This gap location is big with a men's department women's department and children's department my visit here I saw no employee really around to help me, I was left to my own demise of finding the sizes or merchandise I needed. Needless to say I was able to find nothing so nothing was purchased and I left. They don't keep up with the stock keeping it neat and orderly so much is a disaster. Gap Factory stores feel the same. They're constantly filled with clothing that's on sale. I don't know why anyone would (or could) ever buy anything with the price on the tag. Look for the signs all over the store. I got a great deal. One shirt and one sweater for $15 (with all the discounts taken into account). They had a deal on their clearance section where it was an additional 40% already reduced prices. You should also check the Gallery at Westbury site for extra coupons. We were at the Galleria Mall and decided to stop by. The establishment is located in a great location. The store was clean and maintained but it seemed like it wasn't stocked properly. It seems most of the time when I did stop by they don't have the size I particular need. We felt that there was not a huge selection especially for he holidays (unless they sold out). Also not a huge selection and quality of clothes. Maybe it was timing when I come to the store. The staff are friendly warm and welcoming They do have a parking lot. read more

First of all I love the pictures that are on this gap's yelp page. This gap location is in the mall so obviously these pictures are not right. Very funny. I went to this location to look at pants because I recently opened in Old Navy credit card and I get a discount when I use it in other stores like gap and Banana Republic. When I went in no one welcomed me into the store and when I needed help it took me several minutes to find someone who could answer any of my questions. While she was very nice, the only reason I ended up having help from someone was because I watched her move coats for a few minutes and assumed she had to work there and asked for help. Even when I was standing there watching her she didn't make the first move to see if I need help. That's a little frustrating but like I said in the end she was very nice and very helpful. When I got online to pay I got help for one woman and then when I said I also wanted to order some pants online the woman said she couldn't help me. She told me I had to get back online and have someone else do the order for me. That is ridiculous! It was so frustrating because even though the line was long it's still not that I had to get back on it and displace someone else. Because the woman called me instead of some man and then he was annoyed. So it was just screwed up all around. And holy crap, this is the gap. What are pants/jeans $69? I'm appalled. I really like this Gap for children's clothes. All Gaps sell the same clothes obviously, but the clearance rack for children clothes here are always awesome. I always find something nice for a low price here. I picked up a few summer shorts, a knitted sweater, and hoodie for my son. Quality and materials feel great and their children clothes always look great by design. I also picked up a polo shirt for myself that was priced at $14, and my wife found several fitness tees for herself. The fitting rooms are nice and large here with good lighting. Of all the Gap stores I've been to (mostly in Queens, Forest Hills, Bayside, and Elmhurst), this one in Garden City is by far the best one. The clearance rack for children clothes isn't as much as Forest Hills, but what they have available are usually the nice clothes and most are priced under $10. Forest Hills has a wide range of clothes on clearance but from my experience shopping there, their clearance prices are awful! read more

Horrible service. The associates all seem as if they didn't want to work there. Couldn't find one associate who did not give me an attitude when I asked them a question about the promotion in store and about the product. No wonder gap sales are decreasing by the minute. The associates all need to be trained on what it means to work in retail. read more

This is my negative review- and I wish I could give 0 stars. GAP sucks! I went to exchange a gift my daughter got (bought online and sent to us). The cashier told me they can't exchange but I'll have to do a new purchase. Fine- whatever. So when my total came. I asked her "is the credit applied to my purchase?" She rolled her eyes and put her hand on her head. I'm not sure if I offended her or if her dog died earlier and she just remembered????!!! So she replies "I assumed you understood when I said it had to be a new sale- the money went back to the person who bought it" I ASSUMED she knew it was a GIFT, since she took it out of a hot pink GIFT bag with a GIFT message on the receipt. It's not about the money, I can afford a few pairs of socks and baby girl tights, it's about the nasty attitude when it wasn't MY fault I got a GIFT that needed EXCHANGING. She then called her manager over who just stared and had nothing to say. Thanks for the help bud. Over all this place stinks. The employees are terrible, have bad attitudes, not helpful, don't thoroughly explain and are miserable. I'll never come here again especially when down the hall there are much cute options for baby clothes, h&m, zara, Janie & jack, Nordstrom. Goodbye gap. You lost a customer for ever. read more

I visited this Gap in Roosevelt Field Mall today. Such a horrific experience. I ordered men's shoes on line to give as an xmas gift. When purchasing on line, it asks, "is this a gift?" So I responded "Yes", with that the price was not on the receipt. I had to return the shoes and I called the store, in advance, to make sure I can return online items in the store. They told me "yes", so I proceeded to the mall. When I approached the cashier ( a tall brown haired, young, caucasian girl), instead of her greeting me, "She said out loud, "We should stop accepting shoes in the store because we don't sell shoes and they just sit in the corner on the floor". As she proceeded to do the transaction, she asked me if it was a gift? And am I the purchaser? Both responses were "yes". She then told me, I had to get a gift card because it was a gift. How insane! I used a credit card to pay for it, and I was the person who purchased it, and I had the form of payment with me. She then looked over to a short, stout hispanic woman, and pretty much told her to come and do this, as she stepped back (how disrespectful she was to her manager). Her manager came over, and told me I had to get a gift card, because I chose the gift option. I told her I didn't want that because thats not my original form of payment. She ended up saying I ordered it online, and they are not online employees. She then asked me to get a gift card from the rack. She did some type of transaction, and gave me 2 receipts plus a gift card, and told me its refunded back to my credit card - this remains to be seen. While performing the transaction, she complained through the whole process. Telling me I need to read the choices I choose when I'm ordering. Really? I meant to choose it as a gift, I made a selection I wanted, it so happens that the person the gift was for, lives with me. But that shouldn't matter, I'm the purchaser with the original credit card available. As the manager walked away, the cashier had to continue with my additional returns on another online receipt (this one I did not choose as a gift, so it was nice and easy for the obviously LAZY cashier, who can't deal with anything that isn't straightforward). The manager was on the side folding clothes, and she continued speaking out loud as to how this process of returning online items to the store should be changed, and yelled out to her cashiers to be on the lookout for online returns. I went over to her, and told her, this is a conversation she needs to be having with headquarters, not an angry lashing out in front of the customer. In addition, if she wants to brief her employees, she can have that in a morning briefing, or pull them aside when no customers are in the area, to discuss it. It's really RUDE, and DISRESPECTFUL to discuss this in front of a line of customers, as if I did something wrong. Because of this...I will be returning ALL the items I purchased from the GAP, and the GAP will no longer be a vendor I use. Be on the lookout for my next experience, as I am going back to that store to return my other items. read more

Love this gap, so clean and minimal in design. Easy to find what you want, new arrivals and full priced in the front then in the back, some sales/clearance rack. Only thing I do not like is the long lines sometimes over on the weekend. read more

The people who work here are helpful and friendly. The sales here are amazing. They have a lot of people working here so the line goes fast. Had a great experience in this Gap yesterday late afternoon. I couldn't find a size in something I wanted. One of their associates, David, came along and used his handheld device to check the inventory in Roosevelt Field along with several other local Gaps, then told me how they could order it send to my house when I was at the checkout counter. He also pointed out the buy 1 get 50% off sale on everything that applied to the purchase (which I didn't know about). He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable - you don't see this level of service often, which was why I had to write about it. The other person (a male, didn't get his name) at the checkout counter was also very nice and very professional. I ended up buying 12 items. read more
