3 cod platter by request. 1 baked, 1 blackened and 1 beer battered. I actually liked the beer battered the best.

I found myself in Sandwich and was on the hunt for a new place for a Friday fish fry. I was intrigued by their website that they offered beer battered, broiled or blackened Cod. Much to my surprise I could get one of each as a platter. I enjoyed them all, but the beer battered was my favorite. Got a nice serving of green beans instead of potatoes, because they're breads are good and I wanted to enjoy the cheese spread they offer you. It goes great on crackers, breadsticks, bread or your fingers, according to the waitress. They've been around since 1982 and it's the same family run business. Even grandkids have their finger in the business. You got to get a piece of pie, the matriarch (the hostess) has been making them ever since day one with her daughter. I got a slice to-go after the cod feast.

He was super nice and "Johnny on the spot" in all our service requests. The food and drinks were great. Still the same quantity, quality AND value. The Shrimp Platter had CoconutEncrusted coating which was so crunchy and delicious. The shrimp were so big, like prawns! Shrimp Scampi was buttery and garlicky, a slight crispy texture. Plenty of large popcorn shrimp rounded out the platter. Comes with the salad bar, which is fresh and tasty. Good selection of salad toppings. The Seafood Platter is also a wonderful plate of a tasty variety of fish. The broiled cod is to die for. Pollack was crispy and the popcorn shrimp plentiful. Such a great dining experience. We saw some customers eating a pizza and it looked so good we will be back sooner rather than later to try it. Owner is a really great gal. Always makes sure to come out of the kitchen to say hello and to see that you are happy with your dining experience. Highly recommend you make it a regular stop on your dining out rotation.

First off, the place is very nice looking - feast your eyes on the photos. Angled windows in front, nice table spaces, art at every table, a nice oil candle, and good enough lighting that you can read the menu without wrecking the intimate nature of a booth. The menu (photos attached) is loaded with good stuff. For an appetizer, we selected their Imperial American Wagyu Filet Carpaccio, which came with thinly sliced Wagyu Filet, topped with black truffle, king crab, kaluga caviar, panna grattato, and other tasty stuff. It was served on a white plate with bread, and was incredibly tasty. My wife ordered their Lobster Linguini (on the bill) or Linguini Aragosto on the menu. She enjoyed it very much, and even took some home. On the other hand, I went with their Butcher's Butter Spinalis which was a Ribeye Cap. It was very tender, very tasty, nicely seasoned and cooked as requested at medium rare temperature. With that, we ordered their Rosemary Potatoes, which were "family sized" (enough for two or three) and tasted great. We closed out with a cannoli which was two-sided with two different end preps, which was excellent. To work with all this, I needed a wine which would work for the seafood and the meat, so I selected a Grosjean Pinot Noir, which worked great with both. Service was very very very good - regular checks, food timing was good with each part coming out with enough time to easily finish it before the next course came out. Our waitstaff Ashley kept us watered, and even removed the cork from the wine using a wine key while standing. Nicely done! This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion, or just to go for a nice, relaxed meal. They do store their wine horizontally (like you are supposed to, see the picture) and keep it out of the sun. They also have a deli on the west end with reduced hours, so if you want something I'd suggest going there before you arrive so you don't miss it.

The interior is very inviting, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It's a versatile space that works well for a romantic dinner, a casual date night, or even an evening out with family. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and seated at a table near the front window. Our server, Naomi, welcomed us right away and immediately made us feel comfortable with her friendly and engaging personality. She brought water to the table, took our drink orders, and returned quickly with our beverages before checking if we were ready to order. After answering a few questions, we decided on the fresh oysters, four-cheese flatbread, and pork belly tacos. The oysters were served first, and Naomi took the time to explain their region and variety, which added a nice touch to the experience. They were fresh, clean, and nicely briny. The four-cheese flatbread was rich and flavorful, made with fresh ingredients that really stood out. We also enjoyed the house-cured pork belly tacos--the meat was tender and well-prepared. I requested the toppings on the side, which was accommodated without issue. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The service, atmosphere, and food all came together nicely, and we'll definitely be returning again soon.

I will start by saying my only con was the portion sizes for the price. I was left wanting more,…read morebut the food is delicious and the manger came through for us when we were about to walk out disappointed. We wanted something other than just burgers again, so I proposed seafood. There didn't seem to be a lot of options in this area, but Dancing Marlin seemed to fit the bill and was pretty close. Before going, we looked at the menu, and there really wasn't anything my little one was going to want on the kids menu - there was no seafood for the kids, not even a basic fish and chips. He saw the lobster rolls appetizer though, and that sold him, so we got in the car and headed down. When we went to order, the waiter told us the only thing they were out of was the lobster rolls, but when we asked about the lobster gnocchi that my other son was about to order, they said they could do that, so I asked to speak with the manager. She explained that they only liked to use big whole pieces of lobster for the lobster rolls, and that is what they were out of, but had the smaller pieces they normally used in the gnocchi dish. I asked if she could do the lobster rolls with the smaller pieces, and she confirmed with the chef so we were back in business. The food was all excellent. I had the seared ahi and it was delicious, but was just a small portion for my liking. The scallops my wife had were delicious, but for $38 it was only 4 scallops. Maybe kids who live around here don't want fish when their parents do, but you should at least have a kids portion of fish and chips, or some fried shrimp on the menu for them. I'm not going to order a $27 fish and chips portion for a little kid, but he also didn't come to just eat chicken nuggets or buttered noodles.

For a BBQ place they have an unusual menu - no brisket, no chicken breasts or thighs and no pulled meat on the main menu. What they do have is several fish and seafood options and their pork rib tips are served with either turkey ribs (turkey chunks?) or chicken sausage, neither of which I've seen before. I think there were just two people working when I was there: one in the kitchen and a sibling of L and J at the register. I was the only dine-in customer and the ambiance is barebones with checkered plastic tablecloths, diner-style chairs and only one printed menu at the register. Several specials were on chalk boards and it was "Soul Food Saturday" but I did not try their collared greens or other specials which did include a half chicken that I wish was on the main menu. The BBQ is solid but one hour away Chicago has nothing to worry about. The meat is tender and flavorful and the chicken sausage was delicious but seasoned with a bit too much rosemary. One disappointment was that the meat came covered in a semi-sweet BBQ sauce and there was none on the table and no option for a mustard, vinegar-based or other sauce, so I hope you're satisfied with exactly what you're given. While I was there I was given a sizable side of their tender pot roast and roasted vegetables. Both were excellent. Overall I think you will be very pleased if not blown away.
