Went for a consultation and just wasn't impressed. Was examined by a tall brunette gal who I can't tell you her name cause she never identified herself. Very poor interpersonal skills. I'm dealing with my vision here. I'd like to feel like someone cares. I didn't. They told me after lasik surgery I'd still need reading glasses so I declined. I went for another opinion. The second opinion disagreed. He said lasik in one eye and PRK in the other would work better. Went to be evaluated for cataract surgery. Factory-like atmosphere. Fine. When Infinally got to the doctor he did his bit, recommended surgery and then stepped out and another guy (strong used-car salesman vibe) came in to discuss lens selection. He told me I had a selection of two lenses and recommended ones costing $4k, not covered by insurance so that I could see 20/20 distance and "just use readers for near vision!" I told him "well I work on computers a lot and read a lot, near vision is more important to me, are there options that would give me near vision without glasses." Used car salesman says "no." So, I agree to pay $4k. Feeling weird about things I go to another doctor and am told the exact opposite: "Seems like you're used to being near-sighted and the good news is your insurance will cover the full cost of lenses to preserve that!" Run screaming from this place! They're lying to people about medical issues so that they can make a profit. read more

My sister had a consultation back in September for laser eye surgery. She really wanted to get it done but have been putting it off for a while. She had the courage to set an appointment and needed someone to take her home...that is where I come in. They have 3 locations: Long Island, Brooklyn & Manhattan. We went to the Long Island location because it is closer. The parking situation there is limited and confusing. The office is spacious and clean. The receptionist is friendly & personable. The staff is so informative and explained everything to us several times. The actual procedure, to me, felt like 5 minutes max, most of the time is spent waiting in the waiting room. I watched the entire procedure being done to my sister and that made her feel very comfortable since I was in the room with her. Afterwards, she received her medications and made a follow up appointment. Her eyes and nose were watering a lot and became sensitive to sun light after the procedure. However, today she is fine and says she has perfect vision. She use the discount from power 105.1 fm breakfast club to help reduce the cost if the procedure. read more

I wanted to wait to write this one week post-surgery, and honestly, it's the absolute best thing I ever did for myself! I used to read so many Lasik reviews, and I can't believe I'm on the other side now writing this. The only negative part of the entire experience was my own anxiety and worry. If you're thinking of getting Lasik with Dello Russo, I highly suggest it based upon my experience! I went for multiple consultations at quite a few Lasik places before deciding to go with Dello Russo. I had my first consultation with Dello Russo at their Brooklyn office in Summer 2019. The staff (especially Ralph) were really friendly and answered the numerous questions that I had for them. Seriously, I had a list of 15 questions written out. I'm really squeamish with my eyes, and they were so patient with me. They told me I was a candidate and could schedule my surgery, but I chickened out and chose to delay. Fast forward to Summer 2020 and I finally worked up the courage to do it... I called to schedule a consultation this time at the Long Island Office to make sure I was still a good candidate for Lasik. The Long Island office has ample parking and the building is really nice. I decided to schedule my surgery for the following week. Ahmed walked me through finances, all of the eye drops I would need to get, and told me to call him if I had any questions. He also gave me a sheet of paper with staff contact info, post-op eyedrops regimen, and what to expect following the surgery which is super helpful. On the day of my surgery, Cathy at the front desk put me so much at ease. She was so warm and her humor really helped me relax. Multiple people were walking out post-surgery excited about their brand new vision and trying to ease other patients' nerves. You have to fill out some paperwork which was a bit daunting, but Michael, Cathy and Ahmed were there to answer all of my questions. I also opted to take the Xanax and that helped me to relax a lot too. I sat in a quiet room and Ralph came to put the numbing drops in my eyes. I opted to have my surgery in the evening with Dr Jeffrey Dello Russo, so I was the last one for the day. The actual procedure itself was no more than 10 minutes long. Ralph eased my nerves throughout and let me know how things were progressing. I did have a few moments where my vision went dark and I couldn't really tell whether my eyes were open or not. I actually asked Ralph if they were open during the procedure..lol. Anyway, it looks like a Christmas light show with red and green when they actually correct your vision, and before you know it, it's over. I think my first words post-op were " really, that's it"? I was able to see immediately after the surgery with slightly blurry vision. They tell you to keep your eyes closed as much as possible right after the procedure. I thanked all the staff for my epic new vision, put on my protective sunglasses, and my boyfriend took me home. (My boyfriend actually did his Lasik procedure with Dello Russo 13 years ago, and still sees 20/20 with no issues!) When I got home, I knocked out right away, and the next morning when I woke up, I finally got to experience the feeling that everyone always talks about. I woke up seeing clearly without contacts or glasses for the first time in my life! Hands down, one of the best moments of my life. Post-surgery, the team at Dello Russo was incredible. They actually texted me the same night after my surgery to check and see how I was feeling and to let me know that they were there if I had any questions. I actually had an issue getting the prescribed eyedrops from my pharmacy and Ahmed came to the rescue. (Note to others: make sure you get your prescribed eyedrops ahead of time and not the day of the surgery like I did, especially if you go to a smaller non-big chain pharmacy). My pharmacy didn't have it in stock, and the order took longer than expected. I called Ahmed and within 10 minutes, he sent the prescription over to a Walgreens near me to make sure I got the drops. He's awesome! My recovery is going really well so far. I have not experienced any pain, discomfort, or dry eyes, which I'm really thankful for. I went for my first post-op appointment 5 days after so they could take out the contacts that help you heal. I was in and out within 10 minutes. They told me that my next appointment is in 6 weeks but feel free to reach out if anything comes up. I thanked them again for my new-found vision. A Review Worth Reading.... I had my lasik Surgery in October 2018. It is now June 2019 and I have very deep regrets about getting the highly praised lasik surgery. I followed the pre and post operative care attentively and have not seen the results I anticipated. I was aware of the risks and willingly accepted them. In my opinion the office and staff were not exceptional rather untrained and useless. Approximately 1-2 weeks after my surgery I experienced blurry vision and a struggle to focus on lights after 8pm. I made it a primary concern to address this issue at my follow up appointment, however I was told not to worry as this is normal. Months later and after zero improvement my next appointment I was told "maybe you can invest in some sort of nighttime glasses" To this day I have seen no improvement and have nothing but regret. It's disheartening to know after spending thousands on surgery to be told you should invest in glasses. If you wish to continue with Lasik do your research and haggle with the price of the surgery. read more

