I need a new couch, and despite my loathing for the awful TV commercials that yell their way onto my screen, I found one I liked at GW. The price was reasonable. I also needed to dispose of the old couch. However, as the deal was wrapping up, the salesman informed me that I had a choice of having the delivery crew drop it off in the driveway, or I could pay an additional $150 for them to bring it in the house. On top of that, they would haul away the old couch for another $100. Very angry at this turn, I said I'll get it into my house and take the old one to the curb by myself. So, while this scam of an outfit touts reasonable prices for their furniture, BEWARE THE DELIVERY FEES. I avoided $250 in surprise costs. I advise you to do the same. I wouldn't reccomend buying anything from any Gardner White. After waiting almost 2 months for my furniture, the delivery people were sexist and tube, only spoke to my bf, got their truck stuck in my yard, fought and cussed at each other, never apologized to me. After telling us their tow truck would take 5 to 6 hours to arrive and it was 8pm, my neighbor pulled the truck out of my yard. No one ever called to apologize. When I got a hold of someone 2 days later, I was told someone else would call me in 4 or 5 business days...that person called me on a Saturday morning and the number, when I called back, no one answered and it has no voicemail set up. We were told GW will reimburse for the damages to the yard but no one ever explained how we would do that. It's been 2 weeks and I spoke to a person today who says....wait for it....so.eone will call me back in 24 to 48 hours. Every number I can find for this place has no human answering the call and the voicemail puts you in a loop of no destination unless you want to set up a delivery date. I also found out today that you have 7 days to return items, which is a week late at this point. Customer service is non existent. I was told I would get my furniture over a month ago, then again 2 weeks ago. I don't get contacted until the day I expect the delivery through email telling me that it will be another 2 weeks. When I reach out to them they don't respond. I was promised several times that I would get a call from my sales person but that still has not happened (over a week on first promise). I texted them, I called them, I emailed them. Worst retail experience of my life. I ordered bunk beds, two mattresses, a trundle and ladder for my daughters. I went in the store in Black Friday, and was told they were in stock, and would be delivered the following Wednesday. On Wednesday, I was delivered the ladder only. I call the store and tell them, and they say our mistake, we will have them delivered tomorrow. Next day I get my two mattresses and trundle. NO BUNK BEDS. I call again, and they tell me there was a mistake in their system, so they will deliver it the next day. Also, I was told by the lady that I was overcharged $1200! She promised a refund, and that I would get my bunk beds. I was refunded $900, but I figured I would wait to get all of my things before finalizing the price. Not only did I have to call every day about the 3 bunk beds NOT being delivered (even though I got the delivery text saying they were), but they then told me that it would not be in stock for 2 months. I said okay then, come get your stuff because I have nowhere to put it with out the bunk beds. They then tell me that I will have to pay a 50% RESTOCKING FEE! Already fuming, I'm not paying that insane price to refund my furniture that they failed to deliver on. So they will give me "loaner frames" until they come in, and they will call me mid January to have them delivered. I now have to store their shitty furniture in a room that I haven't been able to use for 3 months, because I need the bunk beds to use it. I call them on 1/17/21, and ask if the beds are in yet, and they say no, now it looks like February, but we will call you. I called them today, 2/23/21, and ask for an update on when the bunk beds will be in. THEY SAID THEY HAVE MY ORDER ON HOLD BECAUSE I OWE THEM $900!!!! The same money they refunded me for earlier!!!!! I say you actually owe me $300 and the beds, since I was told I was overcharged $1200. The moron that told me that pulled this from someone the sun does not shine, and I spoke with the manager and he has told me the exact same thing. When I asked to speak with Corporate, he said there is no corporate. I then asked if he owned Gardner White Furniture, and he said no. Obviously lied to again. I ordered a mattress and sofa on 9/7/2020. My mattress and boxspring was supposed to be delivered in one week. After calling a month later I finally got it mid October. The sofa was supposed to be delivered mid October. When it didn't come with the mattress I was told it would be early November, but definitely before the holidays. Tomorrow is December 1st and still no sofa. I was told each of the 3 time I've called that the sales man would contact me and I have yet to hear from him. I'm now told that my sofa will be delivered early December but they do not give out actual dates on the delivery. After all of my trouble they wouldn't even offer me free shipping on my order. Delivery FINALLY happened November 15 after multiple phone calls and visits to the store to find out when I would expect my furniture. When the furniture came the sofa was the WRONG color. Sales person said she would reorder, put a rush on the order and call ME that Saturday to let me know when the estimated date it would be in was. I never heard from her! Spoke with a manager who said she would look into the issues and I was supposed to hear from the manager who makes decisions in compensation. It is now a week later and I have heard from NO ONE!! The salesman sure tell you what you want to hear but then do not follow through. $2200 on a mattress that I can't return (way firmer than the one they showed me), there were two lamps that just never arrived and also a huge blemish (paint scraped off) on the new headboard and nightstand I bought. I finally got ahold of the salesman but he couldn't help and no one else could help because he was on a vacation. Purchased furniture from the Brighton location, and was told