While waiting in the waiting room I listened to how the women at the desk speak to other clients thinking maybe it's just me. Maybe they just don't like me. But nope. Everyone was equally treated with the exact same overwhelmingly rude behavior. Even hanging up on a caller asking a question. She rolled her eyes and yelled "I can't hear you ma'am." I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office in upstate NY. I first went in on a…read moreFriday. The doctor examined me and said I needed a filling but that it wasn't an emergency. He told me I could come back on Sunday and wouldn't be charged again, aside from the $160 consultation fee I paid that day. When I returned Sunday for the actual procedure, the doctor told me the cavity was larger than expected but that he hoped he saved the tooth from needing a root canal. However, after the treatment, the receptionist chased after me saying I owed another $500. I reminded her that the doctor had said on Friday there would be no additional charge. When I asked the doctor, he claimed that Friday's payment was only for the consultation -- which is not what he had originally told me. I also asked why the price was so high when specialists in Manhattan charge $250-$300 for the same thing. He admitted he's not a specialist but claimed he doesn't set the prices -- that Mrs. Malek does. I asked to speak with her, but the receptionist said she was afraid to call her, as she had done so the week before and was treated very badly. She also said, "I know we're expensive -- too bad." I feel misled, overcharged, and treated unfairly. Had I known the real cost beforehand, I would have gone to a trusted dentist in Manhattan instead. I do not recommend this office.
