I've only been to Rockford twice, and I've been here twice, so that's telling. I didn't even realize I had been here before until I walked in. The first time, my friend recommended Eggslusive and the second time, Yelp did. Anyway, service is quick and friendly, and prices are about what you'd expect for brunch unless you get an expensive special (which we did not ). I loved seeing items on the menu that I don't normally see on brunch menus like halal options, naan dishes, and Mediterranean meals, all of which I was tempted to get. I ended up getting the chicken tinga skillet and substituted to get something called simit as my side instead of toast. The waitress described it as kind of a pretzel bread, which I feel was accurate. Lots of sesame seeds, and it came with jam, which was delicious! The vibe is cozy and local, and come to find out that the business owner is Turkish, which we loved to know and support. I'm also not a bacon person, but I enjoyed the bacon here because I'm not a super super crispy bacon fan. The waitress was also super sweet and provided a coffee refill in a to-go cup for my husband to enjoy in the car on our way back towards Chicago. The only thing is that one of my poached eggs came out more hard boiled than runny, but everything else was great. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. I got the crabcakes Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was bland. You get eggs Benedict specifically for great hollandaise sauce and it tasted like it came from a jar. There was not a plethora of good food to be found in Rockford for us. Particularly if you were looking for something healthy. Perhaps I just did not know where to look. For this reason, I ordered from here two days in a row. I had two eggs, scrambled with cheese, EC crispy potatoes, and a pancake combo. The eggs were good; however, on the second day, a bit less cooked than I would have preferred. The pancakes were fantastic, and the potatoes were solid. One thing I don't love about Doordash here is that every restaurant we encountered did not allow for special requests. So, for here, that meant that something as simple as requesting ketchup, or cream and sugar for your coffee was not possible. A great experience and a great meal at the Eggsclusive Cafe. Although the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday morning we were sat and attended to quickly. Coffee and water was brought along with carafes to refill while we looked over the expansive menu. Bring an appetite because the portions are huge. Baked potato skillet was packed with bacon, onions, cheese and hash browns and the flavor was incredible, I loved it. If that wasn't enough food it came with 2 good sized pancakes as well. Nola omelette also packed with sausage, peppers, and onions was delicious. I think the menu said that the omelettes were made with 5 eggs. I was also impressed with how fast our entrees were served given how busy it was. I highly recommend the breakfast/brunch here but bring an appetite and a to go bag. This place is solid. Reminds me of what a classic American Diner used to be in the 90s, but with the quality you expect today. The prices are average, and many of the dishes are vast in portion size. But it varies, so you'll want to ask. I've ordered from the standard menu (which is new and streamlined now as of early January), and the special/seasonal menu. JUST THE TWO OF US A peaceful, delicious Sunday breakfast with my wife egg-ceeded both of our wildest egg-spectations. After spending the night in Rockford, we sought out a place nearby to grab a bite to eat before heading home. Eggclusive Cafe was the area's top result with a more-than-solid 4.2* rating on Yelp and a 4.5* on Tripadvisor. We asked for seating on their private outdoor patio, and they obliged. My better half loved her lavender vanilla cold brew ($6) and later on, the strawberry-orange mimosa ($8). Their bloody mary ($9) was spicy enough for my liking, and it came with a skewer of pickle/celery/olive/lemon. They also have screwdrivers and morning mules, so all of the boozy A.M. bases are covered. In an interesting turn of events, we flip-flopped orders. I've been a skillet guy my whole life, yet she was the one who couldn't resist the Mexicana skillet ($17): two eggs, chorizo, onion, jalapenos, cheese, sour cream, guac and salsa served over seasoned potatoes with tortillas. It got rave reviews, especially the potatoes (which she described as "magic"). I rarely order a combo (sweet item + eggs + meat) but on this morning I opted for the Cinna-bomb French toast combo ($15), and boy was I glad I did. The cinnamon swirl bread came with an incredible homemade cinnamon butter which gave the whole thing a VERY Cinnabon-esque flavor. It was nothing short of fantastic. They asked if I wanted my bacon 'regular' or 'crispy', which is the first time I've ever been prompted for my bacon preference. And let's not forget their initials 'EC' stenciled out in powdered sugar on the pancakes and French toast (a masterfully classy touch). Bread = 5 Circuses = 5 Service was great and the ambiance on their outdoor patio felt distinctly Mediterranean. To maintain