I am so deeply disappointed in the service and care of this doctor and his practice. First, they…read moreare behind the times. They gave me a ton of paperwork to complete as this was an initial visit for two of my three children. After 20 minutes of completing paperwork upon submitting it to the front staff I asked if I could make a friendly suggestion. I suggested that they put their intake paperwork on a website for new patients to download in order to save time at the actual appointment. Or they could have emailed it to me prior to the visit. During my suggestion the front staff worker began to talk over me stating that, "Yeah, we don't do that. That's why we tell you to come in 30 minutes prior." I said "I know you don't do that. That is why I am making a suggestion. And I find it quite unreasonable that a pediatric practice would expect a kid or multiple kids to stay still for 30 minutes while their caretaker complete paperwork. Fast forward, once I submitted the paperwork I waited for 25 minutes. I was sitting RIGHT in front of the front office staff area. They were too busy training a new employee to say anything to me about the ridiculously long wait. The waiting room wasn't crowded so I didn't understand why I had to wait so long. I very politely went back to the front office staff and inquired about the status of my appointment. She explained that the dentist was in surgery. I'm wondering why she couldn't have apologized for my wait and explained that BEFORE I had to ask. Then finally we are called inside by a different front office staff member who very rudely told my daughter that she couldn't sit where she sat and has to sit over "there." Well if she did her job correctly, and especially since she was the first person to walk in the door she should have immediately told us where to sit. Then she asked me when my son's last dentist visit occurred. I had an attitude and said I answered that question on the paperwork that I spent 20 minutes completing. I'm wondering "Why didn't she review my paperwork prior to us entering the room?" Then she started ordering us around. "You sit there, you lay there..." I said, that's not going to work. Both sons were crying at this point because she was gruff and has absolutely no bedside manner and clearly doesn't know how to work with kids. Then the doctor bursts in and initially tries to be upbeat, but it became clear that he was rushing us and did not understand the dynamic that had previously occurred. I had an attitude with the employee and she had an attitude as well. Then Dr. Ergas actually fixed his mouth to tell me that "Maybe you should have brought another person with you to handle things." My black sons (3 and 1 years old) were crying hysterically and nobody cared. I told him that that was an extremely insensitive comment to make. Then he started yelling at me (yes, he actually raised his voice at me while my 3 year old black son was laying down in front of him) and tried to justify his issue. He explained that he was in surgery... I told him 3 times "I don't have a problem with you, I have a problem with your front staff." He essentially told me that if I have a problem with them I have a problem with him and kicked me out. He stated, "You can go get care somewhere else because we don't need this." I then told my kids that we were leaving because obviously this doctor doesn't like to work with black people. I am so disappointed that I actually had to have my first ever conversation with my black 4 year old daughter about why some people don't like people who look like us. I am going to make it my mission to let everyone I know understand that Dr. Ergas and his practice are completely unprofessional and, in my opinion, have some severe prejudice issues against black people and/or those who appear to be single moms. He needs some diversity/sensitivity training as does his staff ASAP!

Dr Ergas greeted my child warmly & was able to replace the missing filling soon after examining her. What else impressed me was that when he was done, he painted fluoride over her teeth to protect them from future caries. He advised me not to let her eat or drink for 30 minutes & we were all set to enjoy the rest of the day. Dr Ergas was thorough, kind & actually quite adorable with my child. He is efficient with his time making her experience not only tolerable but, & I cannot believe I'm saying this, fun. When all was done, she got to pick a generous prize from the treasure chest & we were on our way. I will be scheduling my children's next cleanings with Dr Ergas & look forward to having a wonderful relationship with our new dentist.

I have not a single positive thing to say about this place, we…read morehave been going for a few years with no issues but there is no excuse for our last appt here. I have never met a more impatient and short tempered person who is supposed to be specializing in pediatric care, for CHILDREN, but has no compassion or patience for them. I find it hard to believe that kids from ages 1-4 are always easy to deal with, but considering my child was in my option averagely afraid and a little difficult as can be expected I think when this is not something they're regularly expected to do, and also the fact even adults have dentist anxiety and fear, the way it was handled was so unprofessional and harsh. Never did I think I would be basically scolded as a parent for their kid "being ridiculous and shouldn't be acting this way" and basically told to leave, and then they storm out of the room themself leaving me standing there in disbelief. No thank you! Will definitely be finding a different dentist. I would suggest looking anywhere else if you have any children who are less than perfectly quiet and still, because they clearly have no time to deal with it.

The dentist himself is a jolly fake dude, happy to always take in more patients, refer people on to get braces (when not needed) and barley look at your child's teeth. Why dr.Ergas doesn't fire his entire staff of reception and hygienist is beyond me because if you take the time to read reviews on yelp/goggle and Facebook you will see the same opinion as I'm stating here. The office staff are horribly unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. The hygienist have absolutely no idea how to work with kids, toddlers or teens of any ages without making them feel shamed and leave in tears. I left today with my three kids knowing we would NEVER go back, and felt like a terrible mom for having seen this place out for as long as I have. My 13 year old son was shamed for not having better brushing habits and told he must go brush his own teeth before they could proceed with the cleaning. That then proceeded with His cleaning to be done so roughly he felt he was chocking with the water put it his mouth at rinse time and at the end had blood all over the outside of his mouth- in the waiting room. He was told he was a "bad boy" for not being more cooperative in the dental room, yet he had shut down at that point from emotional abuse from this treatment by the hygienist. I'm not sure how to process this, or how these people are legally allowed to treat people this way. I truly hope this will help get the word out.

They have a policy in place that says parents are not allowed in the treatment rooms. They blame this on their insurance. I called a lot of other local dentist (pediatric and family) in the area when I moved my kids to a new practice and NO other dentists have this type of insurance? I think if this is the case they need to look for a new insurance policy. My guess is they just don't want to deal with parents (which in general is true all the time there unless they are taking you money). I am NOT comfortable sending my kid off to be alone in a room with people I don't know. I also have to say that the quality of care here is very low. The dentist pushed me to take my 7-8 year old to an orthodontist, which is ridiculously early. He hasn't even lost 1/4 of his baby teeth. Even after I said I thought it was too early he continued to hound he about it. He also wanted to have some of my sons baby teeth pulled. My new dentist said this is a very "old school" way of thinking and that most dentist now realize this causes more problems than it fixes. Both of my sons also had cavities filled that my new dentist had to redo because they had recavitied and were done poorly. Find someone else to care for your children!

He was in pain and in tears during the exam and saying "owie!!!" And squirming in his chair very obviously in pain. The dentist took the tools out and asked him if it hurt and my son said "owie" again. The dentist said "that's not an answer. Yes or no" then my son said "uh huh" very softly. And again he said "tell me yes or no". This is where I intervened. He is a pediatric dentist. Utterly ridiculous to treat a child that way. Honestly he made my blood boil. My son cannot recieve treatment there anyway because of an allergy but there's no way in hell I would have been trusting that ass with my son. He had the nerve to suggest that my son was the issue and should be sedated for the appointment. Well, when he got home and settled he was complaining of pain quite a bit so I looked in his mouth and the dentist had actually made three cuts in his gums, up high, not even over the tooth with the cavity but the one in front of it. And after he cut my sons gums up and refused to acknowledge his body language of pain and literal words of pain still treated him in such an unacceptable manor. I saw some other comments here suggesting he has a military background. Well, I myself am medical in the military, my sons father is military...hell my whole family is. I can tell you right now there's not one person in my clinic that would treat a child that way. That's not an excuse, it's just more of a disgrace.