by the sales associate when I signed up for financing I needed to put $6,400.00 as a purchase amount. My total didn't even come close to that. I was approved for the $6,400 and of course the sales associate got a better attitude and started showing us everything. We found a couch we liked along with a bedroom set and a few dressers for each of my kids rooms. We were told a specific date that our furniture would be delivered. Got a call that the furniture was going to be delivered the week of, and than got another follow up call that the furniture was now on back order until October/ November. How did it go from being on a delivery truck to now being back ordered? Come to find out from the sales manager that Garder White has a history of sale assoicates waiting to for an order to be ready and they try and steal the order so their customers get it. Apparently it has to do with the delivery window. Well after driving from howell to Brighton I was sent to Novi because I was told they had a bigger warehouse ( this wasn't true) they had the same issue every store has. All their furniture is on back order but they take your money. So the Novi experience was a bust that sales assoicate told us the corporate office was in Aurburn Hills and that would be my best choice to get my furniture. So we drove to Aurburn Hills and met Mark who was very helpful, but couldn't do a ton for even though He tried and tried but only he could only get our half chair. I've called multiple times like everyone has here. I've Spoke with multiple assoicates. Have been on hold for two hours ( call log to prove it) and have been told someone would call me back.. yet I haven't received any call backs or anything. The Brighton location informed me they dont have store managers just sales managers that work on a team. I'm beyond frustrated with Gardner White and want answers. BUYER BEWARE! Purchased a sectional from GW/Brighton MI in July of 2020. Sales person said it is back ordered but will get it in 4- 6 weeks. I had no issue with that. That time frame came and went. Many calls to the store, a chatline and going to the store numerous times and the same answer was yours will be on the truck next week. NOPE! This continued for 7 months. Then just before Christmas I get a call from them saying your couch is in and when do you want it delivered? I said the next day. Got the delivery txt that they will come at a certain time, which they were way ahead. All is good. They arrived at the door and I said Well look, its a Christmas miracle, Gardner White is at my door step!! Well and that's where they were going to leave it!! In order to have them bring in house you pay for a white glove service that my sales lady NEVER told me about. Scam..free delivery to doorstep, porch or deck for 100.00. UNREAL!! MIKE the salesman deserves to be just a furniture salesman in life. He does his job forgettable. I've waited since sept 16th for a couch that I bought and it keeps getting pushed out for delivery. Now they say Mid December I might have my couch. I get that they can't control the delivery dates from the vendor they work with. But they can control their customer service. I've never been given a call or an email any of the 5 times my couch was pushed out for delivery. Every single time I've had to call and wait on hold for a minimum of 15min just to be told the couch is pushed out another month. It seems like a continuous problem with GW. After reading any of the comments about items being in stock the day of purchase but at delivery you do not get everything. Last 2 orders took over 8 months to get. And this current order I am going through the same thing. Keep getting emails of delays. Purchased a bedroom set in Aug 2021 with everything in stock until the delivery guys show up to tell you about a backordered item. Now the item will be available in February 2022. What is even more aggravating is the bedroom set I purchased is being advertised all the time. Got a call yesterday saying delivery would be early afternoon today. @1:47pm I get a text saying delivery will be between 8:30pm and 11:30pm?! Unacceptable. I text the number they provided for issues, no reply. I call customer service for delivery and request a call back...2 hours go by with no call. I call again and sit on hold for 30 minutes- after I get to position 1, you send me to voicemail?! I call back again...30 more minutes then voicemail?! What a joke. After spending thousands of dollars on new furniture, I expect better customer service than this. I also expect deliveries during normal business hours...not at 11pm! They made promises that werent kept, delivery dates that kept getting pushed back, and the salesman wouldnt call me. I cancelled my order 3 weeks ago and was promised full refund. I get a call today and was told that my order was never cancelled, my check was never sent and now they are charging me a restocking fee of 30% when I was already told that I was getting it in full. The delivery dates I was told at time of purchase were 3 months before what i was last updated on. When I asked to speak with a manager I was told its not going to happen...Super rude and unfriendly. Now, I am not typically one to actually write a review but I work for an amazing company with outstanding customer service so I cannot believe my experience with Gardner White and would no longer recommend them. Although we do love the actually furniture we had purchased, I have to say this is the worst customer service I have experienced in my life and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. On February 22nd someone was sent to our house to inspect a tear in the couch fabric that was caused by the shipping plastic being stapled to the fabric. He advised that we would receive new fabric in 7-10 business days and then someone would come back out to make the repair- perfect. 