This is not a fancy restaurant. Keep your hat on if you want. It's home cooking though at its best with more than you can eat. With a dinner order, you'll get sourdough bread and very tasty vegetable soup. Then a salad with garlic dressing, then green beans, rice, a potato dish (more to come on that), spaghetti (for real, but it wasn't that good) plus whatever you ordered. We ordered 2 basque style pork chops plus some crab stuffed mushrooms. The pork chops were so good, flavorful breading and juicy meat. The mushrooms were good too. The highlight for me though was the Ana potato. The sauce was delicious and the potato was cooked perfectly. Our server was great.

Gonna heap some praise on this ol joint. Went in for an early supper tonight. My daughter had prime rib and I had the chicken fried steak off the senior menu. Awesome service, incredible food and we waddled out. This place is the unsung hero of basque style restaurants in Elko. It's our favorite. Great value, incredibly nice people and stellar food

Toki Ona's is a very well known Basque restaurant in Elko with a very good reputation. In my opinion, a good Basque restaurant serves there food family style and that is exactly what you get here. So be prepared to eat or take food home. I ordered a Picon (Basque cockta) and the salmon. The Picon was very good and the first serving was a very nice bean soup. The second serving was an already tossed salad that was good. Then came the two big pieces of perfectly cook salmon along with, rice, pasta, green beans and the traditional plate of French fries. The salmon was very good, fries were a bit limp and the other three dishes were good but plain. I will definitely be back to give them another try and recommend you give them a try.

Stepping into Toki Ona, I felt like I had wandered into an age-old Basque boarding house, where every guest is treated like family and every plate is prepared with the kind of care that speaks to tradition. For our first visit, my husband dove into a dish that could've fed a whole cuadrilla: tender pork chops paired with a colorful spread of pasta salad, rice with peas, carrots, and corn, and a generous helping of green beans that would make any amuma (grandmother) proud. As a bariatric vegetarian, I was more limited in my options but still found warmth in the classic comfort of a grilled cheese and the cozy companion that was the Ana potato--fluffy, savory, and soul-soothing. Before we even got to the main course, we were welcomed with fresh-baked Basque bread (a hug in loaf form) and a zesty salad topped with a dressing that whispered garlic, embraced mayo, and kissed olive oil. We passed on dessert this time--only because our bellies waved the white flag--but I've already got my eyes set on the tiramisu for our next round. If the starters are any indication, dessert will be just as soul-satisfying. In true Basque spirit, the portions are generous, the flavors comforting, and the hospitality unassuming yet warm. Toki Ona may translate to "the good place," but I'd add "the right place"--especially when you're hungry for something real.

Our full table. The soup had already been removed.

Four of us came to Toki Ona for dinner for the first time recently. We all agreed that Toki Ona is indeed a good place. We arrived early and seating was not a problem. By 6 pm, nearly every table was taken and a group of 11 had come in. My husband and I shared a main, the cod. The split plate charge was $13.95. A good deal for all the sides. Once seated and drink orders taken, soup arrived on the table quickly. Beef barley. This was no watery broth. It was a hearty soup with plenty of beef and barley. It had deep flavor, body, and black pepper zing. We'd be glad to have thst for dinner alone. The bread was also really good. The salad, green beans, sphagetti, and rice was fine. Not particularly outstanding, but not bad. The other surprise was the potate choice. Toki Ona gives you a choice of fries, baked potato, or Ana potatoe. The Ana potatoe is much like a scslloped potato, but Toki ona does it one better. They slice a potatoe and put it back together and cook it in butter and seasonings. It is exceptionally good looking and delicious. I recommend it highly. For the main I shared the cod with my husband. When asked how I'd like it, I replied medium. I guess it was the spicing level. The cod was cooked well and tasted a bit like it was blackened. Service was really good. The busy wait staff checked on us even as the dining room filled up with patrons. All in all, we really enjoyed our dinner here and would come back in a heart beat.

First time visiting Toki Ona and was pleasantly surprised!! We visited during Cowboy Poetry and I have to say, the food was good and service was surprisingly fast!! Three of us came in and were sat immediately, there was no wait which was awesome. We ordered two Eggs Benedict breakfasts, two bowls of Chicken Noodle Soup, and a BLT with fries and a house side salad. First of all, the soup was so good. The noodles seemed homemade, while the broth was flavorful and just what we needed on a cold day. The house side salad was a classic basque salad with that creamy garlicky dressing basque salads are known for. My son's BLT with Avocado was big with fresh veggies. My son said he wished the fries were crispier and not as limp, but had great flavor. The Eggs Benedict was yummy and the hollandaise had good flavor, however, the yolks of my eggs were definitely overcooked and therefore I didn't get that yummy runny yolk experience you love with Benedict. And the hashbrowns could have been more crispy. However the English muffins were soooo good. All in all the food was really delicious and the lunch menu has a lot of variety. I can't wait to go back and try a Philly cheesesteak... but I might have to bring my own whiz!

You get served bread butter soup to start your dinner.

The restaurant feels old times yet wet clean and well maintained. They serve their food family style and the waitress attending the tables are very friendly. We had lamb chops pork chops and stuffed shrimp with rice pasta beans salad fries. It was a lot of food. I really enjoyed the shrimp but the rest were just meh.

We came here the Sunday before Memorial Day. They were really busy, but we were still seated and got our drinks very quickly. It seems like we had two servers the whole time, which was a little odd but kept us attended to regularly. The food was pretty good. Our table got biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict, the garden omelette, and an egg combo with bacon, hash browns, and sourdough. Everyone enjoyed the food and plates were cleaned! The atmosphere was comfortable, and it had a diner feel. It's not the absolute best breakfast in Elko, but it was definitely good, and we'd come back.

