Tuesday March 5th Mr. Garafano visited a property I have that needs a kitchen to be remodeled. He arrived on time, he introduced himself but we received no business card. Mr. Garafano explained thoroughly what needs to be done to remain compliant and what steps he will take. We were pleased with the information. Yet at the end no estimate was given, he requested an email address as that would be his way of communicating with us, but we haven't heard back. Why? How long does it take to get an estimate? This company has great reviews from Angie List, Yelp, Google and BBB. Is it where the property is located? I'm quite disappointed but we move forward. We installed a heat pump for the house. Garafano had to do the wiring to make it pass code. And it did. Then we installed a heat pump for the pool and they installed the wiring which meant they had to drill through a concrete wall, run the wiring in a trench and install breakers to code. It passed Glendale inspection without a hitch. They do hard jobs and easy jobs. And they get it done the right way. Highly recommend. read more

I hired Garafano - worked with William and Ross - to retire an old home with lathe and plaster walls, and knob and tube wiring. They came recommended by a friend who had also had to rewrite an old home. They did a great job, and William was highly responsive. Their quote was competitive, they were great on the site - helpful, did a bit of extra work as they came across issues, and they really strives to minimize the amount of holes in the walls. read more

Wow! What Great Service and a Great Company! Cordial and thoughtful. Had 2 new 220 volt lines run for 2 new AC/Heating units. William, owner, showed up and gave me 2 written estimates, breaking the job in half, if I wanted, within 24 hours. Once I approved of the whole job, 3 of his associates showed up just prior to the AC/Heater guys. They spent 3 hours that day, and later 2 of them returned to wire up the installed Air Conditioners. Company has been around since 1968 and it shows. Couldn't be happier and totally recommend them!! read more

We have used garafano before and they did a nice job but I had to endure a disgruntled rude employee. I was told he was having personal challenges so I let it go and things were fine. Recently we needed to add an outlet so I called garfanos office and spoke to a lady. I told Her about the job and she said William would call me that day or the next. 4 days went by and luckily I found another electrician who took care of me because 6 days later the lady called me and asked if I still needed a job done. No call from William as promised and no apologies from the lady who works there. read more

This electrician was so off the hook today.. not only did he come fast to assess, he made the extra effort to repair it today...he is clean cut and professional...(not like a normal electrician). He's been doing this since he was 18...as soon as he saw the job he knew spot on what needed to be done...but he went beyond that...he double checked factory recommendations for voltage, found out we had a larger circuit than we needed, pushing too much power. Then he also replaced our fuses on the AC that were not correct either, acceptable, but not correct. Then he asked since he changed our panel all around and forgot his black pen remover if one of his employees can come tomorrow and relabel the circuits so we know which ones control what...I was like "ummmm YES" . Total bill was so reasonable. I'll be keeping his contact forever!! I'm so impressed!! read more

An entire section of the outlets my wall went dead around, say Halloween. I procrastinated and made up for the handicap by using extension cords until just before Christmas, then I finally called Garafano, for no other reason that they were close to my house. An electrician showed up about 17 minutes late (I think that is reasonable) and spent roughly two hours figuring out the nature of my problem and fixing it. The electrician (Rene) then pinpointed the flaw to a faulty garbage disposal that sent twice the current to other outlets, or something like that. I give him a lot of credit for figuring this out, as I had another guy come a few months earlier who did some unrelated electrical wiring but who, as a result of the analysis, should have suspected something was awry with my connections. Overall, I am happy with the work Rene did, and cannot speak for any other employees of the company. Since talent resides within each individual, I will venture to say that next time I call Garafano I will specifically ask for this employee. Oh, their rates are pretty standard in the business. read more

Garafano Electric worth the price I had two HVAC installers bid for a new packaged roof unit we were installing to replace our 65-year old LOUD and INEFFECTUAL split system. Each recommended an electrician to provide a pathway to the roof AND a new upgraded electrical panel. We went with the less expensive HVAC installer (knowing he was highly recommended), but used the other installer's recommended electrician, i.e., Garafano. Why did we choose Garafano when 1) they were more expensive and 2) they'd never worked with our chosen HVAC installer? Because of William's personal delivery, experience, and knowledge (even pointing out the potentially non-performing breakers in our existing panel). I was also impressed with William's office help, Carly, who was very personable and responsive via phone and email. I knew I made the right decision, when William showed up to meet the inspector a week before the work was scheduled. He then met the inspector the following Monday after the work was done, too! And even though the work, scheduled to take one day took two (even with his experienced electrician, Roger) Garafano stayed until the job was done! When DWP came a week later to do their connections, I asked, "Did the electrician do a good job?" "Why," he asked, "Did you have problems with them?" "No, not at all. I was very impressed with them, but they weren't the cheapest." Wherein he said, "You're smart, you don't want to go with the cheapest for this kind of work." I have used Garafano a few times over the years and just recently when a part of the house did not have any power. An after hours call to a 24/7 company brought somebody to our place who could not find the problem and told me the troubleshooting, finding, and repairing the cause of the outage would cost $2250 or 2800(with certification) plus the service fee of $129.95 for coming. The next day I called Garafano, they came an hour later, did a very thorough and competent search for the problem, found it, improved some of the wirings and connections and charged for two hours of work $300. I only have praise for the professional work of Garafano's electricians, the fast, friendly, and competent service! Always a great experience!! read more

I just had William over to my place on the westside of town. [My mother and grandmother have used his services before and were very pleased with his work.] He did a great job installing a few existing and new ceiling-mount light fixtures and a wired smoke detector. He also installed a brand new ceiling fan with light. He was prepared for when the ceiling fan switch was unusable and the smoke detector was not the right size. He was on time, completed the work in a timely manner, and did not leave a mess. The woman who works at the office was also very helpful in conveying messages to William and was more than happy to help me out with a few questions before my appointment.
