The only complaint if any that I have is the fact that the park is simply just grass, no foliage trees or anything pretty much just a giant football field, and there is limited seating. Keep in mind too the type of people that visit this dog park (Allen, Murphy etc) ya know the type who will call 911, if you don't pick up a dog pie within 30 seconds. They also have a book exchange box that is always full of interesting books. When you walk down the trail you'll find a mini exercise machine area that is fully functional. Keep walking down the trail and you'll find a little lake with ducks that my daughter loved. Plenty of grass area for a nice picnic! Parking is available in the residential streets nearby, which is a short walk over. This dog park, 1.2 arces, is within walking distance of many dog friendly restaurants and bars. This park is fenced off so you can let your pup go off leash. This dog park has poop bag dispensers, dog water bowls (although it is better for you to bring your own because those bowls are never clean and you don't want your dog getting sick), water fountains, is shaded for the most part and has some amazing eclectic artwork. We came on a Saturday afternoon, around 3:30 pm. There were only 2 other people with 2 dogs in the park. The ground is mostly dirt, although there is some patches of grass throughout. Please note that there is no small dog side or big dog side, it is all one giant open space. For the most part, I really enjoyed the art. My little girl just enjoyed following me around (lol) though. Overall, a nice little neighborhood park that is quite unique. But please note that because this is in downtown, you may see some homeless folks, as we saw some (not inside the dog park, but around the area). Please note that the park is closed on Tuesdays for maintenance.

It seems that on Friday evenings there is a group of people who do happy hour at a local establishment then come to the Addison Dog Park with their dogs. I'm sure the doggies are very sweet as individuals, but as a pack coming every Friday evening they sort of think they own the place, ie: pack mentality and new dogs are not welcome. One of the guys who seems to be in charge of the group of people who coincidentally has the alpha dog of the pack tried to re-assure me that after a few more trips my dog would be comfortable to join the pack. There didn't seem to be much improvement the rest of the night though so I will just avoid this place on Friday evenings and perhaps you should do the same. Having said that Friday nights aside Addison has a nice dog park. It is tricky to find as it is located just south of Belt Line down Midway, sandwiched between an apartment complex and a group of office buildings that look more like buildings you would find on a college campus. The easiest way to access the dog park is to turn into the parking lot of a restaurant/small strip shopping place right before you get to Proton road and the hotel. It is definitely tucked away!! The dog park really has no tree coverage but has beautiful, lush grass. It is nice to find a dog park with lush grass. There is a section for big dogs and one for small dogs and both sections are good sized. They have plenty of doggie bag dispensers and a couple of benches and trash cans. It seems to be frequented with lots of various dogs but isn't too crowded. There is also a water fountain at the level of the dogs so they can get a drink. I think that the Keller Springs dog park is more popular than this place but Addison's dog park is nice and worth visiting. Just beware of Friday evenings.
