The owner, Kevin (I believe), came out the first time to climb into our attic & assess/draw up a quote. His office called the next day to set up a timeline for a full system replacement. His crew arrived on time, nice and early, lining the entire stair well/work area with clean drop cloths. What a great group of professional guys! All very hard workers, friendly, and seemed to take a lot of pride in their work~ they replaced the entire system in the time quoted...two days. They cleaned up after themselves the entire time, then went over everything with a shop vac before giving a final rundown~ great job and our new system is so quiet and efficient! Our heater quit working on the Friday night of a holiday weekend. Tuesday morning I called in to see if I could get someone scheduled to look at it and they gave me a same day appointment. The technician they sent out, Eddie, was friendly, and pretty quickly identified the problem, a worn out igniter. He replaced it, tested everything and was done in under an hour. What's worse than a 115 degree Redding Summer Day? Answer - A Redding 115 degree day with a broken A/C. Our A/C recently started blowing warm air, so we called several Air Conditioning Companies, including the people we bought our A/C system from. All of them wanted us to wait for weeks to come out an fix our A/C. Gard Heating & Air was so awesome, I called and spoke with Stephanie and she hooked us up quickly. As it turns out, we weren't the only ones that had a bad A/C, so there service schedule was full for the day. The owner of the company, Kevin Gard drove out after 5 PM and looked at our A/C that day. It is super rare today to have someone that cares so much for their customers and their well being. Kevin not only came out, but he quickly diagnosed the problem, made a few calls, and came back with the part that same night. By 8:00 PM our A/C was fixed, and I would be able to sleep in a comfortable house. Look, we were so impressed with Gard's professionalism and quick service, we called them back out to install a new thermostat for our HVAC System that allows us to control the HVAC from anywhere with my I Phone. The wife and I downloaded the App for the phone and love it, because we can cool down the house when we are on the way home, or turn the heater on remotely. The WiFi Thermostat and installation were very reasonably priced, and the service was again excellent. I will definitely call Gard Heating & Air in the future if I have any HVAC issues again. Gard put in a new AC and furnace for us last September. Also added a duct and made a return bigger. Kevin the owner himself came out, got in my attic and quoted the job. What a breath of fresh air that was. These days it's hard to even get a return call. The guys who came out and did the job were the most respectful, kind, clean guys and it was hotter then hell! I had a very difficult access to remove the furnace, but they got it done and didn't complain once. Everyone down to the front office staff is so kind, and it was so fairly priced it was an easy decision to go with Gard having 5 quotes done. The employees spoke so highly of Kevin as well and that goes a long way when people are happy in their careers to me. We will be using Gard for all our needs from here on out. read more

They came out to assess our AC unit. Another company had said we needed a new AC. The tech was knowledgeable, friendly and just provided excellent customer service. He replaced a couple parts and was only here for an hour. Definitely recommend them or AC problems. read more

Stephanie the office secretary stinks and can't do her job but everyone else I've dealt with is fantastic especially technicians.

Gard installed a new coil but they install an underside one. They did replace it with the right one but did not properly solder /weld the joint connecting it to the refrigerant lines. The joint leaked all the refrigerant rendering the a/c unit inoperative. They would not make the repair without charging another $850 which was additional to the $275 I had paid to diagnose the leak. They said their work was out of warranty. Because of this and because I had not operated the air conditioning unit since they made the solder/weld joint which had a hidden defect, I agreed to pay $400 of this amount . Mr. Gard would not agree. The technician who came out to my house to make the diagnosis came a half hour late for his appointment and was on his cell phone nearly half of the time he was here. He would not agree to make the repair while he was here even though when I sent up the appointment I was under the impression he would. In my judgment, Gard is not a good heating and air contractor. Get some else. read more
