I had a chance for overtime that day, which I turned down to make sure I was home by 4:30 to meet with Jeremy. 4:30 came and went, and I was sitting around, waiting on him to show up. At 5:15 I call him and ask what is going on. He is very apologetic and saying "oh man" several times and starts talking about how bad the traffic is but says he can be at my house by 6 PM. I'm a little upset, but I agree to wait until 6 and meet with him. 6 PM comes by. . .and nothing. At 6:30, now two hours after our original appointment and 30 minutes after he just told me he'd be there a little over an hour prior, he's still not there. I call again, and he just starts saying "oh man" over and over again, and mumbles something about traffic being bad. He says maybe he can be there a little after 7 PM. No. I said no. I'll find someone else. If someone is this bad at simply keeping an appointment, and bad at communication that he can't communicate if he's going to be late, why should I trust him with a project at my home?

While another tree service said our only option was to cut down the entire tree, the Lopez team dealt solely with the broken limb. We may later lose the tree but Mr Lopez was open to working to save it, at least for as long as possible. He also showed us where it was compromised and it another piece fell, how that would happen, which comforted us to know it was far from the house and cars. He provided an estimate during the discussion and his team came the following afternoon. They didn't hurt our yard with equipment and didn't leave a mess of wood chips. There's other work we will opt to do later when the expense can be budgeted rather than a surprise. I hate that our tree was hurt and paying money for the fix also hurt! Several of our neighbors recommend and use this team. We will also recommend them to others.

Julio came over to discuss the project and what I wanted done. I needed a large limb removed that had fallen and lodged on my roof. I needed the limbs over my roof trimmed back. And I needed a massive, half-dead limb removed from my neighbor's tree that covering and threatening half my deck. I'll bet it weighed in at a ton. He explained how he would do it, gave me what I considered a reasonable price, and we set up a time. With other companies I've had bent gutters, cracked sidewalks, fence and deck boards. Not with Julio. He and his crew were careful and meticulous. Everything was either handed down or lowered by rope. It was cut up, hauled through the alley, and chipped at the curb. He showed me before and after pictures of the roof. And when they left, my deck and sidewalks were cleaner than when they got here. I used Tree Care, Inc. for a large maple tree at my rental property in October 2024. At that time,…read moreI paid $1,590 total for the work. The scope included elevating the tree away from the house, reducing weight as needed, removing dangerous deadwood from the canopy, and lightly thinning the interior to allow wind through. About 21 months later, a large limb from the same tree broke during a storm. I contacted the company again and asked them to inspect the tree and determine what needed to be done. I was then sent Proposal #25453 for $2,650 for "trimming of limbs over the home back to fork." I did not accept the proposal because I felt the price was extremely high, especially considering I had already paid nearly $1,600 less than two years earlier for significant safety-related pruning on this same tree. After I didn't respond, they sent another proposal with the same proposal number and same basic scope of work, but the price had suddenly dropped to $2,120. That's a $530 difference without any explanation as to why the original price was $2,650 or why the price could suddenly be reduced. Before making any decision, I emailed them and asked some very reasonable questions: Why was this much additional work necessary less than two years after the previous pruning? How did this work differ from what they had already done? Did the recent storm reveal new structural problems? And why was the new work more expensive than the previous work when the description was actually less detailed? They never responded. That's ultimately what has left me most disappointed. I'm not opposed to paying for necessary tree work, and I understand that a major storm can cause a limb to fail even when a tree has previously been maintained. What I expected was an explanation from the company that performed the original work. Instead, I'm looking at roughly $3,700 in tree trimming over less than two years, and at that point I'm seriously questioning whether repeatedly spending $2,000+ every couple of years makes sense versus removing the tree altogether. I gave them an opportunity to explain the pricing and the recommended work before leaving this review, but they chose not to respond. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them and will be getting other opinions before spending another dollar on this tree.

As the morning went on he continued to communicate with me and ask me questions about each tree to make sure I got what I needed with out hurting the trees that they were trimming. I have dealt with many contractors in my past and what really impressed me is they showed up on time, completed the job that I requested in the amount of time quoted and for the price that was quoted.