3 weeks later, no fabric. We call to find out that we were given incorrect information and it takes 6-8 weeks- ok fine. Almost 9 weeks after it was inspected, no fabric. We reach back out and are advised that the manufacturer isn't responding to their order so they have no idea when it will be but they might just replace the couch. We were promised a follow up the next day and never got one. We reach out a few days later and speak with a "manager" who promised to call us later that day or the following day at the latest- never called. We reach out 3 business days later at 10:30am and are advised that ALL managers are in a meeting until 1pm and that they would call us right when they are out. No call. I call that evening and am advised that they are gone for the day but they would email the manager directly to call me the next day- I was even asked for a preferred phone number for them to call me at. After not hearing anything all day, I reach out at 4:30pm and speak with the "manager" who advises that she emailed me... emailed?! She tells me that it might take another 2-4 weeks to get any information. I am then transferred to "corporate" where I have to leave a voicemail because nobody is there?! Are you kidding me?! I guess we will see if anyone returns my voicemail but at this point I have zero faith that Gardner White will do the right thing. *Update- Shortly after posting to social media regarding my experience I was contacted by someone from the company. Kimberly was the most polite and understanding of all the Gardner White employees we had spoken with and really seemed to care. She advised that we could wait 2-4 more weeks for the new fabric and have a gift card for our troubles or have the couch replaced. We opted to have the couch replaced and a new one was delivered to us the next day! Never underestimate the power of social media! To start off I have bought many items from Gardner white over the years. Multiple beds, dining room table, couches etc. This most recent 2300 dollar couch will be my last. To start we finally found the couch we wanted. We planned to just pay cash but the sales person talked us into the same as cash for a year. So we signed up. As we were leaving we were told we needed to put 500 dollars down after being told we couldn't even get the couch for 4-6 weeks (we weren't told this until after we applied to the card also and that we couldn't get free delivery anymore because it had to be special ordered). We were ready to get out of there after the constant lies we were told so we went to the cashier to pay the 500. They were confused and the sales person told me we wouldn't need to pay now and to wait for the bill. So we finally get a bill weeks later and we are charged interest. I call the store and speak to a manager by the name Shaelyn. She was rude right away telling me that the 500 needed to be paid right away and failing to do that made it interest baring. I told her I was literally ready to pay at the store and was told not to. She told me there was nothing she could do. I asked for her bosses name and she said she didn't have one. I asked her for the owners name and she laughed and said it's the people you see on the commercials and told me I'd never get a hold of them. I asked for contact info and suddenly she told me she would call the credit card place and see what she could do. She called me back about a half hour later to tell me she couldn't get the interest removed but she would remove the money off my final amount. I said fine. Fast forward to yesterday we receive another bill with nothing taken off and we are charged interest yet again! I work in management and I am blown away by how we were treated. There is many different places to by furniture and I will never shop at Gardner white and my credit card will be closed. Alls it took was the manager who answered my call to be nice and say she would fix the interest and it would of went a long way. And to hear this manager think she has no boss and no check and balances was really sad. It's now almost 6 months later and three failed attempts at delivering the ottoman we special ordered numerous attempts talking to managers sales person and still no ottoman but we got a $200 dollar credit towards a ottoman we still have yet to revive will never be back to Gardner white nor will I recommend any person I know. read more

Horrible experience! First, when I visited the store not one single employee greeted me. I had to ask for help. Weird, considering several other employees were just walking around. The delivery service is a JOKE! They tell you in the store that you are given a "3 hour window", which ends up being a lie. They will also say that the "late" delivery is from 6-10. WRONG! The call came in after 5 pm on the delivery day with a delivery time between 9:30-12:30 AM. Why in the world would someone want furniture delivered in the middle of the night? We ordered a sofa last year and delivery forgot some throw pillows. The store offered me other not matching pillows but I wanted the matching ones. So they gave me a $50 gift certificate. I then forgot about it until I found it nearly a year later and it was about to expire. I spoke with corporate who said to bring it to the store even if it's expired & that a sales person would order the online item I wanted using the gift certificate. The gift certificate doesn't work online because it's like cash. I came in today found the awesome retro style clock I wanted. It will be shipped to our home. Shipping is, of course, free. They were very helpful & I got exactly what I wanted. It's especially perfect because we plan to move this year & it will be all packaged, ready to go! Very good experience! read more

Then they tried to charge us for picking up the defective products. The store manager In Brighton is one of the worst managers I've ever come across. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DELIVERY!!!! I ordered a box spring for my elderly parents in an assisted living facility and was told by the salesman it would be delivered in the afternoon but that I would receive a confirmation call within 2 hours of delivery. Never came. As I write this, it's 9:30 pm and the box spring still hasn't been delivered. The email receipt has never been sent and I had to look through my banking transactions to find out that they did charge me for this. My husband and I called the store a number of times and they told us they have the right to deliver furniture until 2 am!!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE CLOWNS AT THE BRIGHTON, MICHIGAN STORE!!!
