Friendly staff that was fairly communicative and knew how to leverage technology (a rarity for contractors) but their designer gave a verbal quote of over $100 per square foot for pavers. That price is through the roof, even for Boston standards. I found someone to do it for a quarter of that. Edit in response to comment: The designer did not give a per square foot estimate, but rather said that a ~60 square foot area would be $6500-8000. So I did the math to compare it to other quotes. read more

My review has nothing to do with the quality of this landscaping company's product, or how they perform their actual landscaping maintenance, as I never had the opportunity to experience those, only the poorest new customer service ever. After a confusion, which was on my part, of not getting response after setting up an appointment, we did finally set up a review appointment. They looked at the property, we went over the services I required and they sent me a contract to sign so they could commence. All this went fine. It is the series of empty "when we will start work" promises which followed, is why I am writing this review. First it was Tuesday, then it was Thursday. The email from their office manager noting that they would "definitely be there tomorrow (Friday) to commence the work made me feel that a series of communication problems must be internally happening with their operation. Friday of that week 2 representatives showed up in a Garrick-Santo Landscape marked truck and never did a thing - no service whatever to my property. No note, no phone message, nothing explaining why they did not perform any service that day. Needless to say, I called and emailed their office manager - that Friday night at 6:30 p.m. - that they were in breach of the contract and I did not want them to do anything to my property. If that was their version of "definitely" I did not want to be the recipient of their version of "maybe" as far as scheduling is concerned. To date I have still not received any correspondence explaining their inaction. read more

Not sure what gives with these landscaping companies not returning calls. A buddy of mine knows Rob Santos, so I called over two weeks ago and left a message with his secretary. She told me he would get the message the following day. Still waiting to hear back. I'm aware this is the busy season for them, but I don't think a call back is asking too much. The design team (Anita, Mandy) have great ideas to keep my yard looking pristine. The ground crew are very professional. They arrive on schedule, are always pleasant and do a great cut and clean-up. This company does the landscaping for our condo building and there was an incident where they pushed snow up against our building, causing water to leak into a unit. We had to pay to fix the problem and the company did nothing to discount the bill. Beware! read more

Called Garrick-Santo Landscaping company to redo my walkway...We have lived at our current residence for over 7 years and the old concrete walkway was cracked, with weeds poking through and quite frankly a complete eyesore. I wasn't sure what material to put down to "fit" the house (anything BUT concrete would have been fine). We ended up with bricks to match the stairs. They not only did brick but a wonderful border that I wasn't expecting. The workers were precise, and extremely hardworking. I LOVE the finished walkway!!!! My yard was extemely uneven, graded toward my house and sunken-in in many spots from old rotted roots. I had the entire lawn ripped up, new loam installed, regraded away from house, leveled and new seed put down. It was a lot of work. The crew was timely, professional, hard working and cleaned up beautifully before leaving for the night. The grass started coming up the following week and all the rain we had definitely helped that, but it also revealed how leveling the yard and regrading the pitch helped to keep a lot of water out of the french drain in my basement. Anita was always available to answer all of my questions and followed up with me to make sure I was pleased with the outcome. Very happy customer! read more
