Wow what a Yelp find...thanks to the reviews that prompted us to check this place out. Key West is an expensive place, and after visiting Blue Heaven, a casual chochky tourist trap with $30+/plate entrées, what we likened to Hymans Seafood in my own tourist town of Charleston, Garbo's was a welcome change with generous portions of delicious hand-held food for a reasonable price. The food truck shares real estate space with a bar, so head directly to the back of the property to place your food order, reserving one of the outdoor iron tables on the way, then grab a drink in the bar while you wait for the electronic indicator to flash, indicating that your order is ready for pick up. There's three protein options, and each can be ordered as two tacos or a burrito. My only qualm is no vegetarian option on the printed menu, but they may be able to accommodate; I didn't ask. I loved the yum yum shrimp Korean style...Cayo style seemed like it would be a little too sweet. My friends ordered the Korean bbq, which evidently was really delicious, and another friend tried the fish burrito --they were serving mahi. I even shared some of the shrimp out of my burrito since the shrimp/bite ratio was so high! These girls have it down. A well oiled machine. Turning out tasty food slightly off the beaten path. The best food we had all week...and we had some good food! My wife and I ordered heavy and split the Umami Burger, the Korean BBQ tacos, and the mango dog. They were all spectacular. Awww....the highlight of our vacation. I got the cayo fish tacos. One of the best fish tacos I've eaten. They were generous with the amount of fish, perfect amount of spice, and tastes heavenly. The portion size is plenty. It was difficult to find at first as it's set back behind another restaurant in a trailer. The extra time it took was totally worth it. After going on a snorkelling tour off the cruise ship as we were at port, we asked the lifeguard on the snorkelling boat wheres a good place to go and eat around here. He proceeded to explain to my father and i how to get too garbo's grill. As we walked from the shore to the trailer we walked through and alley passed a couple hundred people and even encountered a few cats. Looking at my dad with fear in my eyes of where this man was sending us we quickly approached grabs grill. A "patio a driveway" full of people with only 2 table empty. We quickly grabbed the empty table and went in line to order our food. We got the fish tacos and the mango hotdog. Everything was out of this world. The flavours worked so well together that we just wanted to order more and more. The outdoor restaurant was clean and very well kept. All the food coming out of the trailer looked absurdly extraordinarily good. If we had the choice we would have stayed here for the entire day and just eaten more and more of there food. The mango hotdog had the right combination of sweet and spicy, it tastes like a fiesta in your mouth. For a person who hates fish the tacos made me fall in love with fish. Disappointed! We have been coming to Garbo's Grill for 5 years now, every time we come to key west we make it our priority to come to this spot. This year, we were extremely disappointed with the food. We ordered the fish burrito and shrimp burrito bowl. The fish and shrimp alone were delicious, but the rest of the burrito was red cabbage.
