We've had Garage Door Services replace a broken spring in the past, and because of their good service we contacted them when we were having problems with the opener itself. Hunter came out yesterday, well within the window of time promised, and did a nice, thorough replacement job. We talked about what all he would be doing, he did it, and he swept up when he finished. He left the work area better than he found it, which I appreciate very much. Obviously it's great having a reliable opener again, but both my wife and I really appreciate the improvements they've made in the two decades since our original unit was designed. Paul came out and was supposed to look at my garage door. He didn't look at anything and said, "yup, you're going to need a new unit." When I said, no, I'm not doing that because I don't believe that, he THEN acted he was looking at the wires, and said, well, we could do a new motor then but can't guarantee it will work sooo, best to get a new unit. You have to pay the $40 fee for them to come out to not even observe anything and tell you this information. I highly recommend you try somewhere else first. Recently had a spring break on one of my garage doors. For some reason I am in the habit of immediately contacting Omaha Door & Window. They seem to have fair prices; however upon contacting them I was informed they would not be able to come for 3 days. This is what prompted me into expanding my horizons on garage door repair, and so glad I did. I found GDS and called to ask if they could come the same day. It hadn't been a good day for me and only got worse when I came home and my garage door wouldn't open, so was willing to pay extra if that is what it took to get my door fixed. The gentleman that showed up was extremely nice. He fixed my garage door quickly, and to my surprise the cost was CHEAPER than Omaha Door & Window. The next time I have a spring break on a garage door, I will go directly to GDS! Friendly, professional and reasonably priced. Even better....quick service!! read more

Worst phone customer service. The tech that comes to your home is nice. He tried but right after leaving the door was not working right. I called back and was told no service until next day and was treated like they were doing me a favor. The tech had also changed my code on entry box which I requested. He did come back a day later and all was working including key pad until 7 days later. No key pad caused lock out of my house for three hours. I called for another service call and was treated again like they are doing me a favor. I was told that the tech did not change the code but he did. Why would I want all this hassle? Did I enjoy being locked out - no. Do I enjoy needing service over and over - no. No return service available until the end of the week. They never need to worry over coming back. If you need someone to repair your garage door, call Garage Door Services first! The first company I called gave me an estimate of $1500 to fix my garage door. I won't name that company but they sure didn't give me an estimate with a lot of "precision". Garage Door Services came the next day and Reubin fixed my garage door for $200. We had a garage door opener replaced by Andre. He pulled out the noisy 25+ year old opener and installed a newer, faster and *quieter* opener in just a couple hours. He also installed an outdoor keypad, routed the indoor controls to a more convenient location, and advised us on how to take care of the new system. I've had GDS come three times to repair a broken spring, fix an old heavy garage door, and replace the opener. Always great service and fair prices. So today I'm getting the new garage door I've wanted since we bought the house, and, of course, I picked GDS to purchase the door and installation. It's going great, looks beautiful and the installation is perfect. New tracks, perfectly aligned, everything you would expect. GDS does great work. Awful customer service would be an understatement. I had a simple service call scheduled last Friday with their eta of 2-3p. It was after 4 when I called them, only to find out no one was going to make it to my house that day. Wouldn't have been an issue but (and they knew this beforehand) I work overnights so waking up in time to ensure I was ready for them in the time frame I was given cut me to 4 hours of sleep. There was also a snowstorm that weekend that my car was left outside in because of this. The woman assured me they would come Monday between 2-3. When I called after 4 (again after barely sleeping after work based around their word) the woman on the phone was incredibly rude. She said I was wrong, that wasn't the time frame I was given by the other woman & that they would for sure be there before 5. The serviceman (the only pleasant person I dealt with within this company) showed up after five, fixed something we already had done (which he knew) & didn't even put the pieces back on the main part before leaving. They refused to simply take accountability. Save your money & go with a company who appreciates your business! read more

I would choose a different Garage Door Service to go with. We had an opener that quit working and we needed a new opener, we have two single garage doors so we just decided to replace both at the same time, we order the newest openers - don't order the newest and the best! If you have a car older then 2017 they won't work with your homelink in your car. After trying several times to program our cars and taking hours - I finally called GDS to see what the issue could be. The people answering the phones were so rude! They made me feel like I didn't know anything, how could it be so hard? Oh, and you need a different part (repeater) that we didn't tell you about. I asked why they just didn't tell me that in the first place and just add to the new openers cost? We gave you a remote just use that in your car. Needless to say no customer service in this encounter from GDS. We finally bought the repeater part had them bring it out and install it - connected the cars to work. Worked for about a month and now the homelink on the mirrors are not working again! Is it the repeater? Am I wanting to call and deal with this wonderful customer service - NO. After spending $900 with this company - I'm very disappointed. read more
