They used to be ok when they were on Main St. in El Cajon. Now... horrible. They short me 5 - 15% every time. When I complain, the old man gets angry and tells me "I'm not giving you more than you pay for" and does NOT EVEN LISTEN. All I asked for is WHAT I PAID FOR. The last time (and final time) I got wood, he was not friendly (he knows who I am) and a total you-know-what. They straight up lied when I asked them if the oak they were selling was seasoned. The wood was so wet, when I split it, I could soak up the moisture with paper towel. I split it into 2 inch sticks, it still barely burned. The only redeeming fact is that I can save it for next year. These guys are a total rip off. And they know it. I'm never going back, ever. I would literally pay twice the cost for better service and quality wood. Don't go here if you want firewood, go anywhere else. read more

Fernando was very helpful explaining the uses of the different types of wood available. Red oak, almond, eucalyptus, pecan, avocado, & pinion pine were available at the time and we got a variety of of oak, almond, and eucalyptus to try out. The price was the same for all woods at $25 a barrow. They also picked it from the bunch and loaded it onto the car for us. We were mainly using the wood for firewood and none of them caught fire very well. I felt like they weren't seasoned enough. I might give it another shot and try the oak on my smoker, but for using it as a primary heat source, it will take some serious work to get it going without using a bunch of wood. read more

It was mid week and already dark. I thought they were still open so I went to pick up some wood. Turns out they had been closed for a few hours already but the owner was still there working. He was very kinda and helpful and still let me purchase what I needed! He even loaded up the wood in my car for me and I didn't even ask. The firewood was great and burned so well! I've ordered several times from Garcia's (I think both owners). While it may be a little tough to initially get them on the phone once you're able to connect the service is fantastic! They'll walk you through the different options and make recommendations, then set a day for delivery. The delivery is the best!!! They are always super friendly and so careful when stacking the wood. The spot I have for storing firewood is up against my neighbor's garage, I've never ever had to ask to make sure things are not touching. The Garcia's team is so careful in the way they place things, even the ore flow stacked on my porch is set away from the columns so there is no damage. I bought two wheel barrows full of walnut and the wood. I was told that the wood might be a little moist from the frost that formed on it. The wood has been sitting in my garage for 4 weeks and it is still pretty damp. It doesn't burn well, pops, fizzles, and spits embers in my Solo Stove. Garcia's Firewood was great! I decided to go with an actual business this time around as compared to just buying off of Craigslist. The last time I bought off Craigslist we had some very shady people show up that we didn't feel comfortable with who ended up giving us a questionable amount of wood that wasn't very dry. Garcia's was the opposite of that experience, they were professional, polite, and quick. Even called to see if they could deliver earlier than the arranged time. They backed up the truck in the front driveway and brought wheelbarrows to get it all into the back yard. Did a great job stacking it too. Not very impressed. Wood is rotten and obviously was taken from dead, beatlle invested trees. Doesn't burn very well and smoke quite a bit. Very frustrating to say the least. Pieces are way too big and I had to spilt it up into smaller pieces. My house just smells of smoke. I am better off burning duraflames at this point. Drove there on my birthday after getting a big metal cart to move firewood and looking forward to the grocery carts full of wood. What I found was better. Stopped by here on the way to Anza Borrego to get campfire wood, it was quick, easy, and conveniently right off the 8. Paid $20 for a wheelbarrow amount of wood, which is way better than the bundles at ralphs or vons. All the wood pieces were split and cut and had no issues catching fire and burning for a long time.
