This is a family friendly place to dine at and it's also a sports bar. You would not think that at all as I initially thought it was just a biker's bar. They have daily specials and we love their prime rib days. They serve up a big and juicy piece of prime rib along with a side salad, steamed vegetables and a choice of baked potato or mashed potatoes. The Philly cheesesteak and Reuben sandwiches were both really good too. I have yet to try their famous fried chicken! Stopped in here after running some errands in Issaquah recently. It's always been a go to place for 30+ years. To start off the server/service was excellent, Kiara was great, very engaging very friendly. We ordered a couple soft drinks and the beef nachos. Which we've had the nachos in the past. For the soft drinks, ordered a Coke, got a Diet Coke, kind of a nitpick. As for the nachos, they've really gone down in my opinion, there was not a lot of flavor in the meat, or any seasoning or flavor in the rest of the nachos. The salsa was very bland, the guacamole had a little to no flavor. The place wasn't very busy when we were in there, quiet vibe, with only a couple of tables occupied, a number of the usual suspects at the bar. I guess we were hungry, as we finished the plate, but it wasn't very satisfying. We hope they improve the next time we're in there. read more

This place has been around forever, and somehow it's still going strong, which already tells you a lot. It's a classic spot, and still a great one. We decided to come in for dinner with our 3-year-old (important note: this is a pub that does allow children, so don't panic). You walk in, find your own table, and settle in. Once we were seated, things were off to a great start. Water and menus arrived quickly, and then, bonus parent points, crayons for my kid. Instant win. Anything that keeps a 3 year old entertained while adults attempt to eat a real meal deserves recognition. Foodwise, I was fully committed to the pressure cooked fried chicken, and my partner was clearly in a prime rib mood. For the toddler, we went with the obvious and correct choice: chicken strips and fries. No risks were taken. The service here really stood out. Our server was clearly juggling most of the restaurant, but you'd never know it. He stayed calm, friendly, and somehow made it feel like we were the only table there. Anytime we needed something, he was already on it. We even learned during our visit that he was moving away with his partner, so I'm not sure if he's still there, but if he is, you're in excellent hands. And if he's not, I hope his new place appreciates him. There are plenty of TVs to catch whatever game is on, and yes... pull tabs are available. My dirty little secret. Don't judge. I have a routine now! This Gaslamp Bar & Grill is in the same complex as my daughters gymnastics class. So I give her a warm sendoff and then my and my other daughter come here for a few drinks while we watch thursday night football. Somewhat of a divey feel to it but service is always friendly and down to earth. Most pub fare which is decent. Decent selection of drafts. The have multiple TV's but the setup is sort of weird so you're basically just watching from your tables. Never had a probably finding a seat though and there's an outdoor area if its warm enough to sit outside. I didn't see any TV's outside though. Decent spot to watch a game. read more

The food itself was flavorful, well-portioned, and priced reasonably enough to make it a go-to for casual outings. I did not find a lot of vegetarian options to choose from other than mozzarella sticks. We went there as a party of 5. We mainly ordered appetizers and couple of drinks. The ambiance lacked polished decor you might find in trendier spots. Dim lighting and a somewhat bare interior made it feel more functional than festive. That said, if you're in it for the game, the screens are plentiful and the energy picks up as the crowd rolls in. Due to the bomb cyclone we lost our house and ended up staying at hotel that's near Gaslamp bar n grill. I've always wondering about this place now I'm so glad I tried! It's quite big inside and it's very jolly feel with people watching tv, chatting ,eating and having good time. First time ordered fried chicken, blue cheese bacon burger with sweet potato fries, steak bites. Second time fried chicken, blue cheese bacon burger with sweet potato fries, steak bites plus prime rib salad and green salad. 3rd time we had fried chicken, blue cheese bacon burger with sweet potato fries and sirloin steak salad. Last night we had meatloaf dinner, steak bites and blue cheese bacon burger... lol I will have to say this place ROCKS! Fried chicken is so yummy !!! It's juicy inside, crispy thin skin and most of all not over salted! It's perfect! Boyfriend had the same burger 4 days in a row and every time he eats it and still raves about it's the best burger he's had. Salads I've had were amazing too. The greens crisp. Honey mustard dressing is perfect. Steak bites for our dog he literally inhaled it after I rinsed off the seasoning. The portions are quite generous. We've had take outs and it was quick and servers were all so helpful and kind. We really prefer this place more than some others in Issaquah. read more

