Your landmark is Solley Rd, There were all kinds of plants, a really huge selection and being late in the season, they were drastically reduced. On this particular visit, I wanted a Bay leaf tree. In addition to furniture they have a very good variety of plants and a huge room full of pottery in all sizes from little pots to 3 foot high ceramic pots in many glazed colors and textures. They also sell and deliver soil and a variety of decorative rocks. Alex is a member of the family that owns the business and handles the plants. She stocks all the usual annuals and perennials but also finds some new varieties that are very fetching. They also have a large variety of bushes from roses to hydrangeas and tall grasses. I say that jokingly because my parents are long time customers of the Wild Bird Center and they have a plethora of bird feeders and often discuss the flock of native birds that visit them. Have you ever seen that Geico commercial where the old lady is telling her son over the phone about the squirrels in the attic while he's being chased by bad guys on a skyscraper rooftop? Yeah, its kinda like that with my parents telling me about their birds at the most importune time. Anyway, I've digressed, significantly. In search of some bird feeder related items for my parents I visited the Wild Bird Center in Park Plaza for the first time in December. I am so sorry I didn't visit sooner. This store is fantastic! As the name implies, they have plenty of quality bird feeders and a variety of bird seed that is appropriate for the local birds. I was in search of seed for my parents' Squirrel Buster bird feeder that would attract little cute birds and not make a mess. The staff was able to immediately point me to the best seed for that scenario. With my errand complete, I then enjoyed looking around the store at garden decor, hand painted ornaments, wind chimes, books, and such, I think I might even have seen some bees wax products. As far as the staff goes, they are delightful and helpful! I really enjoyed their welcoming and positive spirit and all of my interactions with them. The outside area is a typical garden plant area, with a heavy emphasis on native and bee friendly plants (though you can also find roses, fall mums, herbs, and other garden plants). You'll find some unusual plants mixed though, like 8,483 different varieties of bee balm (I'm not really good at estimates, but that seems right to me), ironweed, meadow sage, and the like. Inside, there's an interesting "country shop," where you can purchase honey and beeswax candles, as well as preserves, unique sodas (Sarsaparilla, anyone?), and some fruits and vegetables. Being focused also on bees, you can also purchase beekeeping supplies here, too. All of the plants I've bought have done really well, and I really enjoy grabbing a cold soft drink, too!

They directed us to Traeger and that was just an entire joke. This issue has been going on for two months, but Brittany the Manager at Ace refused to give up on us. In a world with terrible service, Brittany was truly a star. She tracked down the Traeger Representative multiple times. When they were non responsive, she escalated to Ace's ownership and pleasantly surprised us. Not only did she drive all the way to Whitemarsh to get us a replacement unit, she also delivered it to our house with a new bag of pellets and a gift card. Honestly, her actions far exceeded our expectations and as locals will bring us back to Ace again and again. Wow! Thank you, Brittany!!
