I wish that I had read the reviews because I would have never accepted Sun Delivery as the carrier for our orders from FurnitureCrate.com. The first delivery, of a large wall unit, went prefectly. The guys were careful, friendly, and did their job quickly. Unfortunately, as good as that delivery went, the second one a couple of months later was horrible. And it is this one that will stick with us. The guys working that day were sullen and bordering on rude. They were running behind schedule, and rushed through our job. My husband's executive desk was not assembled correctly, drawers rub and it wasn't until my husband had time to look at it he realized that the left pedestal was installed differently from the right pedestal, resulting in a desk that is crooked and racked. For heavens' sake, the screws are installed at an angle! Of course, these idiots blew out of here so quickly that we barely had time to say goodbye, and it was after they left we noticed scratches on the desk as well. FurnitureCrate was no help in reslving this issue, neither was Sun, so my husband is spending hours trying to correct this and we may have to hire a carpenter to come in and make the final adjustments. Never again from either of these companies. The desk, BTW, is unevenly finished and even though we purchased a piece that was rated "best" in qulaity, you would never know. Yesterday, the company sent us an email, saying they decided to stop shipping the product, as their delivery company wasn't reliable and often pieces arrived broken. Today, I see their site still offers the same chairs and sleeper, so I assume others will have a similar experience in the future. Buyer beware! read more

We will not only match it, we'll match 110% of the difference!" However, I called with proof of purchase from another vendor and Fred said he couldn't touch that price. So, they have a "guarantee," but it isn't really a guarantee? Apparently not. It's a flat out lie. Bad business. read more

I ordered a kitchen hutch from Furniture Crate on January 18, 2011 believing that it would be delivered in around four weeks. After telephoning the customer service department a couple of weeks after the expected delivery date, I was informed that they had to contact the manufacturer to check the status. After waiting patiently for a few more weeks (now ten weeks from the day they had charged my credit card), I called back and was told that the manufacturer had discontinued the product. To say the least, I was furious and asked at what point in time were they planning on informing me that they had no plans to send me the $1,180.85 piece of furniture I had ordered. The customer service representative apologized and stated that she would reimburse my credit card. I asked if they would give me a discount if I chose to order a different piece of furniture since they've been holding my money for over two and a half months and I was told that they'd give me a 5% discount. Yeah, thanks a lot. 5% off on another piece of furniture that I'd have to wait another ten weeks to be told that it has also discontinued. No thanks. Meanwhile, it has been nearly a week and I'm still waiting for them to reimburse the charge to my credit card. I've disputed the charge with my credit card company, but am still waiting to hear their verdict (which could take up to eight weeks to conduct an investigation). I don't know if this company is a complete sham or what, but I would definitely think twice about ordering anything from this company. Good luck. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SITE OR ANY AFFILIATE. I ordered a table on early december that arrived mid february completely damaged. when order placed, they said 2-4 weeks for delivery. Never got a tracking number until almost 2 months later. The customer service is beyond awful & are not useful in any way. Seems like no one has any clue what is going on. They are only good at charging you. We are still in process of getting the item picked up by the company (now march!)& still haven't gotten a refund for the order that we now canceled. It has been such an awful experience. read more

I recently relocated and ordered two pieces of furniture from Furniture Crate. I have had a hand full of things to do and a lot on my plate since moving back to the states. I called to check the status and ask a few questions about the two different orders. Also had questions about the shipping company which will be delivering the furniture. I spoke with Jenna V. / Before-Delivery Customer Care Specialist / US-Mattress. Very professional and she assured me that she would track the deliveries for me and keep me updated. Of course I was very skeptical of the customer service offered but went along with the offer not fully expecting that type of service. Long story short, I received a message from Jenna within two days explaining in detail who would be delivering and all the information I would need. It was a very pleasant surprise and an unusual level of customer service. I would say this company is fortunate to have an associate who not only does their job well, but takes customer service to another level which is very rare these days. read more

I didn't even get a confirmation email when I ordered but my card has been charged. We are moving into our new house so I don't know how long we'd have to sit on the couch for dinner. read more

