    Christmas train set!
    Art T.

Disclaimer: Their original Davidsonville location is physically closer to where we live, and it's nearer/dearer to my heart for many nostalgic reasons. So, temper my review with this in mind. ;) That being said, I have zero complaints about this location. Other than... it simply doesn't have the same footprint they have out in D-ville. It feels cramped inside, and there isn't a lot of room for a cart or moving around too much. Still, they have a ton of gardening and decorating products, especially around Christmastime! We were actually here to see Santa, since we couldn't book him at the other location. But, I'm glad we checked it out. They have a Rise Up coffee shop attached too, which was convenient. Made for a nice little treat after shopping. I really don't have a lot else to say. It's still hit-or-miss as far as value is concerned. Some items seem vastly overpriced, and others are more reasonable. You'll pay more for seasonal items, of course, but check back after said season is over (or close to its end), and you can find some very good bargains. The customer service is on par as well. Very friendly staff who are helpful and approachable. Never had an issue with service at Homestead! Overall, great garden shop in Severna Park, and were it closer, I'd be a regular here instead. I love their holiday train setup in the back as well! (Though, again, Davidsonville has a LOT more space for a MUCH bigger display... but it's the effort that matters, and both deserve the highest marks!)

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) within the United States Department of the Interior implements a "Native Bee Inventory and Monitoring Program." This program designs and develops large and small scale surveys for native bees. Retail stores can signup to be a "bee partner" which allows the USGS setup identification tools and keys for shoppers/clients to understand their native bee species. Currently, there is an in-store popup of information--go see and read-up on what to plant, when to plant it, and how to help bees thrive =) Also, the Savannah Bee Company has a huge offering here. You must try their "honey for coffee." It is amazing.

Homestead is responsible for my plant hoarding habit. What a great store. Beautiful inside and out with so many plants, trinkets, clothing and rain boots... Unique and beautiful finds abound! I spend good chunks of time browsing every aisle. Plant varieties are the best in town. Succulents, Ivies, outdoor/indoor... it is expensive but worth the quality. Every plant we purchased here has thrived. Staff is truly phenomenal. Five solid stars.

Beautiful store with a lot of garden supplies and products to include indoor and outdoor plants that looked healthy, pots, planters, seeds, shoes, fertilizers, starter kits, and cute seasonal items for the designer in the family. They have a small selection of sauces, jellies, honey, and other food/snack items; there is a pet and BBQ section as well. You can pick up some outdoor furniture too. But wait, that's not all. There is a decent size gift shop in the back of the store as well. Everything was simply beautiful, and I had so many design ideas, but like many people have mentioned, they are very pricy. Always on the hunt for garden and design items, I have had the opportunity to do a lot of shopping around and know the value of things. I could not justify spending the money they were asking for items. I did buy one pack of seeds, but that was all. If money is no object, you will find many wonderful things to fill your cart, otherwise, you may want to keep it moving.

If you take a look you'll notice the overall rating of this store is based on some very old, outdated reviews. I don't come here often but each time I do I receive extremely professional and welcoming service. The store is well stocked, clean and organized. Although the prices are a bit high in my opinion, they do have some awesome merchandise. My dog and I visit each year in the fall so he can "pick" his pumpkin. They were super stocked today with a ton of variety. I purchaed (I mean Reaper picked) a large orange pumpkin and I also got 4 mini pumpkins, 3 of which were called "baby boos". They were so cute! The gourds were also quite unique. They sure had some funny looking ones.

This resulted in a price that was better than online vendors and backed up by the staff. They were also able to answer any questions I had -- helpful to a studious customer. I came back on Tuesday and put the money down -- they gave me the grill cover and charcoal they added on as freebies right then and told me the Big Joe III they had in the warehouse was mine. I came by on Friday with a friend's pickup truck, and two very handy gents loaded it up. They also gave me a bunch of tips for getting it installed at my house. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased. If you're buying a top of the line grill, do come to AOK and see what they have. You might be surprised at the price they can offer -- and in today's age, I find it comforting to be able to drive a few minutes away and talk to a person about a large, expensive purchase like this one. On another note: if you're sick of buying grills that rust ever few years or want a setup to take your cook outs to the next level, these guys won't steer you wrong. Beware, window shoppers...they will sell you and sell you well!

An entire, booming industry centered around decorative, dust-collecting stuff you can purchase so that your home looks like it was ripped from the pages of the Pottery Barn catalog and rivals any space on HGTV. And I mean that in the best way possible! Admittedly, I was kinda hoping that the old hh gregg would become a roller skating rink but I won't complain about another spot in Annapolis to shop for discounted homey stuff. HomeSense is owned by the TJX Companies, it started in Canada and it is purportedly nicer than HomeGoods. But even knowing that going in, I wasn't really sure what to expect. For some reason, I was visualizing the super voluminous size of an "At Home" store but HomeSense is pretty normal sized - lots of inventory but not overwhelming. However, I will say that the Annapolis size is considerably larger than the Columbia location. The Patch (an online local news outlet) noted that Cosmopolitan described HomeSense like "HomeGoods on Steriods" but I didn't feel that way. It had more of some things and less, or none, of other things. What surprised me about HomeSense is how much overlap there is with HomeGoods, which is just a few steps away, also located in Annapolis Plaza. Unlike HomeGoods, HomeSense carries more large pieces of furniture, has more rugs, has hard wired chandeliers and does not carry linens except throw pillows. Regarding the rugs, they have a ton of them at this location. If you need a couch, or a set of easy chairs or a grouping of dining chairs, I think there are some really decent finds here. I saw a chadelier that I liked but it was still around $600 so perhaps it is higher end than HomeGoods. Both HomeGoods and HomeSense have home decor, kitchen items, gift wrap and bags, framed art, mirrors and lamps. HomeSense has a "General Store" section that kinda sucked me in but it was really just organizational stuff and cleaning stuff. I think it's weird that the checkout is mid-store rather than near the door. I bought a big piece of art and it felt odd to carry it such a distance before getting to the exit. I must say, I don't think I ever recall seeing the parking lot at Annapolis Plaza so full!

Not once did anyone reach out to inform me of a delay, I had to continuously follow up myself. Each time I called, I was given different information, and when I asked to speak with my original salesperson, I never received a callback. I also requested to speak with a store manager multiple times and again, no one ever followed up. The lack of communication and accountability is extremely frustrating. Now I'm being told that delivery could take up to four months from the time I placed my order, which is completely unacceptable given what I was originally promised. Overall, this experience has been incredibly disappointing. The customer service is poor, communication is nonexistent, and expectations set at the time of purchase were misleading. I would not recommend this store based on my experience
