Joel again? After telling me he doesn't respond well to my tone, I reminded him that he doesn't respond at all...otherwise I wouldn't have a 'tone' in the first place. In any case, he hung up on me. I tried calling back and got another sales person that said he didn't know how to transfer the phone (seriously?), but would have the service manager return my call. Of course that never happened, so I contacted Mazda customer service the following day and reported the situation. If you want to buy a new Mazda and want professional service, THIS IS NOT THE DEALERSHIP TO BUY FROM! I very strongly recommend you drive the extra miles to another that is professional and understands customer service. Brunswick Mazda tried to sell us a 'brand new' damaged vehicle, avoided returning calls and then went into this Laurel and Hardy routine when I tried calling back to talk to a supervisor. The other reviewer is 100% correct, the sales department doesn't care about their customers after the sale and it appears the lunatics are running the asylum as no professional supervisor at the location took over and addressed the issue either...or is even aware of the issue. Instead, you have a very unsatisfied customer that feels that she was taken advantage of...and she's right. I feel bad for taking her to this dealership, but she does like the vehicle. Unfortunately if people don't speak up, other customers will be taken advantage of as well. Instead, buy from someone who cares and stands by their words and their reputation...not these guys who hang up on their new customers and employ supervisors that don't answer their customer's complaints. One unprofessional salesperson I can understand, but the level of incompetence and unprofessionalism we experienced at this dealership is unbelievable! If you do buy from here, good luck...and make sure you inspect your vehicle very closely! read more

A good experience. My salesman was Scott Russell and he answered every question, followed up on everything I asked for and treated my like a CUSTOMER. I used the Costco pricing for my 2016 MAZDA CX-5 and received $1,000 off invoice. They open the book, show you the invoice (not MRSP) then take a grand off. EASY. I was really interested in cheap financing and no one would extend anything lower that 3.9% including Honda in North Olmsted (for a CRV) and Park Mazda in Akron. Park even had the nerve to offer me a higher price the second time I stopped there! Bye Park! Scott was able to get me a 1.9% for 72 from Wells Fargo. Their finance manager pushed nothing! He's been in the auto business for 30 plus years and I expected to get a real push on warranty and Gap insurance but he showed me what I could get and then left me alone. He did his job without being overbearing. Since everyone is selling AWD there were no FWD vehicles on the lot in the color and style I wanted but Scott found one in Kentucky and promptly brought it to the dealership. It was in the holding garage and looking good when I picked it up. Scott spent more than a half hour showing me how to set the radio, bluetooth and went through all the buttons etc. He even called Sirius XM to set up the Sat radio. Saturday I received my first oil change and tire rotation. Again, so easy and quick. No problems. read more

Our salesman each time has been Josh Hilderhoff.There is a good reason we chose to work with him this time. He is very knowledgeable as well as personable. A week later, he calls to make sure we know the car's features, and checks back to make sure all is going well. We also had great experience with their service department on our previous car and an older Mazda we have. Financing was easy to arrange. The whole experience was quick and efficient.