On 3/28, I placed an order for a credenza, and a king bedroom suite of furniture for my second home in FL. The total was over $7000, which was charged to my credit card on 3/30. On 4/2, I received an email stating that my furniture was ready to ship. I immediately flew down from IL to arrange to have my old furniture disposed of (donated) and await delivery. By 4/15, I had heard nothing so I placed a call to Furniture Crate and on 4/16, I received an e-mail from Sandy stating that the items had been shipped from Hooker Furniture to Nonstop Delivery who would call me to complete the delivery. A week later, I began placing daily calls since I still did not have my furniture and my flight back home was on 5/5. So began the merry dance. Once, I was told the furniture was being transferred from one delivery company to another. Then I was told that the delivery company was expanding "over the weekend" and they hadn't done the paperwork to get my delivery into their system. Over and over, I explained that my return flight to Chicago was for 5/5. Finally, I was promised delivery on Friday, May 1. That morning, I called Nonstop Delivery to confirm and they knew nothing about it. I called Furniture Crate, not only to inform them, but to remind them, once again, that no one would be available to accept delivery as of Tuesday, 5/5 unless I rebooked my flight for the end of the week, which would cost me an additional $338. Furniture Crate graciously offered me a credit to offset this expense, which was supposedly issued on 5/4. On the afternoon of 5/5, I was finally advised that my order was "lost" and I would have to place the order again and start the process all over, although no incentive was offered to do so. Needless to say, I chose a refund. I was told a credit would be issued in the amount of $7151.30. This was the total after subtracting the $338. Apparently, the offer to cover the cost of canceling and re booking my flight while waiting for them to locate my order was no longer valid. I was also informed that the credits could take 3-5 business days to post, with an additional 24-48 business hours for my refund to be reflected on the statement of my credit card. Interesting to note that when I placed this order on Saturday, 3/28, the charges appeared on my credit card on Monday, 3/30. Certainly no delay there! The credit did appear 5 days later. The bottom line is, my box spring and mattress are on the floor in the middle of the room, our clothes are piled in laundry baskets, and I had to spend $338 to stay an extra 3 days to wait for delivery of furniture that never came. Outside of the fact that everyone I spoke with at Furniture Crate/US-Mattress was very professional and polite, I am struggling to put a positive spin on this story. read more

I ordered a vanity stool from this company that they had advertised as being half off the 'listed price'. Recently, I found that Bed Bath and Beyond carries it for ten dollars less, which they have as the listed price, not discounted. Apparently, the list price that Furniture Crate posts on their website is not accurate, and adhering to truth in advertising is not their way of doing business. When I called to cancel the order, they explained that it was due to ship next week, and they would get back to me on Monday if they are able to stop the order from shipping. read more

I ordered a entertainment console from furniturecrate.com and the item was so damaged the delivery guys wouldn't even leave it. I had to wait a month to receive the item and to have it replaced, I would have to wait another month. I decided to cancel the order and not do business with this company in the future. read more

I had no problem with the order/delivery process. I had a problem with the chair about 4-5 months after it arrived. i contacted the Customer Care group and received prompt and delightful service from Jeni A on their After-Delivery Customer Care Team. She steered through the easy process (send a photo of issue plus one of serial number), and quickly arranged a service call with the manufacturer. They came out at the date and time specified and it was all taken care of. But Jeni did a terrific job. I wish all Customer Care groups were as great as this one! read more

My husband and I ordered an ottoman from this company OVER 6 months ago, first let me start by saying their shipping was INCREDIBLY slow it took about 4-5 weeks to receive our ottoman, second we prepaid at the time of check-out and for a whole month+ it showed as the funds were taken out of our account. Well 6 months later I receive a call after 8 p.m. at night saying I needed to call them to settle a balance I had on my account, you can imagine my confusion as I pulled up all of my emails of confirmation and invoices I received from this company stating that my balance was PREPAID, so I pulled up my bank account statements from all months around my order date and sure enough the money was put back into our account. I called the bank to see if they could give me any explanation as to what happened and they could not pull up detailed transaction information from this far back. So that's where my frustration began to sink in, because now I was expected to pay a $400 bill that I thought was paid 6 months ago, which for some people could be a large problem if they did not have the budget for that anymore. I called the company the next morning to find out why in the world they did not collect payment at the time I ordered and what kind of company would send somebody a $400 ottoman without receiving funds, well I spoke to 2 different employees and they were both VERY rude, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service, they did not care at all for their error and could not explain to me how this error even happened except that it was a "glitch" in their system. So I asked if there was anything they could do to help us since we had to pay this money that day and they were very rude and did not seem to want to fix their error at all. In the end it really wasn't about the money, we had the money to pay for it the fact was their customer service should have been more willing to apologize for their error, or offer us some sort of gesture that would say 'sorry, please shop with our company again', which they did not say sorry even once. Bottom line is please take your money else where this company is not worth the hassle, I am not surprised to see they have such terrible reviews all over the web and I wish I would have taken the time to look before I decided to purchase my furniture through them. Not to mention, their link for reviews on their website is mysteriously broken. read more

I ordered a couple of recliners December 18 2011 before Christmas. They said allow 4 weeks. On January 30 more than 4 weeks one of the recliners was delivered. Customer Service first told me that there were two in the box (we ar talking recliners), then they told me that the place they get them from only sent them one. Then they finally tell me that they only ordered one in the first place and they had to re-order the other one. The other one was to be delivered on February 28. On February 28 it was reported "Lost In Transit". I finally after nearly three months requested a credit. They have had my money since before Christmas and will refund me the exact amount in 3 - 5 business days after they confirm it is lost. These people have never contacted me on their own. I would have to sit on hold forever and then twice I received a call back after promises that they would. Now I have one non matching recliner and still do not have my money back for the second. read more
