Cup of gumbo lacking Cajun spices and heat. It's good enough chicken rice soup I guess.
    Rok J.

Bottom Line: Nice staff & clean pleasant premises, but food was only so-so in diminutive portions. Top Line: Iced tea that was quickly delivered to table was of the ordinary powdered Lipton version, albeit served in a prettier than usual glass. Chicken gumbo was a cup of decent chicken rice soup. But I'd be hard pressed to call it gumbo. It lacked any spicing that spoke Cajun dialect or infused the broth with any breath of heat. On the good side, there were plenty of little chunks of chicken breast in the soup, along with the veg & rice compadres. Cajun chicken was likewise culinarily defused, perhaps an accomodationary gringofication to the notoriously genteel Midwestern palates. Again, there was little indication that your culinary journey had taken you anywhere south of about Des Moines, Iowa. The supplied tiny cup of BBQ sauce helped the pale flavor profile immensely. The sandwich's tiny portion size barely rose to more than a slightly oversize slider. Demerit also awarded for dressing the sandwich with nothing more than a spattering of shredded lettuce. Good news being that the brioche bun was nicely butter toasted from the kitchen. But it speaks volumes when the bread is the star component of a sandwich. Price of admission for the undersized meal was a couple bucks shy of a twenty after tax. Which puts a strain on the value ratio calculation. Decor was pleasant and waitress was efficient and sweet in the midst of a hectic lunch crunch. Seating was full when I arrived and was still pretty packed when lunch time faded. Obviously a popular place.

Breakfast was so good, I went back the next day for lunch. Ganley will now be a staple when I am in the area!

This is a delicious place to get breakfast all day. The location is great - I really like the outdoor seating. The service is kind of slow but they make up for it with the delicious food. The eggs are thick and fluffy, the pancakes are also fluffy and crispy (I like my pancakes more on the burnt side and they do that here!). All around you can't go wrong with any of the breakfast on the menu!

Stopped in Nisswa for some breakfast before heading back from an amazing week on Gull lake. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The location is perfect. The addition of outside seating is a great option for warm summer days. We had a variety of breakfast options ( French toast, omelets, scrambled eggs) all were fantastic as were the hash-browns. Even though they were very busy, they kept the coffee cups full of hot coffee and kept checking to see if we needed anything else. Overall a great breakfast stop. Looking over the menu it appears a great place to stop for any meal when in Nisswa or even just passing through.

    Can't beat that breakfast!

Great food and reasonable priced for a "resort" area! No credit cards- only cash or believe it or not checks.

First time visit for breakfast based on recommendation from another fantastic local restaurant…read moremanager. The homemade jumbo carmel rolls (to go) were a hit with the kids and were still warm when I got home. The server waited to have to heated up until I was ready to go to ensure they would be warm. It was a great touch. Based on the recommendation did the breakfast burrito. So glad that I did as it was a meal for 2 but filled with eggs, sausage, bacon, cheese, shredded hashbrowns, and maybe some grilled onions. Then topped with queso cheese sauce and the option for spicy or default homemade salsa. I did the spicy salsa on the side for my half and the regular salsa on the side to go for the other half. Definitely a burrito for two. When the bartender found out that this was my first visit she walked me thru the menu and the specials that are available on the weekend (limited quantities smoked ribs and beef brisket) So glad that a trusted voice recommended I give Sunshine's a try. Great food and great staff.

Third time here and I really like this place. This time it was for breakfast and man was it good…read more The Brisket Scramble was amazing. Really good brisket with perfectly done eggs. Ask for the spicy sauce you like some heat. The Avocado toast was also tasty. Dinner or lunch has also been good with unique options and chef made food. Check out their cool cocktails. I has a really nice Paloma that was absent the grapefruit syrup that usually makes these too sweet for me.

Ok, so this is sort of a wild story, but this place definitely to check out…read more If you don't want to read the whole story here is a quick break down: Food: 4.5/5 (get the fries and Pork Porterhouse) Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Now for the story. We came here for my friend's 30th birthday. It was a large group of us. The hostess didn't assume we were coming given that some of my friends had been calling the restaurant asking about pizza. I think from that point on they knew what they were in for. We all settled in and got ready to order drinks. Before we could our wonderful waitress (whose name escapes me now) told us about their large walk in wine selection. I would say about half the table quickly walked into this amazing wine storage unit. It was floor to ceiling of just amazing wine. They were gracious enough to let us try some of the wine. Drinks and wine ordered we all looked over the food choices. I decided on the red snapper because that is one of my favorite seafood dishes, and I really don't like seafood so that is saying a lot. We also ordered some french fries. Do yourself a favor and order the french fries. They were the closest to perfection a french fry has ever come for me. After our appetizer the main course came. This is where the meal could have gone off course. The snapper came out and it was TERRIBLE. Like some of the worst fish I have ever had. I asked my husband to try it because maybe I was crazy and snapper just wasn't what I remembered it being. He took one bite and almost spit it out. Now you are probably wondering why I gave this place 5 stars if the food was bad. Well the waitstaff came to the rescue. My husband quickly flagged down our waitress and told her about how bad the dish was. She apologized and everything was very civil. To make up for it we ordered the Pork Porterhouse, an absolute MUST. The Pork Porterhouse was like piggy nirvana. I've never had something quite like that before, so I don't have the words to describe it. It was pure bliss. Almost everyone else at the table had also ordered it and you could hear the almost orgasmic moans as they ate. As the night went out and the cocktails/wine/beer kept flowing our group devolved into a rowdy fun mess. Throughout it all the hostess and our waitress kept a big smile on their faces and laughed along with us. My friend even got to show them his dollar trick (which involves throwing a dollar into the ceiling) and they laughed at it (instead of being mad like I thought they would). This is a place that recognizes how to have fun, how to serve people, and knows when they made a mistake. Happily looking forward to my next trip. 49/50

The foie gras was so flavorless, thin with some sort of bread underneath to make it look bigger??? caesar salad greens had a gritty element aka sand which we were not credited. Our other salad came super wilted and way too sweet. Loved the filet which came out beautifully. overall our service felt really rushed even though a third of the tables were open. not going back. Overall Grandview Lodge needs to pay more attention to food quality.
