Awesome shop that know what they are doing. Took my FJ cruiser that I owned for about a year, in to…read moreget valve cover gaskets done and gear oil changed. They did a great jobs with the repair and gave me an honest evaluation on my rig for things that it needed. The people there are friendly, down-to-earth, and hardworking. It was easy to get a quote and the owner will give you different options depending on your budget and even to pay with paypal credit. All in all, Moonlight off-road I would go and continue to go to get my FJ rolling over rocks again.

Epic! Trying to explain the customer service, knowledge, value, correspondence, and overall…read moresatisfaction is difficult, but epic would be the appropriate word choice. Michael (owner) makes you feel like your Jeep is his Jeep. He keeps you up to date along the way, has even a drop box option to fit everyone's tight schedule to pick-up/drop-off, & and will ensure the job is done to your satisfaction. We had a total of around (2) dozen items addressed between the engine, suspension, exhaust, and electrical work and all were completed within a reasonable time and extremely competitive price point. Alyssa (Head Mechanic) knows her stuff. She quickly diagnosed and listened to what my wife and I had concerns with and did not stop until she tackled them all. Her expertise is hard to find. She has all the tools needed to ensure our 97 TJ was fixed correctly to almost like new running condition. Overall, the integrity of this shop is what will have us coming back and has earned our business for life. If you want an honest, well communicated, fair priced shop that can handle any job you throw their way....Look no farther.

Since the most recent Yelp review of Alamo Classic Ponies (ACP) was posted several years ago, I…read morebelieve now is a good time to share a more recent experience. ACP has been in business for at least a couple Decades dedicated to the service and preservation of early Mustangs, Cougars, Falcons & Fairlanes. Their service shop is typically packed with many classic Fords either in service bays or, the parking lot. I recently acquired a '65 Mustang where the previous owner neglected the car for several years. So, based on a Google search of Classic Mustang Mechanics, I discovered Alamo Classic Ponies. I first wanted a Front Disc Brake conversion installed to improve the safety & stopping power of the original single circuit drum brake system. The car also required a Major Tune-Up and finally, I wanted to install a new Carburetor which would again fix a problem the previous Owner created. I was asked to write a deposit check to start the ordering of the major components and to place my Work Order on a higher priority to be completed. However, it took ACP over a month to order & receive the brake components and another month for the work to be completed. So much for having my $1,500 deposit prioritize my Work Order. The work was eventually completed. The final invoice included additional work which was added by ACP without authorization. To be honest, I would have approved some of the additional work and perhaps deferred the installation of 4 shocks for a later time. The additional work would have been done eventually, I just wish there was better communication on what was being added. In the end I spent more money than I anticipated. My Mustang is back in my garage now and I have enjoyed a couple weekend drives through the Hill Country. As with any Classic Car, there is always a list of things which need attention but, this is part of the joy of owning such a vehicle. I recommend Alamo Classic Ponies for the service and attention they provide. I would suggest, if you're a new Customer, to get as much information in writing before any work is done on your vehicle. Most correspondence is done through e-Mail. It may save you some surprises later if you are specific about what you expect to have done on your Classic Muscle Car. I hope this helps & Happy Motoring.

Do NOT go to this business if you want nice service. We have a 66 Mustang and I went by to ask…read moreabout some parts and the mechanic was very rude (appeared prejudiced and racial) and just told me to go away. SAD.
