I ordered Mother's day flowers and paid for an upgraded arrangement. I was totally embarrassed by the awful arrangement they sent which was mostly ferns and a couple daylilies plus they didn't include the card so she didn't know who sent it. They don't answer the phone or return calls so you can't discuss problems with them. I will NEVER use them again!! read more

Due to the limitations of flower shops that are in the area. I turned to Yelp and read past & present reviews that didn't place the shop & customers experience in the best light. Which I noticed this is part-time shop with limited hours. Instead of going thru a 2nd party I called them directly. I was assisted by Donna to help facilitate the order & delivery of the flowers. To ensure they would be delivered on the intended date. Not only was it delivered to the destination, I received a call from Donna & email informing me as well. I choose the deluxe option. No need to send someone a miniature toy version of flowers. Both myself & the recipients were pleased. read more

if I could give a zero star, I would. I ordered 2 arrangements for my daughter's funeral. one standing, the other was the center piece for my daughters urn. well, the center piece was not delivered because they couldn't read their own order information correctly and the standing set had wilted flowers. these arrangements were ordered 2 weeks before her service and guaranteed. To say I was very disappointed is an understatement and will never use nor recommend this florist to anyone in the future. read more

I ordeded flowers in a beautiful pink vase with all pink flowers for my new great granddaughter. It was a pick up which they advertised. I prepaid the order. The flowers were promised to be ready for transport to southern Virginia at a promised time. They were not and as a substittue was given a dish garden with a pink bow! Very disappointed at the poor customer service will not recommend or use them again. read more

In all fairness - I ordered flowers for a sick friend through avasflowers.net on a Thursday and asked for Saturday deliver, you know; to give them time to make it happen - even though it said it had 'guaranteed' one day delivery. It didn't get there till Monday. Wrong balloon colors and looking a little more anemic than they should have. I found out what florist they'd come from and it was Garner and Duff. Left a review on Facebook that was promptly answered by Zach (the owners son) and they said they wouldn't be using AVA's anymore: this was the last straw as they'd had problems before. However, the flowers did look very anemic and so I'm reviewing here. See photos of what it should have looked like and what it did look like. read more

I can't select a rating as I have not used them before. I am only writing on here to let everyone know what I have learned when you use places like 1-800, Avas, From you flowers, etc...Go directly to the florist itself. When you order through these companies and especially if you use a coupon code, the florist takes that into consideration when making up your arrangement. I once sent my daughter flowers when she was away at school through one of these companies, when the flowers arrived I was devastated. I called and spoke to the flower shop that handled the order and was told that if I buy a $40 arrangement and use a coupon code for 25% off, I'm not going to get a $40 arrangement, it will be a $30 arrangement because the florist isn't going to lose money on my deal. Just food for thought next time you buy flowers. Go to the florist directly! read more

Waste of $35.00 dollars, I would have done better going to Wegmans and spending half the amount for twice as much! I guess they needed to add another $10 - $15 dollars because they called it a Christmas bouquet. Wish I could add a photo, all that was included was Red & White Carnations and a piece of pine.... Received Mother's Day flowers on Friday. By Monday the bouquet was ready for the trash. I called and complained and they promised a fresh bouquet would be delivered that day. It never came. The last time I had flowers delivered from them I never even heard a knock on my door (I have Yorkies who bark at a knock and they never made a noise) and after calling to find out where my flowers were was told a note had been left when no one answered. The note was on the back window of my mini van. What the heck? I would NEVER get flowers from them. Ever. read more

Bought flowers from them through "From You Flowers" (F-you flowers in my opinion). Paid upcharge of $20 for nicer bouquet and another $5 for a balloon. Received basic bouquet and no balloon. Had to hold F-you flowers feet to the fire on-line to get any refund at all, 4 email exchanges and still not happy. F-you flowers indicated that their "partners" (like GD flowers) can substitute other bouquets. What's the point? Go to Safeway and get nicer flowers for a fraction of the cost. read more

I didn't have a very clear idea of what I wanted for my wedding centerpieces. Gail at G&D was able to take the few specifications I did have and create some beautiful centerpieces that lasted over a week after the wedding. The same was true for my bouquet; she was able to create something perfect for the setting without very clearcut descriptions from me on what I was looking for. Thumbs up. read more

I wish I'd looked at the reviews before ordering, because another florist would have had the opportunity to please or disappoint me. Don't order from Garner & Duff without talking to them about what you're gonna get. I ordered an arrangement called something like "Blue Waves". The image looked kinda small so I paid for the "premium" version. When I got to the funeral home, I looked for my arrangement. There it was - just as small as the image on the web page! They'd called to say they'd have to substitute for the Callas lillies they didn't have. I asked how that affected the price and was told they'd make it fuller to compensate for the subbing. I agreed, only to be disappointed when I saw it. When I called to express my disappointment, I was told that I'd ordered a "Table arrangement" so of course it was small! They insisted they'd filled my order "to value" and offered nothing as a courtesy. When I asked what I'd have got if I'd ordered the standard version, I was answered with a dial tone. Worst florist I have ever dealt with ! ! ! Ordered flowers for my wife for Mother's Day to be delivered to her job a mile from GARNER & DUFF. Special request was to deliver as early in the day as possible so patients and coworkers could see during the day. Called my wife at 3:15 P.M. to see if she received them. The answer NO,so I called GARNER & DUFF and a young man advised that most of their orders did not get delivered on Friday at least. NO APOLOGY WHATSOEVER, LIKE MY WIFE WOULDN'T NOTICE NOT RECEIVING FLOWERS THAT SHE HAS FOR THE PAST 25 YEARS ! ! NO PROBLEM SENDING A CONFIRMATION E-MAIL AND CHARGE TO MY BANK. Absolutely thrilled with my arrangement from Garner and Duff. I ordered a custom piece for my husband for fathers day (whom owns a car repair shop). The owner was very kind and helpful and made it a very personal experience. The arrangement was delivered on the correct day in an beautiful antique-looking car vase. My husband was so thrilled and could not believe it was such a unique piece. I have ordered and received from this florist many times and have always been so pleased with the work.
