What was supposed to be a standard stay turned into a living nightmare due to a severe bed bug infestation and a complete breakdown of basic hotel management and customer service. We discovered bed bugs in our room. When we immediately contacted the front desk (around 1 AM), the nightmare really began. It took an unacceptable 27 minutes for a staff member to even show up to speak with us. To make matters worse, they refused to come up to the room to inspect the bugs and shockingly declined to even view the video evidence we had clearly captured. Their apathy was staggering. We were finally moved to a new room on the opposite side of the hotel at 7 AM. After almost no sleep, we were then woken up shortly after by loud, pervasive construction noise directly outside our new room. When I went to the front desk to complain, the manager was incredibly rude and, in a breathtaking display of dishonesty, completely denied that any construction work was happening at the hotel. Furthermore, we were unable to use the pool or gym during our entire stay as they were closed or unavailable, a detail not disclosed to us beforehand. As we were attempting to check out and leave, our exit was physically blocked. The construction crew was using the only functional exit door, making it impossible for us to leave with our luggage for some time. This is not only unacceptable service but a major safety hazard. The manager has refused to refund us for the night we spent with the bed bugs. We are longtime guests who have stayed here twice a year for years. This experience was not just "bad service"; it was a total failure. This hotel is garbage, the staff is unprofessional and rude, and the management is dishonest. We will NEVER stay at this property again and strongly advise every traveler to steer clear for their own health and safety. We also had a few drinks during the night. The Black Cherry Old Fashioned was decent but they were out of cherries, which was a shame. Our only gripe with the room was that the pull-out couch bed was very uncomfortable and we had to make the bed ourself, it was just a mattress. We will likely stay here again next time we go to the New York Renaissance Faire, as it's close and affordable with no big flaws!

AND DOESN'T RESPECT CONTEMPORARY WOMEN OR PEOPLE WHO ARE IN LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIPS. My 15-year-old son won a local tennis tournament and needed a last-minute hotel room, so I booked a room at 11:30 pm using reward Choice points for him and his mother. The manager and owner refused to let them stay at the hotel because her driver's license didn't have my last name. The Choice Hotels Rewards program clearly says immediate family, children and partners can stay at hotels booked using reward points (see below) The manager said 'there's a lot of fraud these days' in the Choice Points Hotel program and DEMANDED a marriage certificate (which is not required by Choice Rewards rules). Bottom line, at midnight, the owner and manager kicked my family out of the hotel. They wouldn't let them stay there EVEN THOUGH I USED 6,000 REWARD POINTS AND PAID AN ADDITIONAL $48 for the night. And they kicked them out without refunding my credit card payment or points. I swear this is the truth. IF YOU'RE A MODERN WOMAN who believes you should be able to keep your own last name (and not have to carry a marriage certificate to prove you're married) - or if you're a man who supports women keeping their own identity, STAY ANYWHERE ELSE. IF YOU HAVE A LONG-TERM PARTNER as part of your immediate family and you believe businesses should consider your long-term partner as part of your family, STAY ANYWHERE ELSE. IF YOU BELIEVE IT'S NOT OKAY FOR A HOTEL OWNER AND MANAGER TO KICK A CHILD AND HIS MOTHER OUT OF PAID HOTEL ROOM AT MIDNIGHT, STAY ANYWHERE ELSE. No coffee, no pitchers of chilled water, cookies, apples.....No signs to indicate where the elevator is, which happens to be quite a distance from the lobby. Rooms are spacious, nicely appointed and very clean. Service? Well we arrived at 11:30am and were told no rooms were available and that they would text us when one was ready. We stored our bags. Having received no text, we returned at 2:15 to find out that there were a number of rooms ready. Oh well, sorry to say overall this is a pretty dismal experience, not one that we have come to expect from Doubletree or other Hilton properties.

The bathroom caulk has broken down and dark substances around the bathroom cabinets - lack of basic maintenance. As the room phone was broken, I had to speak to the manager in person to resolve the issues. Here is are the results: They moved a loveseat into the suite - yay a place for my family to sit. They brought me a microwave. I guess they move this microwave from room to room as people complain. They didn't do anything about the busted video games- they don't seem to care about this. They said they don't have a replacement phone so I just don't get a phone in my room. They gave me a couple of rolls of toilet paper at the front desk. Not a big deal, but having to go down the elevator because your room phone is busted really sucks. They didn't have replacement room phone so it will just stay broken for the next customers. The superstart breakfast was supposed to have muffins and granola bars as the food. On the last day, the front desk guy only put out blueberry muffins - I asked him for the granola bars and chocolate muffins- he said the General Manager only told him to out blueberry muffins and he was told not to put out the granola bars, so I didn't get anything for breakfast as I didn't want blueberry muffins. He gave me the phone number of the gerneral manager to call him on Monday. Please be certain that if you stay in this room after me - you will have the same problems as me as they don't intend on fixing these things. The room rate was $145 per night was good but we didn't get what was promised and the suite was way way below sub par. I am going to try and get a refund from Expedia as I didn't get what I paid for. I hope this review saves yelpers some disappointment.

