Where can you get into a baseball game for $10, buy Blue Moon on tap for $5, or $2 domestic drafts and various themed events (ie: hockey theme w/ special blackhawks appearances) all in one?? AT THE GARY SOUTHSHORE RAILCATS GAME!!! I LOVE going to RailCats games. They remind me of going to a White Sox or Cubs game with a smaller stadium and better prices. There are a lot of free giveaways like t shirts, towels, autographs and a bunch of other things I can't even think of. Rusty the RailCat Mascot is a lot of fun and very interactive with the crowds. I can't tell you how much fun these game are, you just have to come and find out for yourself! Also, I just rented a suite for my birthday party. It was all you can eat/ drink(beer/pop), tickets and more for around $40 a person!! Very reasonable for an awesome time!

Had a great time, very entertaining, $2 brews, close free parking, staff is courteous and willing to help and listen! Got a free towel, keep up the good work!! Hope to attend again or see the Cats in Joliet or Schaumberg! Finally, I really enjoyed the PA announcer, has some style and isn't the basic PA voice, makes the game more enjoyable!!

I know Gary can be a scary place but the stadium is a beautiful, safe park. The only way I'll go is by car and by using the expressways. Go to I65 North and that will let you off a 1/2 mile away from the stadium, and it's a straight shot. The park is next to the park and there are tons of cops around the parking lot and inside the stadium. I've been going to the games over about 7 years and there has never been any issues during the game. I love that tickets are cheap and there isn't a bad seat in the place. This is a stadium to take kids who are into baseball. There are a ton of places for children to play. The mascots are all over the place taking photos and having fun with everyone and the players are approachable before the game. Most will take the time to give autographs and pictures with anyone. The biggest pain about this place is all the drunks during thirsty Thursdays. They can kind of ruin the game, however, it's easy to get up and move somewhere else.

Came here on a whim and a Groupon on Memorial Weekend. This was my first minor league game ever and what a fun stadium to check out. Just a quick hop over the state line and just right off 90 the stadium is convenient to get to. The Groupon gave us a chance to get two tickets for $8 and it came with $5 worth in concession cash. The fact that normally seats don't cost more than $10 should be a draw anyway. The stadium is so family friendly and for the kid at heart so many things to do. The seats are so close to the field there isn't a bad seat in the house. It is occasionally exciting to avoid foul balls because of the lack of netting. There are concessions galore ranging from the typical burgers and pizza slices to chicken taco bowls and funnel cakes. Don't ever worry about your kids getting bored. The mascots, especially Rusty interacted with the crowd and got the kids all riled up. There are stations catering to kids all around the perimeter of the park from the arcade, to the bunjee jumping, blow up batting cage, and playground. Don't forget about the activities catered to them during the game like the kid parade that allows kids to run across the field during the 7th inning stretch. Loved my visit, it brought out the kid in me.

I'd always passed the place hopping off of the skyway from Chicago but always thought it looked like a creepy, empty place that could be the scene for a scary movie. The place actually is bigger and nicer on the inside than I thought. Held our graduation well and there was more than enough room for friends and family. Parking was a bit of a hassle but with an event like graduation, what's to be expected? We got ushered out of there quickly when it ended. They didn't want the rift raft tearing down the last recognizable building in the city. *shrug*

It is one of two places in Gary to see a show (West Side HS would be #2). However, I've been to…read moremany shows here with positive experiences. All the big names/concert come here when visiting Gary. The city host their large events here, like MLK, Jr day. Overall the shows here are good quality for the city and the surrounding areas. However, I have also seen the Genesis Center used for major shows, such as the Ms. USA pageants that Trump brought to the city in the early 00's, which was top quality. So the Genesis Center can do really great shows, as the place has been kept up mainly due to the use of the Steelcats team. Yes, you are coming to Gary, IN for entertainment. However, it does not mean that you will miss out on receiving a top ranked experience due to the location. The Genesis Center is more than able to provide a quality show.

Second we sat down all you smell is weed and cigarettes so I went to Usher and as if this is a policy that you can smoke in here I was told no. I was told that they could not do any thing about it . But you was warning about my small purse In the first instance, I had intended to attend the Mike Epps show, but my friend's purse was excessively large. Secondly, the air was heavily scented with marijuana and cigarettes. Consequently, I approached Usher, assuming that smoking was permitted within the venue. However, I was informed that this was not the case and that the establishment had no authority to address the issue. Despite your previous warning regarding my small purse, I was not given any assistance. I give 1 star just to post

Drink prices here are through the roof (which is to be expected but still kinda annoying). I paid $36 for 2 cans of modelos. Most sections had no security so there were many people who kept seat hoping. It was mainly an issue for people who had front row seats since people would sneak into your spot if you left to use the restroom, to the bar, etc.. they'd move out of your spot once you returned but it's still annoying to have to repetitively do that if you need to leave for a short period of time. Overall it's not a bad arena.

We sat in the 300 level seats, so it was an option to order to your seat, which was very nice. The seats were excellent views of the field and scoreboard. Foods we tried: Polish Sausage- wow with the onions, yeah great Bulgogi Egg Rolls- just don't overthink it and order them, unbelievable Cookie Dough- ugh, not my thing, cold maybe would be better Sushi- great, cute, even comes with a vile of soy sauce Korean Dog- I did not try, but the friends said it was really good Nachos- GREAT, you can get them with the helmet Parking in the B lot was a breeze and you can tailgate, getting out, still a ton faster than Dodger Stadium!

Well, tonight we did not get 100 level tickets so we couldn't even go on the concourse !!!!! WTF? This is my 24th baseball stadium and I've never heard of such stupidity--- I guess you don't want me to spend my money where you have better food choices than crappy $5 hot dogs ( although I got an $8 plus Vienna one.. From a 4 star to a two star review. So, two and done . Too bad, great stadium and really cool fans but GO CUBBIES Second time here in 2 days. The good: *easily accessible by rail *dedicated and diehard fans (one youngest kid, mid 20s? And obviously has been drinking, apparently bumped into my husband, unbeknownst to him, and track my husband down about five minutes later to apologize. I mean, who does that? Very impressive.) *beautiful stadium/ great scoreboards with pertinent stats *awesome organist *huge 2 story team store with lots of merch and several life size bobble heads *dedicated first time game booth with certificates and button ( thanks Allie!) * What appears to be a fantastic kid zone, but if you don't have kids under 12, you can't go in. Keeps out the pervs and I respect that * Very friendly and helpful security/ushers/employees *lots of statues, history *several restrooms, kept clean with attendants right there *lots of food choices including perogies/ empanadas * Fun fan giveaways ( got my pope hat!) * the option to pay more, but they guarantees you will get a giveaway if you can't make it to the stadium early Cons: * so we are able to walk in with water bottles, but they took our plastic bag holding them for what purpose I don't know? Wanted to put our giveaways and dirty ice cream helmets in there. *the ice cream was terrible , and I rarely complain about ice cream * Not sure why you don't offer women's Jewelry such as FOCO, BaubleBar, etc. Missing a huge market. Same for Montana West and Dooney purses
