I had already looked up the prices for the springs which were around $85 a piece. So to try and charge $200 for one spring was ridiculous. I then called Overhead Door Company just to compare. It was a similar service charge, but the person explained that the service charge was the labor cost and the only other charge would be for the springs which were $120 a piece. I appreciate that there will be a mark up on parts to cover costs and I also appreciated the way she explained it to me. She set up an appointment for the next day. The man called and came out as promised, replaced the springs in about 30 minutes. It actually was a very easy process and I needed that today!! I did consider replacing the springs myself, but looking back, it was well worth the service charge and the little mark up on the parts to have it done professionally.
