I was told my trays would be ready in about two months, but after two months, I had to constantly follow up myself because they never bothered to call me with any updates. Every time I reached out, there was another excuse for a delay, yet no one took the initiative to keep me informed. Half a year went by, and after growing increasingly frustrated, I called to complain and requested a refund. All of a sudden they found trays that had been sitting there for months but knowone called . The office manager, Claudia, was kind enough to try and work with me, as she saw no calls had been made to me on their phone log. I got the runaround and she had to consult with Dr. Mike on my refund. Apparently, he was on vacation for a longtime he didn't agree to the refund, and I was completely left in the dark. They never resolved the issue or made things right. I would NOT recommend Hawthorne Orthodontic to anyone. They were initially recommended by ABC Dental, and I've informed ABC not to refer any more patients to them. Not only did they lose my business, but I was also considering getting braces for my two boys--definitely taking my business elsewhere!

I was a patient at K&E Dental for several years and was generally happy with Dr. Lee and the care I…read morereceived. Unfortunately, my most recent experience completely changed my opinion. A couple of weeks ago, I went in for a chipped tooth. New X-rays revealed a cavity on a different tooth. When Dr. Lee reviewed my 2025 X-rays, he realized the cavity had already been present and he had missed it. He sincerely apologized and explained that I now needed a crown. I really appreciated his honesty and transparency. When I received the estimate for the crown, the cost seemed high even with insurance. Given that the cavity had been missed the previous year, I felt it was reasonable to ask about a discount. After contacting the office three times without a response, I was finally offered 5% the day of my appointment, which felt dismissive. Instead of meeting with Dr. Lee, they had me meet with Dr. Lin, the owner. He said that even if the cavity had been caught earlier, it still would have required a crown and he would not offer any discount because it would come out of his own pocket. Dr. Lee had not previously indicated a crown was needed in 2025, and his apology suggested the cavity had worsened over time. Dr. Lin dismissed that entirely. When I said I would have the crown done elsewhere but still wanted my chipped tooth fixed (since it was urgent), Dr. Lin told me he was not comfortable treating me because I questioned their business practices and suggested it would be best if I left. I also noticed a $475 charge on the estimate that did not align with my insurance explanation of benefits (I brought printed copies with me to show them). When I asked about it, Dr. Lin said there was no need to discuss it since I would not be having the procedure there, which raised further concerns about billing transparency. It's disappointing because my experience with Dr. Lee had been positive. In the end, refusal to take any financial responsibility for a mistake made by a doctor, and dismissal of billing questions have led me to take my business elsewhere. I recommend patients carefully review estimates and insurance coverage before proceeding with treatment and hope nothing goes wrong with your care.

Giving knowledge about my insurance Dr. Yoon provides details about what kind of insurance I have and explains what kind of coverage I can get. Most of the times, you don't know a lot of details about your dental insurance. However, this place explains in details about what kind of service will be covered by insurance and how much is covered in details. I knew some dentist places say insurance will cover but you have to pay left over and tell patients just rough numbers. But Space dental run through details about how much insurance covers and all that. This knowledge really helped me to map out what kind of treatment I need and afford when I visit because spend unexpected money is not a good feeling right? 2. Treatment itself Their treatment on my teeth and service is great. They explains in details about what is wrong with this and that to make you understand what treatment needs to be done ASAP first and gives road map about where and what kind of treatment I should get next time I visit. Details, details, and details. I really like that part 3. No pressure I guess this is the best part about this place. Most of dentist kind makes you feel like you have to get all the treatment and make you spend unexpected money (it's not that cheap too). However, Dr. Yoon is very honest and doesn't force you to get not needed treatment. For example, I had 4 wisdom teeth that needs to be pulled out but it was not urgent issue. Other dentist I visited, they explain to me as this is an urgent and needs to be pulled out ASAP and made me so pressured about this to be done ASAP. But when I visited here, Dr. Yoon explain details about which teeth you may need to remove first, and which one can be pulled out later to assure it won't give me a big problem right now. They were really honest about it and just told me what treatments needs to be done. Honesty is something I look into any places and this is big plus for me. 4. Parking Many places (restaurant, or any etc store) do not provide parking that much or have limited parking spaces. However, this plaza provides parking spaces behind the building and have plenty of street parking (No parking meter too!). That was big plus for me as LA area is parking hell. I highly recommend this places and I don't plan to visit any other dentist beside Space Dental. This was one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences I've ever had…read more My daughter needed a root canal, and we were sent back and forth between two different offices across the street from each other. The entire process felt disorganized and confusing from the beginning. Before moving forward, we were told by the office manager that treatment would be covered after we paid for a CT scan ($300) and a consultation ($100). Based on those representations, we agreed to proceed and paid the fees. After the scan and consultation were completed, we were then told that the treatment would actually cost approximately $800 per tooth. This was never clearly disclosed beforehand. If we had known we would be facing thousands of dollars in additional charges, we would never have agreed to the CT scan in the first place. What makes this especially upsetting is that the expensive scan was performed before we were given an accurate picture of the actual treatment costs. It feels like we were encouraged to spend hundreds of dollars without being fully informed of what would come next. Patients deserve clear, honest information about costs before being asked to authorize procedures and pay fees. Instead, we were given one expectation and then presented with a completely different financial reality after the fact. I cannot recommend this office based on our experience. Transparency and trust are essential in healthcare, and unfortunately, this experience left us feeling misled and disappointed.
