I was staying across the street so thought it would be convenient to pick up some take out. I ordered enchiladas with sour cream and guacamole for and extra charge. Girl never gave me the sour cream and guacamole even though I paid for it and tipped on top of it! Wasn't discovered until I got back to the hotel. Enchiladas were ok. I mostly have experience with Mexican food made in Nevada so I'm no expert but never in my life have I had it with peanut butter in it. I am also not super observant, apparently, because I didn't notice this on the menu. It doesn't say which dishes have peanut butter in them, just that some do. I was surprised to discover that this included their chicken burrito. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone and nobody but me has a problem with this. Beware those with peanut allergies. read more

This was delightful. The boy and I are on a road trip home after going to Denver. The greeting was immediate and friendly. We were seated right away and our order taken in a timely manner. Service was quick and friendly. The chips were so fresh they were hot. It was hard to decide what to get. I saw the fajitas for two. I haven't had fajitas in decades. (I'm a taco addict.) Since they didn't have my favorite style of taco, taco dorado de res fried in the pan, We shared the fajitas for two. So much food for just 2 of us, it could've easily fed 4. The boy had a virgin Mangonada margarita. It was super sweet, but he loved it. It definitely needs the tequila, to cut the sweet. The jamaica was refreshing, not too sweet, and I could sip that all day on a hot day. The Mexican hot chocolate was good, but not spectacular. It could've used some more cinnamon. Garibaldis is a good place for Mexican food - you will get good food. For visitors, it is easy to locate on Idaho Street with plenty of seating. However, Elko has several exceptional Mexican food establishments that provide more interesting flavor and better flavor. read more

Stopped in Elko on our way back from Yellowstone for food and settled on Garibaldis. Quiet on a Friday afternoon, plenty of room, nicely decorated and clean. Warm, freshly made tortilla chips were served first with a delicious spicy salsa and refried beans. We ordered a chili verdi burrito and the chicken taquitos, which arrived shortly after we got our drinks. Large portions on hot plates. Both dishes were amazing and the flavor authentic and fresh. The service was great, though unfortunately the food is very so-so. The bartender and waitstaff were super friendly and efficient, so much that I feel a little bad about giving a three-star review. I ordered the steak fajitas. The meat was quite over-done and not seasoned very well, and the green peppers were under-done. The tortillas were good. Portion sizes are huge, because 'MURICA. You get free unlimited chips and salsa. The salsa was good. Driving from Salt Lake to San Francisco this is the first real stop on I-80. Labor Day weekend and it was packed Great food with good flavor. Price was excellent and the service was very good even thought they were understaffed with the crowd. I definitely will stop again. read more

Wow what a nice find in Elko!! We will be making this our stop for future trips through Nevada on I-80! We were seated quickly! Warm Chips, salsa, & refried beans served right away. The salsa was so good, too spicy for my husband but I loved it!! I ordered a on the rocks house margarita, my husband ordered a mango-rita both really good & in nice size glasses. Both of our meals came together, both hot and perfectly delicious! We were a little worried when we walked in because it was loud but it was a Saturday night plus people were celebrating birthdays. A decent enough Mexican restaurant. I had the fajita trio platter (steak, chicken, shrimp). They add carrots (!) to the peppers/onions which was new for me. They tasted excellent on their own but weren't so good with the other fajita ingredients. The shrimp were excellent and these were actually the best shrimp fajitas I've had anywhere. We stayed at the Travelodge across the street and walked over here for dinner. They are doing it right; the food was very authentic, the service was friendly and quick considering how busy they were. They were tourists and regulars when came in at 6:00. I had Enchiladas Suiza and my hubby had the Enchilada and chili relleno combo and he who is very picky with Mexican food loved it. When this restaurant first opened up, I heard a lot of skeptical things about it, however everything was cleared up the first time I went there. My husband and I stopped by here while traveling back home to California. The food was amazing! We shared the chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas. In my opinion it was enough to feed four people. Their blueberry mojitos are fabulous! We were greeted with a smile, our waitress was very friendly and so was everyone else that we spoke to during our meal time here. They were extremely busy however we were waited on and our food was served faster than expected. We will definitely be back again when traveling through. read more

We just spent $52 on a chicken breast, fajitas, queso and 2 tacos on the side take out. We got the wrong order, worst food...tacos were soggy and queso harder than a brick. I do not recommend. There were 6 people in my party. Two of my party loved their meal.Two thought it was mediocre. Two meals, the steak fajitas and an enchilada combination dinner needed to be taken back and actually cooked. The grated cheese inside my enchiladas was not melted and I could see the individual grated shavings. The fajitas came rare and the entire skillet was cold. I don't know what the other reviewers are taking about but my family and I had an excellent experience. The restaurant just opened so give them a break. We went today and had stellar service. Yolanda was attentive and knowledgeable. The daiquiri and margarita were delicious. The food was delicious and hot. My dad & I had the carne asada (OMG yummy!!!), husband had tacos and enchilada, and my mom had the Molcajete Loco. Then with the bill we each got a delicious cinnamon chip with whip cream & honey. All of the food was amazing and for 4 adults, 3 of which had alcohol the bill was under $100. read more
