I took my 1980 Triumph TR-7 to EKG and they made me believe that they had worked on these British cars in the past. Although parts have to be found in used good condition, that's exactly what I did and provided them with everything they asked for. They rebuilt the original dual carburators and charged me a whopping $600. Well, I had to provide them with additional refurbished carburators since the one they worked on didn't perform as advertised; so didn't even use them. The extra refurbished carbs I ordered from Atlanta, GA, cost me $350 plus all the other parts I provided them. Well, nine weeks later and over $1,300 to EKG, my car was returned with the same problem I originally took it in for. I had to get my car towed back home. The lesson learned here is make sure you get an entire quote of how much the entire job will cost before they keep adding more hours of labor into your classic car. Very dissapointed in EKG Gaston's Automotive buffoonery. read more

FYI, if you need car repairs and don't have a trusted mechanic please use EKG GASTON'S. They are absolutely the best! I learned about then from a professor and they have never lied or let me down. Turns out my step-brother even used to work for them. For example, a friend had an issue with her lights inside and outside flickering. Everywhere she went said it would cost over $600, $700, $1000. I told her to take it to them and turns out it was just a loose wire and only cost $7. Only seven dollars. They are so good and honest, I can't imagine going anywhere else. They're at 1115 Basse, SAT 78212 tell# 210 733-1940. I've ALWAYS been able to tow my car there from anywhere even when they're closed and they'll tell you where to leave the keys. read more

For almost a decade we have been taking cars to EKG, and even purchased a vehicle that they had rebuilt. I also have an old Honda Ridgeline, that I have been taking to a local dealer for years, and they were trying to suggest I needed an engine rebuild or new engine. I was very concerned and called Eddie @ EKG, he gave my truck a really good look-thru, and told me there was nothing serious or of great concern. My family and I have been going to this shop on/off for about a decade. They've always been honest and polite people who run the place. Whenever other mechanics have failed to solve issues correctly, I bring it here and have never had to return on behalf of a poor job. A super thorough crew who will let you know if there's any minor issues they catch on your vehicle or suggest preventative maintenance measures to be taken. I also know a family who held on to their old BMW for close to 20 years, and I found it cool they also took that car to EKG Gaston's. I believe they specialize in import/exotic but the most exotic thing I've ever taken there is a Subaru. Still, whenever I want a job done right, and I care about my car, I go here. read more

So my Corvette would not start. So I took it to EKG Gastons. i was charged $100.00 to diagnose it. I was told it was the fuel pump. $650.00 to replace the fuel pump and a couple of other minor small issues. The car wouldn't start so they charged me another $100.00 to rediagnose. Was told it had a blown ECM fuse. Drove the car home and it would not start. Took it back to EKG. Was not satisfied with the outcome. I'm out $650 and a car that won't start. Wants to charge me another $100.00 to diagnose it some more. It has an electrical short so I doubt there was anything wrong with the fuel pump. Then he advised me to that for $250.00 he would replace my ignition switch to see if that would take care of the problem. They got it to crack and start but it died. So I doubt it's the ignition switch. Their Facebook page says that they offer 10% off on all parts. That was not honored. This dude Eddie is more concerned with MONEY then he is customer satisfaction. I won't tell you not to go there but will advise that you've been warned. Go there at your own risk. read more

Recommended by a friend...took my Jaguar in to get fuel pump replaced. Parts used did not last a year when they should have lasted 15 plus. Not only that but my evap canister was damaged during the change. This mechanic used airplane glue as a fix...never took the accountability of breaking the canister. I would not recommend this mechanic...if they still call themselves mechanics. read more