Wow this place is good. Terra from the Elkotel recommended and it was delicious. Staff was very friendly. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but was clean and spacious in the inside. I recommend the ribeye or the NY with the spicy sautéed shrimp.

Next our server gave us a warm welcome and helped make decisions that involved a food sensitivity. And I haven't even got to the yummy food yet. My husband had the smaller of the two complete American breakfasts offered and it was quite a generous portion. A highlight was the sausage patties. I chose the half and half Benedict which was perfect because I couldn't decide between the two. I selected that one while still looking at the yelp app in my hotel room and it did not disappoint! Each half was huge. And the presentation was beautiful too. Wish I'd taken a picture! A specialty of Dreez' is the chili infused hash browns. They were great and full of flavor and had a delightful mouth feel. A bit of light crispy and just enough creaminess from the cheese and cream in them for balance. Though our super sweet and friendly server did tastefully warn against having them four days in a row for comfort sake, they were not overly spicy. Great flavors! I opted for a side of the country potatoes with my omelet, and was disappointed when they came out covered in bacon and cheese, as nowhere on the menu did it say they came with bacon and cheese. Just a small inconvenience, and it won't change the fact that this is our new go-to breakfast spot when we pass through again in the future.

I heard the food was pretty good here and a decent deal. I go in with one co worker whose driving me around Elko. It's not really too smokey in here, so that's a good thing, but it's not a crowded Saturday night either with all kinds of drinking and smoking at the slots going on. We get seated at a nice table and I go over the menu. They have a prime rib special here for $17.99 and it's available everyday from 11 am! Most of these casino restaurants that have prime rib, only have that on Fri and Sat after like 4 pm. I passed this time, but what I did see was the Chicken Fried Steak! It's supposed to be a 10 oz. beef patty, breaded and deep fried served with country gravy, hashbrowns and toast, and then even THREE eggs, for just $13, that's a deal. In the Bay Area where I was just working, they don't even serve Chicken Fried Steak ..... it's like truck driver food I guess. My friend had this Cali Omelet ... yeah it was sort of breakfast time for us. That was the more healthy option with veggies and no meat, just the opposite of what I ordered! The food came out in short time and look fab! I ordered my Chicken Fried Steak on a separate plat with gravy on the side, so I didn't get gravy all mushed up with my eggs and potatoes. Holy moly, that was a lot of food! Super tasty, I just ate half and took the rest to go, gave it to my friend since I flying back out soon and I don't think the airline would appreciate me bring Chicken fried steak on the plane to eat! The omelet looked better than I thought it was gonna for the price. Tons of avocado on top and fluffy hashbrowns! 5 stars for the food here!

While the garlic bread was decent, I missed the creamy, robust vodka sauce that was promised. - Service: A little on the slow side, though staff were polite once they arrived at the table. The hostess sat us in a separate room from the main dining room. It was hit brightly by the sun and felt like a second thought of leftover dining. Asked if we could sit in main dining room and she obliged. We asked about the menu and took time to review it. After some time we ordered. My husband had the chicken Alfredo and I ordered the PASTA MILANO which is described as: Chicken, Tomatoes, Mushrooms in a Roasted Garlic Cream Sauce over Penne Pasta. Sounds good right? It could have been good. But it was not. First of all, I never got chicken in the dish. The mushrooms were diced and very few in the dish. The only thing they got right was the tomatoes. I called the waitress over and told her that my dish had no chicken in it. She said well do you want some? I smiled and said well that's what the dish was supposed to come with. So I waited. Then I decided to go ahead and start eating my food because seven minutes went by and I still have no chicken. When the dish was originally served,, I asked the waitress for Parmesan cheese. She said we don't have Parmesan cheese, but we have black pepper. Huh???? of course you have Parmesan cheese. I have it on my Caesar salad. I really don't think she knew what Parmesan cheese was. I just shrugged my shoulders and took a bite of my food. Again, great concept. But the food had NO flavor. I added salt and pepper. Still nothing. I took the balsamic vinegar that was on the table and added it to the dish. There, I finally had flavor in my meal. But still no chicken. Finally, another waitress brings out a plate of squiggly worm like meat. She said, did somebody order chicken at this table? I was disgusted. First of all, it was not pleasant to see it look like that. Also, you should've offered to remake my meal, or at least take it back and mix it with the chicken. But to make me wait until my dishes is half gone and then bring over a plate of chicken is a poor decision. The chicken fettuccine had a good flavor. But the chicken was tough. Hard to chew. Not good flavor. I ordered a n/a Heineken. She brought it in a glass to the table. It was already poured so I don't know if I truly got what I ordered. Also the glass was too large for the amount of beer that was in it. Makes it look like it was half a drink. The waitress was kind, but we did not see much of her. She never offered to refill our bread basket. According to the menu, you get two baskets of bread and then if you want more you have to pay. We only got one basket of bread and never offered anymore. I was looking forward to some good pasta, and this restaurant did not deliver. Very disappointed in the service, and most definitely the food. The waitress took five dollars off of our meal, but she never explained why she did it or why she decided to take that amount of money. She never apologized for my dish, not having any protein, she never apologized for any thing. Management needs to teach staff that they can take ownership of the situation. It is OK to say you are sorry that the chicken was not put in your dish. Let's see what we can do to make it right. That would have gone so far. Instead, it left my attitude about this place as tough as the chicken in the fettuccine was.
