Garden Catering is better than Chick-fil-A! There I said it and I'm going to stick beside it lol! I've patronized the original in Greenwich, CT for many years when I was a lifeguard in Stamford in the early 2000's. The guards and myself would have this for lunch on a daily basis and this place is nostalgic! So yes, there may be some bias in reviewing this location...I like it a lot. I was in town visiting my parents for the week and I found out there was a garden catering in Norwalk! The location was clean and organized. It was easy to order online or over the phone. They had shelves to pick up your order and head out or pay depending on how you completed your order. The chicken pieces were large nuggets of white meat, fries, with the optional seasoning added to the bag of the special (what I knew as the high school which was the original name). The sauce options are the icing on the cake. The honey mustard is my favorite while it was still good it was a bit more watered down from what I remembered it. All in all I was satisfied and glad that there is a location that I can easily patronize. read more

Garden Catering used to be one of my favorite go-to lunch spots. Unfortunately, things have gone severely downhill. I've given them 3 more tries after my first bad meal and each one continues to get worse. The nuggets are incredibly overcooked, dry, and almost inedible. My favorite honey hot sauce is a different taste and color everytime. When I ask, the answer always is "oh we must have messed up the ratio". To put the nail in the coffin, the prices have gone way up. It's over $7 for a junior special and if you want them to toss the nuggets in one of the sauces, they charge an extra dollar. They've become skimpy with the sauces as well. At my last visit, the container was only about a quarter full. The price increase and quality decrease must be due to the installation of the new sign outside "best nuggets ever" rather than the actual Garden Catering name. If someone isn't familiar with your store, good luck getting them to find you. read more

Went out and got Caesar wrap. When I got the wrap it was really soggy and it seemed like they Paninipressed it. I get the wraps all the time from the one in Stamford . They do not do it like that. The consistency of the lettuce was like spinach. When I called to ask if they can make it over again, they told me if they didn't Panini press it it would fall apart to which I was going to say forget about it, but she hung up in my face before I could even finish my sentence. It seemed as if I was annoying her and she was upset that I was complaining. I work in food service myself, and this is not the way to treat customers. I wouldn't even feel comfortable going back to get a new sandwich because I feel like somehow it would magically end up on the floor.. or worse . I won't be back there. Do better read more

I've been eating Garden Catering for nearly 30 years, sometimes daily during high-school years. While this is not the original, they do hold the name and should therefore represent what that legendary name stands for. Unfortunately they fell way below the line with a recent Uber Eats order. Perhaps it was too late in the day, either way that shouldn't be an excuse. Missing item, no cover on shake during COVID, way too overcooked cones, not nearly enough seasoning, Uber site and bag showing missing one type of condiment yet another type was missing from the order. Norwalk's Garden Catering does not live up to the true legend. Go to Greenwich if you want the real deal. Even the taken over Roosters are better. read more

Have not been to Garden catering in a while, so I look up what time they closed for the night and decided to head over there seeing I had a half hour before they closed, only to find out when I walked in that the two guys working said they were closed? I said online, and on your door here, it says you're open until 9? They said the kitchen had already been closed down. They were sweeping the floor and had half the lights off. I was not the only customer turned away seeing two other families pulled up also. So I told one of them they were closed as they were getting out of their car. If you are open until 9pm, then service should be until 9 pm, then clean up. Not go home at 9 pm! I'm very disappointed! Date was 8/3/23 - 830pm. read more

Garden Catering used to be a favorite when I worked in Greenwich, so I'm happy to have a location here in Norwalk. I was very skeptical about the gluten free nuggets since they are often less than stellar, but the ones here are awesome! The bag was even marked as gluten free. The only thing to look out for is if you're super sensitive I think they use a shared fryer. That would be my only suggestion - set up a separate fryer for GF nuggets and fries and you'll get a ton of business from our local GF community! I was also not sure about using Uber Eats for delivery but everything arrived piping hot and crispy. I'll definitely be back! read more

I was craving Garden Catering nuggets for dinner. We got two Big Boy specials. One with fries and one with cones(mine). An order ot mac and cheese bites to finish it off and a couple cans of soda. The nuggets are always good. The cones were especially delicious. Not sure what changed but the mashed potatoes tasted creamier. The Mac and cheese bites were good but nothing spectacular. I would rate their food, but never got that far. Calling on the phone was futile, it disconnected every time I called. Took several minutes to enter my order on the website only to get error messages at checkout. Finally downloaded the app, ordered $85 worth of food on the app, repeated error messages at checkout, could not complete my order. Shame on Garden Catering. Go in at 8:30 (open till 9) and this is how they have the dining room! Not very welcoming. Now being in the food industry I would tell my customers when we don't have things right off......but the kid waits until the order is 1/2 in to say "Well....at 8:30 we shut our grills down, so u can get anything fried but not grilled". Post that on your website so 2 adults and 3 kids don't waste their time to come to your establishment for nothing. Won't be back ever! read more

Order lunch with some co-workers from Garden Catering in Norwalk, the only reason why I am rating them 3 stars is because they use Door Dash as their delivery service which took over an hour or more. Very disappointing that I was not able to enjoy the potatoes cones and chicken nuggets my co-workers raved about because they were stone cold. Garden Catering did comp us with an e-card but I was so excited and then let down so fast. Maybe next time will be a better experience because I will pick up the food as opposed to using Door Dash. read more

This location is nothing better than below average. It's a shame to say because it was a great location at times. It seem like it fell off. There is zero consistency when it comes to visits or orders. You can have attentive happy staff members one day and on other days it's people that couldn't care less. The food is 50/50 every time. One piece of chicken is awesome and fresh the next bite out of a new nugget tastes like it's 6 hours old. One cone can be crispy and delicious and the next is a soggy mess. I dont know what goes on here but the place flat out needs a leader. I hope they get it back together because I do enjoy the food and I know Norwalkers do as well. Not sure why this location has such poor ratings! Haven't been to the Greenwich one so can't compare, but I thoroughly enjoyed my hotsy breakfast sandwich. Got them for pickup around 9am after ordering on the app and they were ready upon arrival and warm/fresh. Bacon, egg, cheese, potato cones, and chili - for the amount on this sandwich it's surprisingly slim and clean. Can't wait to have it again. And looking forward to trying the chicken. read more

The seasoning plus sauce made it way too salty and inedible. The Mac and cheese bites were cold and didn't have any discernible macaroni or cheese. It was a squishy, oily, carby nugget which was breaded and fried. Sauce sides were plentiful but couldn't even use them because the food was so salty to begin with.