I walked into Dr. Dello Russo's office for a free consultation. The nurses checked my eyes and cleared me for the operation. I was happy to learn that I was eligible for the LASIK blade less procedure. After discussing the financials they made a note that I would be able to do it the same day. Wow that was Amazing! So, they put a few drops to numb my eyes and I was on my way. They put me under a machine and everything happened in a matter of seconds. It was really fast, painless and effective! I have clear vision now! God bless I am absolutely grateful. One side effect: dry eyes. Use artificial tear drops. I knew the risks for LASIK before I went in for surgery and all I can say is that the risk does not compare to perfect 20/20 vision. I was a little nervous about the procedure, but it literally took but 30 seconds in each eye (so I really didn't have time to have a panic attack). I had my laser eye surgery done in January and i have absolutely no regrets ! I did my research so I had my questions ready for my appointment . Everything was answered and I had no worries so I went ahead and did the procedure . As far as cost, i was told the amount up front , no hidden or surprise charges . There are financing options that you may qualify for . I followed up with the medications and followed the instructions given to me for post op care and I had no problems . Yea the goggles were funny looking but I still rocked them !! I made sure I never missed any appointments. I went to the manhattan and Long Island locations. Their staff need to be trained to learn how to be nice to the customers. Some of their staff are rude and incompetent. Me and my friend want to do the Lasik procedure together. When I went there for eye consultation 3 weeks ago, a nurse gave me the quote and said clearly they will give us discount based on two patients(me and my friend) while pay cash won't bring any discount, and they will tell us what the discount is after my friend went there for consultation, so I made an apointment for me and my friend for the eye procedure. Then, my friend went there for consultation before the procedure. Another assistant named Ahmed told her she can have $200 discount if she will pay by cash for the surgery, and he let her paid $300 deposit and signed a paper shows if she cancel the sugery she will have $600 loss. Thus, I'm confused what discount I will have so I called their official phone number shows on google map, a female staff named Nancy picked up the phone and give me the answer: we can both have $300 discount. Then I was informed my friend signed a paper of $200 discount and can not have it adjusted. The nurse named Ahmed called me and said Nancy is wrong, all we can have is $200 discount per person if we bring cash, and we don't have any discount if we pay by card.(Different from first nurse told me there is no disccount by paying cash.) Then I am disapointed about everytime I connect with them different staffs gave us different information, so I said I need talk with my friend if we need cancel the surgery. Ahmed seemed mad and warned me "Your friend already paid $300 non-refundable deposit", and he gave his personal phone number to me for calling back to inform him our decision. I feel weird to call his personal phone number so I called the offical phone number again and preparing to say we can accept the $200 discount but wish their staff can better synchronize their internal information. Then Nancy pick up my phone, without letting me speak a word, she seems upset and said: if you can not bring cash you don't have discount, I have no word to speak to you!" then she hangup the phone. I called back again and I said "you don't even let me speak", she said the same words and hang up the phone again. Amazed me how rude she is. According to their attitude, I decided to not have the surgery in this clinic. Another disappointing thing is even though you arrived on time for the appointment, you are very likely still need to wait for a loooong time. My experience was similar to another reviewer in that at the time of my surgery I was offered the option of a "lifetime" option for an extra $1000.00 which would essentially guarantee the surgery and touch up if needed. In 2009. I had flooding from Sandy and lost most of my paperwork so now I no doubt need glasses again so I called and the office is claiming they have no record of the guarantee in my contract. I truthfully don't remember if I read the entries contract to see if it was written but rather I took the verbal word of the man I was dealing with. I was not alone at the time and have witness to the conversation. My vision was also never 20/20 in each eye but I was told after my first few check up that it was a combined 20/20 that they were looking for which was a red flag as well. I had my surgery performed back in February 2017, before Super Bowl Sunday. I had coke bottle glasses and very poor near sightedness and had problems wearing contact lenses. I come in for consultation with Ahmed, and he was super nice along with his other staff. Today I'm 20/15 and forgot what life was like before Lasik. I got the surgery done on October last year. While I can see everything clearly during the day and they gave me 2 free designer sunglasses, I still have halos and flashes when I see lights during the night. Doctor Jeffrey Dello Russo told me that it would go away in a few weeks. Then he told me that it would go away in a few months, then said six months, and now it's been almost a year, but I still see halos and flashes everywhere during the night when I see a light (even a small bulb). They make you sign papers before the surgery that you won't hold them responsible, so you can't sue them or take any other legal action against them. I was prescribed an eye drop to help reduce the halos, which I used for a few weeks, but nothing happened - the problem persists. I don't know how long these halos and flashes of lights will last. They seriously obstruct my vision because my eyes are dazzled during the night. Please think twice before getting your surgery! Three years later, I still see halos at night! read more
