Seeking a second opinion when my regular dentist recommended extraction of a damaged molar with a broken crown, I was delighted to find a dentist who wanted to help me save the tooth. I have lost 4 wisdom teeth and 3 molars due to prior health problems and did not want to sacrifice one of my few remaining molars. Dr. Nathan installed a post and built up the tooth to support a crown. The temporary is beautiful and the staff equally so: professional, kind, compassionate and very good at what they do. Very shady people here. This is not your typical family dental office. I should've listened to the reviews. Even the dentist is in on the whole financial scheme. My husband and I called as new patients for general cleanings and exam appointments. Mind you, we have a dentist we go to that accepts our insurance and don't pay anything out of pocket but we wanted to try something closer to home. From the moment we called they were so quick to get our insurance information and didn't want to speak pricing with us. All they said was they had good promotions and payment plans available we can discuss once there. We ignored the red flags and went in to the office the same day for an appointment thinking we would be okay with our dental insurance. We tried asking again to the receptionist for a breakdown on pricing/insurance coverage and again she didn't want to speak pricing and explained that first we will get X-rays, and then doctor will see us and explain our issues and then a "coordinator" will meeting with us to discuss pricing and payment plans prior to getting any work done. I ignored this red flag again because I figured I would be fine with my dental insurance. Once we were seen, the process was exactly the way she explained however, I was NOT expecting for the "coordinator" to be a high-pitched sales associate. She came over with different payment plan options and a calculator. Once I saw the calculator I knew exactly the type of place this was. She gave me a breakdown of how much I would be paying out of pocket to get my wisdom teeth removed which I was previously told I didn't need to if they are not bothering me. I told her I was not interested and continued to be very pushy as if I was at a timeshare presentation. The "best option"she gave me was an out of pocket price of $5000 for two removals at a time. She was upset that I declined and then tried to get me with a "free" consultation for Invisalign . At that point I knew I would never come back to this money hungry place. Once I told her I only wanted the cleaning (I had no cavities or any other issues) she charged me $50.00 and I basically got ignored the remainder of the time and had to wait for my cleaning which only took about 10-15 minutes. My husband didn't even get offered the dental cleaning anymore which is what we were there for and was told to have a good night after he also declined their payment plans. Needless to say I am going back to my original dental office and appreciate them so much more now. Please find yourself a good dental office that actually cares for patients. Dr. Saz and the dental team at Gardena Dental Group (GDG) are amazing! Looks like I am in the process of changing my dental team after visiting GDG! Even though Gardena is a bit out of the way for me, GDG is now my new dental office to visit from everyday cleaning, teeth consultation, root canals, teeth fixing, fills, and crowns. All things dental and teeth-related, GDG can take care of it for you. I was referred by a coworker and definitely a new patient. I had some issues with an old root canal and Dr. Saz and the specialist were able to give me a nice consultation and what would need to be done. As for right now, my 6-month cleanings are now done by the team at GDG. They were able to verify my dental insurance and it was super easy to make and book appointments with Angelica and the team of professional receptionists. My family and I have been going to Gardena Dental Group since 2022. In February, 2025, I went in due to dental sensitivity and pain. X-rays and a cat scan were taken but the dentist found nothing. In April, I went for a routine cleaning and the hygienist said she needed to take x-rays which I declined because I had a full set taken in February. Though the hygienist was polite, the cleaning was substandard. I continued having pain and on April 29th 2025, the pain was so excruciating and unbearable. I called the dental office and was referred to an oral surgeon. The only document provided to me was a cardboard which indicated evaluation and treat as needed, the dentist's name and office contact. I emailed it to the oral surgeon so they could start working on it before my appointment. The surgeon requested for my dental reports, but Gardena Dental Group only sent an old X-ray which was not even dated and unreadable.The surgeon's office called me to ask when it was taken, and I said February but after contacting Gardena Dental, it was determined, the X-ray was old. I called them again to request what was taken in February, including the cat scan and they sent unreadable copies again. The Surgeone's office called me again stating the copies were not clear. The surgeon's office informed me my insurance only pays for the scan (panoramic view), every 5 years and if they have to do another, I will pay out of pocket. I told them I could not pay because I just had it done. At this point, they requested the images be uploaded on a USB or CD. Still in very bad pain, headache and all, I called Gardena Dental and requested the cat scan. Shortly after I was called to pick it up. I rushed over there to get it as I was scheduled to see the surgeon on 5/2/2025, When I got there, the receptionist told me I had to pay $350, I thought she meant $3.50 and did not mind paying. She corrected me and said she meant $350. Upset, disappointed and in pain, I told the receptionist it was unfair for them to charge me up to that amount after my insurance already paid for the scan, and knowing I was in pain and needed to be seen asap. How could they refer me to a specialist without important details about my case. Due to my condition, I went to my appointment and paid $68 for imaging since the surgeon had to evaluate me before scheduling surgery. I called Gardena dental, asked who to file a complain with and the receptionist insisted I tell her the reason why. After I explained my disappointment in how I was treated, she said she will have me talk with the officer manager, she placed me on hold and a few minutes later, returned and said the manager will call me. It's been a few days, I have not heard from Gardena Dental. I write for all those who cannot fight for themselves, because if a provider refers you to a specialty, the referrer is supposed to send supporting paperwork not try to extort money for the sick. I hope no one falls prey to this money-sucking establishment. read more

