Pros of DEEP ELLUM DOG PARK: -2 min from my house -cool views of downtown -they just expanded the park -most people here are really friendly -it's pretty decently clean for a dog park -it's fenced off so dog can't run in the street -it's a good place to help your dog socialize Cons: -there can be a lot of creepy homeless people that are around and sometimes come into the park -you have to ask if other people's dogs are aggressive or play with others. I've seen 2 dogs bitten at this location

This is a tough one to review because there are so many pluses and minuses. I have to go with three stars just for the lack of separate area for small dogs. Pluses: -Ample, well-stocked poop stations -Beautiful artwork all around -Giant open area to run and play. Seriously, it's huge. -Wood chips covering the ground keep it nice and dry. Minuses: -Location under overpasses makes for a loud, unrelaxing visit. If you have noise-averse pups, then maybe best to avoid. It's LOUD. -Parking is scarce. We went on a weekday after Christmas and were able to get a metered spot. -No separate area for small dogs. As an owner of two small dogs, this is a biggie (see what I did there).

Such a cute little park. It's spacious and the location is really cool. There's a lot of parking very close and it's cheap. The only improvement I could suggest is fixing the areas of the grounds where water pools up and it's pretty gross. Of course my dog went right for it when we got there but dogs are dirty so what can you expect?

Most of the park is under one overpass or another

Deep Ellum Dog Park is at least spacious! Plenty of room to play fetch with your pooch, and enough space to accommodate crowded weekend mornings. There's mulch on one side of the park, and grass/mostly dirt on the other side. It's mostly completely all under two underpasses so if you're dog is skittish, this may not be the park for you. It's not separated either, so if you're dog doesn't do well with small/big dogs, whatever they may be, you should take that into consideration - it's usually a lot of bigger dogs when I've stopped by. I suggest parking on Henry and walking over, if it's before 6pm. The art on the underpass pillars is contributed by a local high school, if I'm not mistaken, and is definitely a highlight of the park. There benches shaped like dog bones, too, which I think is a pretty cute touch. Plenty of poop bag stations, and I've only been once when the bags needed to be replaced in a couple of them. That's pretty good in my experience, and I'm at the dog park at least twice a week. I can't give more stars because I hate all the dirt, and the mulch smells like SURPRISE! Dog pee! I assume parking would be a huge issue after 6PM as well. Great resource for people who live within walking distance though!

Since our beloved white rock dog park is under construction, we have been looking high and low for a suitable substitute. We found the Deep Ellum Dog Park completely by chance- it is tucked away under 75. Parking is a little hard to find as well, but there seems to be a corner of a warehouse parking lot that corresponds to the northwest corner of the park. I like that the park is relatively large and gives our hyperactive dog a chance to use up his energy. The columns and walls around it are painted and quite entertaining to look at while the dogs play. It is one park for all sizes, but the dogs that are here today all play nicely with one another.

Deep Ellum Dog Park was a success!

With 3 dogs, we are always searching for places to exercise our pups. This place is sufficient! We love the feel of the park! There is plenty of room. Parking is metered but it's pretty cheap (.25 for 30mins). We went on a Sunday afternoon and there was 4 other dogs there as well. There are lots of poop stations, benches, and the overpass provides plenty of shade! We will be returning!!

    So big!

Pretty nice park when it's not raining. Love the art. Poop is everywhere and smells pretty bad there. Just don't wear your good shoes.

Great place. Enough space for dogs to run but contained so you don't lose track. Clean/well maintained. Bring change for parking...

Take your dog here and pick up their poop like the rest of us. Good Park. It's not overly crowded and seems to be well maintained.

The people and dogs are friendly, and the overpass provides some much needed shade during the hot summer.

What a treasure Klyde Warren Park is for Dallas! Opened in 2012 on a deck over a freeway, it now…read moreserves as a central hub of events for the downtown Dallas area. Today while I was at the park there was a vibrancy that was contagious. It brought the Chicago song, Saturday In The Park to mind, but I am still looking for the man selling Ice Cream! He is probably here, I just have not found him yet! Of course I have not made to the Food Truck section yet, and THAT is probably where he is at... So far I have seen people playing life-size Chess, kids playing in a dancing fountain, venders selling goods, authors selling books, people playing ping pong, and "a man playing guitar singing for us all!"

Anything downtown I will always rate at least a star or 2 lower due to horrendous parking options…read more Park was pretty lively and full of activity though. I will say the playground's pretty chaotic at times. Bunch of brats unsupervised being annoying. Saw this kid helping her little sister up one of the climbing net structures with a slide midway up and the kid was telling another kid to move so her little sister can get by. Now I get it if the other kid was just parked there not moving but the kid was moving but maybe not at the pace the brat wanted. To me, seems like a you problem and someone didn't tell her the world didn't revolve around her and her little sister. Was at another part of the playground and noticed a mom suddenly started yelling obscenities because she lost her son. She was just sitting at a bench I guess closer to her other 2 kiddos. Um newsflash. If you can't handle 3 kids, your poor choices don't need to infect other people trying to enjoy their time there. She eventually found her son but yet another story of someone who thinks the world revolves around themselves.