We came back to relax and eat. Sadly my food was cold so I went downstairs to microwave my food. Hours later we went back out for dinner we took the stair and when we got to the first floor a man with no mask was walking with around the hallway with a cigarette in his mouth. When we get into the parking lot we realize that there were a lot of cars. As we're leaving to get dinner, and drinks. We came back an hour later to see all the parking spaces full. Lucky we found the last spot. Sadly a couple came in after us looking for a parking spot for a while. We came inside from side entrance realizing the door was cracked open unlocked which is a safety hazard. The next morning I looked on the website to see what time breakfast starts. Unfortunately it didn't say anything about what time breakfast started. I went downstairs around 8:30. I went to the front , a guy behind the front desk by the door looked the other way and knew I was standing there. I had to say excuse is breakfast close he said yes. I then saw a sign that breakfast starts at I think 5am to 8am. I would think it will close till 9:30 or at least have a sign so people know when they check in. You're basically paying for what you get. They do require guest to wear mask when you walk around the front desk or hallway. I feel that all the staff should be wearing mask. I saw a couple with no mask on.

I also completed some of check-in online. Being one of the drivers, I was ready to relax once I got to my room. Opening the door was a breath of fresh air. Everything was clean and in place. After showering, I was able to take a nap in record time. Check-in was on a Friday afternoon. We checked out on a Sunday morning. Breakfast was great every morning; it tasted better being free & included. I forgot to include pictures. Parking can be a little tricky when returning late at night. I haven't had the best experience at Hilton properties. I'd definitely return to this one if I'm back in the area.

I've accumulated points, chosen IHG over competitors, and considered myself a loyal customer. After this experience, I am done and I mean that. During a family vacation in NJ and NY, my wife discovered the in-room phone wasn't working, leaving her no way to reach anyone for guest or room services. She went to the front desk for help. A staff member named Sharon told her to go talk to the bartender and said she had no other way to help. That alone was bad enough. But what made it truly unacceptable was how Sharon treated my wife during that conversation. She raised her voice. She rolled her eyes. She spoke in a condescending, belittling tone, all over a minor miscommunication about whether my wife said "room service" or "guest/room service." A guest should never, under any circumstance, be spoken to that way by a front desk professional. Later that evening, I asked to speak with the front desk manager on the spot. Sharon told me her manager was not available and that she had no idea when her manager would be in for the rest of the week. In other words, there was no escalation path offered whatsoever. I followed up with a formal written complaint to hotel management. I also contacted IHG corporate directly. I received zero response. Not an acknowledgment. Not an apology. Nothing. That silence tells me everything I need to know about how IHG values its loyal members. I have accumulated IHG points over many years of faithful stays. I now regret that loyalty and am prepared to forfeit every single point rather than give this brand another dollar of my business. I will not return to this property. I will not stay at another IHG hotel. If you are an IHG member reading this know that your loyalty may not mean what you think it does when it actually matters. Avoid this hotel. Not many minutes later, I looked up during my shower to find white, brown, and black mold, to which I am profoundly deathly allergic, rare genetics yay!. The receptionist who was sick and coughing all over my keys (now I've got it, thanks for sharing!) said they were sold out and wouldn't switch the room. My throat was starting to constrict but I wasn't in a condition to go anywhere else so I took some Benadryl and prayed I'd make it. I spent two weeks in the hospital over this only two weeks ago. I woke in the morning in the overwhelming pain of a full blown allergic reaction and asked for a different room. The staff was completely discombobulated and in what I could only guess was a state of fear, it was so bizarre. It took them FOUR HOURS to give me keys to a different room that wasn't already occupied. And then three people let themselves into my room throughout the day and the employees kept calling and stopping by to ask me what was going on. The next morning as I was packing up to leave, I got a response to my email from the General Manager Cynthia Amaro who proceeded to tell me there was no mold. Well, allergic reaction to a toxin is a pretty involuntary phenomenon so my eyes, body, and my genes would beg to differ. I chose not to continue to be gaslighted and hung up to continue packing. She called over and over while I asked her to leave me be. My body was still reeling. Instead she came to my room with a bouncer dude and harassed me until I told her 8+ times in a row to go away and leave me alone so that I could finish packing to leave. She continued to speak over me so that she could ultimately threaten me with the police if I wasn't gone in 20 minutes. It was clear why the staff was such a mess for her insane intimidation tactics. Logic? Reason? Bueller? Bueller? So I called the police because it was very clear I was not safe and she was waiting to pounce. They arrived and we chatted about our military service and they characterized the manager as "very aggressive" and said they had been called to the hotel many times. Not only was my bill not refunded for the immense danger I was subjected to, or compensated for the days of illness it would take my body to recover, but I was charged for a third night when I only booked and stayed two. If you're good with toxic mold, a petrified incompetent staff, a wild loose cannon manager that the police are very familiar with, being physically intimidated and then over-charged... this is the hotel for you!! Word to the wise: keep your clothes on because you never know when some entitled person will walk through the door and engage you in a discussion about why you're already there. I think it's a pretty common occurrence given the fact they first sent me to an alternative room that was already occupied. Idk, maybe communal housing with strangers is your thing.