Been meaning to write this review for a while because I wanted to use the names, but I can never remember to grab them. Anyways, this place is great. I've always hated the dentist and I needed to find a new one cus its been a while and I knew my wisdom teeth and a cleaning was overdue. Not to mention its hard to find a dentist because all you have are names & yelp reviews to go off of. The outside of the building doesn't do this place justice. Inside its super clean, the staff are extremely friendly and comforting. There is sometimes are short wait but its only because they get pretty busy. Each station has a tv with Netflix to make everything easier, which is important to me because I need my music and something to watch to calm my nerves. I had to meet with the doctor and told him how scared I was of the dentist and he went over treatments with me and compared them to other dental offices I been to and told me I was being over charged and I didn't really need everything they said I did. My deep cleaning was done in less than 45 minutes. Even when I said I felt too much pressure or was uncomfortable they stopped and waiting for me to be ready each time, they also provide as much numbing gel until I was comfortable. Now for my fillings, the doctor somehow knocked out 2 filings in less than 25 minutes. The numbing ended up taking longer than the actual prodedure. My insurance was still in the waiting period and they still found a way to work with me so my out of pocket cost were insane. I like how they give you payment options instead of trying to charge crazy amounts up front. They honestly have made me very comfortable from the front desk to the doctors to the insurance people. They are friendly, helpful, and pretty funny. They didn't ask me to leave a review or anything but I just wanted to share my personal experience from someone who is SCARED/NERVOUS/JITTERY all of the above when it comes to the dentist. Every one of the women in the receptionist area knows your name, and they all let you know they want to put a smile on your face. (And they do.) All my previous dentist wanted to do was extract my teeth. When I had my primary evaluation at Gardena Dental Group (x-rays and review by staff), I was assigned to Dr. Armen and his assistant, Vanessa. Prior to my first office visit, I received a very reasonable quote for services rendered from Leslie, and we made an appointment for soon after the first of 2025. Both Dr. Armen and Vanessa made me feel at home and never mentioned any extractions in my future. Within two office visits my teeth that had cavities were filled, and my cleaning will be completed next week. Dr. Armen is so easy going and knows how to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The cleaning got rescheduled because they found out my insurance can only be used every 6 months for cleaning. But they let me know the DAY OF. Like?? I'm already here?? So day before my supposed wisdom tooth extraction we call in to ask about the appointment and they tell us the doctor isn't in tomorrow?? And the next available date is July 28??? I am so happy i stumbled upon this dental group. A friend and I were looking for a dentist that would provide teeth whitening service and Gardena Dental Group was the best price for the service. When i called to inquire they were very professional answering all my questions and provided their process step by step so that i would not have any unexpected concerns, once i was there. Rachel was the dental assistant that took care of me from the beginning till the end, of the process. She was very professional, attentive and kind during the entire time I was there - she even turned on Netflix for me so that my time would go by quicker while my teeth were being whitened. I hadn't been to the dentist in years and coming here was the best decision I made for my dental care. I had quite a few cavities and the Dr explained everything so simply for me. The hospitality here is also great. Everyone calls you by your name and is very welcoming and sweet. As far as the work by the Dr, I'm more than happy. I couldn't chew on my left side for a long time due to a filling that fell out and wasn't addressed for years lol. But now, It feels almost foreign to be able to chew on that side lol. I have been walking past this office for many years but never went in as I had my own Dentist that I had used for a long time. Well that changed as he decided to retire so when I needed a cleaning I thought I would give this place a try. I made an appointment for a cleaning and got a chance to see what services are offered. Of course with a cleaning there is an exam to see if any other treatments are needed. Lucky me, I needed a filling. Made an appointment and went through the process, you know lean back, "There will be a little pinch". This is why I don't look forward to going to the Dentist. A "Little" pinch felt like an alligator was loose in my mouth. I survived but had second thoughts about if there would be a next time. Had several more cleanings and each time I was told there is more work to be done. Fillings, Crowns and some stuff I forgot about. This year, a couple of weeks ago I had my cleaning by a different person as the regular person is out on sick leave, and she said I really needed to have some work done. I bit the bullet and made an appointment after having a plan given to me describing what had to be done and the cost. The night before I didn't sleep much as I was worried about the "Little Pinch". Arrived for my appointment and was quickly shown to the chair and sat down. A young lady came in and said her name was Dr. Phan and she would be doing my treatment. She got started and NEVER said "A little pinch" She talked about many different things and asked me several questions. All the while she was working. In less than an hour she had done four fillings and I felt NOTHING. I won't say my age but I remember my Dad trading in his 53 Chevy for a new 57 Ford. I have been to a lot if Dentists including Military Dentists and have Never had the results that I had with Dr Phan. I made another appointment and didn't loose any sleep, in fact was looking forward to it, to get two crowns done. The crowns (2) took less than one hour including the temporary crowns and no "Little Pinch". If there was ever a person that is in the right profession it is Dr. Phan.