the chill vibes, they have posted rules like what you'd see at a pool (no vaping, no running, no pets, etc). The stipulation that one "must order an alcoholic beverage" was a bit strange, though I imagine that's to discourage people from just ordering a coffee and sitting there. After much thought, I honestly do feel that the "no kids" policy on their patio is a good call. As a dad to a 2yr old toddler, quiet breakfasts at home have become a thing of the past.... being able to enjoy a relaxing, uninterrupted meal without screaming, dealing with flying bits of food, or hearing incessant kids tunes in the background was wonderful. I cannot overstate how enjoyable our breakfast was. * TL;DR * From start to finish, dining here was a most egg-cellent choice. Without knowing the area too much, I would say this is the best place around Rockford to eat before noon. Went here with five other family members before a trip home from Rockford. This place was extremely average. Nothing really stood out as great and the service was just ok. They were fairly fast with the coffee and left a tiny carafe on the table. The coffee was mediocre. It didn't have much flavor. It is not a matter of not strong or anything, it just didn't taste like anything. Once our food arrived the server was MIA so when we needed to refill the carafe or even get a glass of water, we couldn't. Continuing the theme the food was middling. The portions were massive with 5 egg omelets and a giant pile of potatoes. The omelets were as described. I had the veggie benedict which was piled with lots of veggies but the english muffin was what I can only described as smooshed. It was super dense and difficult to cut. It seemed as if they pressed it so it would be larger. It was just not very enjoyable. On a positive note the EC potatoes were well cooked and extremely flavorful. Another negative, the hashbrowns were dull, limp and flavorless. I think they would benefit from less is more. At $18 for an omelet, cut the portion in half and charge $15 and I bet they would not lose any business. At that point you can focus on quality vs. volume. $170 for breakfast for 6 is just a bit much for things I can do better at home. read more

Today (11/22/2025) I ordered the salmon lox plate. Cucumbers were shriveled and dried, salmon left slime on the plate and tomatoes and onions did not appear fresh. I let the host know my issue as we were leaving. Something has changed at this restaurant. This was our favorite stop for Saturday breakfast. We will not be returning. I hadn't been to Eggsclusive for a while, as in before Covid. I took my girlfriend here one morning for breakfast. Based on my past experience I had certain expectations. When we arrived I noticed some changes that were a little disappointing. The windows where dirty, as if they had a film on them and hadn't been washed in a while. There was a flower on our table, but there was a... residue/mold on the inside of the vase indicating it had been sitting there for a while. The menus had stains on water damage to them. I ordered the Southern Special Omelet, my girlfriend got the Corned Skillet. The food was good, and the portions are still of a good size... Unfortunately like everyplace else the prices have increased. Every restaurant has had to increase prices. However, with the increase in prices you would think they would at least try to keep the illusion of the higher scale breakfast restaurant they want to be. You're not going to sell upscale if basic cleaning isn't done. The service was still great. We had no issues there, and the food is still delicious. read more

First off - they have a winter pancake special that I would have LOVED to try except that it was listed on their Instagram, it wasn't on the menu, and it wasn't featured on the website... how did I find out? Anyway - the plain was good texture and size. Not the best I've had but pretty decent. I ordered it as a side for my mango jalapeno skillet. I asked for the potatoes on the side because I don't like them soggy. They gave generous portions so I will give them that. The potatoes were solid. Nice and crispy bfast potatoes which I personally prefer over hash browns. The skillet was pretty good. It was drowning in sauce more than I expected but it came piping hot and I did enjoy it. My boyfriend and I decided to stop here on our way through town. There is ample parking and it is right off of the main road so you shouldn't drive by it. When I tell you that skillet was the most delicious, mouthwatering, flavorful breakfast dish I have ever eaten I wouldn't be lying. The flavors just popped, the egg on top was a nice touch, and it came with 2 big fluffy pancakes. The cinnamon french toast was top notch also. The cinnamon comes mixed in the butter on the side because you can't put that much deliciousness all together. Now I LOVE me some French Toast. I mean LOOOOVEEEE. I'm always disappointed when the center is soggy. This was cooked to absolute perfection and came with bacon or sausage and eggs. I don't know what's up with all the negative recent reviews but we were very impressed with the service we received and the quality of the food.