Tonight I sat at the bar and witnessed a male server say some of the most atrocious things I've ever seen come of anyone's mouth at their place of work. He was verbally accosting the bartender after he was the one not following rules. He was yelling vulgar profanities across the bar at her while she was trying to do her job and he tried to involve me in the situation. It completely ruined my experience and made me extremely uncomfortable. I will not be returning ever again, especially if he's working. It sad to lose one of my regular spots. read more

We went there for a Sunday lunch. Food: ordered 3 different types of burgers. They are generally above average but nothing spectacular. Fries are little dry and so are the burgers. Service: When we entered through the front door, there were no one to greet us so we had to hang around and read the signs and finally sat ourselves. No one showed up until about 5-7 mins later. Service is OK but again nothing to write home about. Ambiance: this is a sports bar and so people are loud. We happened to be sitting next to a family that is apparently watching a game so they would be yelling when we were trying to eat our lunch. One of our bankers recommended this place so we thought we give it try. Would I go back there? Not really, especially, when we think about how tasty the burgers tasted at RAM for about the same price. read more

Had our first unfortunate incident at Gas Lamp last night. We dropped by on a Sunday evening after leaving an evening comedy special (Mike Birbiglia) in Seattle. We were in search of a fast bite and a drink - a huge deal in Issaquah on Sunday and were hopeful we could sneak in somewhere. We looked online and saw Gas Lamp was open until 9pm, and given it was 8:10 - we headed straight there. Walked in the door at 8:28, sat down and waited for a server. To be honest, I hate sneaking in last minute, but we figured we would order to go if needed, and easily exit before their closing time of 9pm. Had it been empty, I would have exited and let everyone go home early. Nothing like someone walking in before closing, in the middle of close out cleaning, to make everyone crabby on a Sunday night. But there were a handful of patrons inside, the cook and bartender seemed to be working away, so we felt we should be good. After waiting a couple of minutes - one of the servers sheepishly walked over and said "sorry - but last call for food and beverages was 1 minute ago". While he was pleasant - it brought me pause. Really? You mean the 1 minute prior to us sitting down? 8:27? Or 1 minute prior to us walking in? 8:26? While I get the strain last minute orders can place on a business, I also know that as a business, you make decisions everyday based on the customer needs. He then said they make last call 30 minutes before closing. OK - but that is now. So we can't order? 30 minutes before closing is now. Not 10 minutes ago. In fact, 30 minutes before closing wasn't even 1 minute ago. So before everyone jumps in and complains - I get it! You gotta have boundaries. But if you're gonna hold people accountable to the minute - you should start by holding yourself accountable to the same minute. Not bar time, not close to the cut off time, but actual time. And post the info on the website too. On the way out we noticed a sign that said last call for door and drinks is 30 minutes before closing. So while we were technically on time - I can see the potential frustration on their part, with us walking in at 8:28. In the end - we left and found another business willing to provide a meal and a drink - and we still got home before 9pm. No real harm nor foul. But it still irritated me. How many times have any of us that work in the service world dealt with folks walking in close to the end of business, and still provided service. That's what differentiates average service from great service. And tonight - we got average service. Disappointing! But it is yet another reminder that if are running to dinner late in our food desert on the Eastside, you should check the hours and call ahead as closing time might not be closing time. Despite a great first impression, my third visit was so unpleasant my husband and I will not be returning. I advise others to avoid the tavern, too. I've eaten at your tavern twice before this incident (my husband three times) and both times my server was Kierra. She was upbeat, helpful, and eager to answer my questions about the food and drink; anything she didn't know she said "let me go ask" and promptly returned with correct answers. This included me asking how many IBUs several of your beers on rotational tap had, which Kierra quickly procured with the help of the bartender. Her amazing service and the tavern's excellent beer selection is what led me to ask my husband to go back on Nov 21st. This visit (Nov 21st) our server was Issabela B. When asked what the IBUs for the hefeweizen on tap was, it was met with a "I don't know" and a blank stare. When I asked if she could look it up, I was told "we don't have that information" and told that it's different for every beer. When I stated I've asked and gotten this information on prior visits, I was told "[the beer] was not very bitter for a hefeweizen." After I stated again this did not answer my question, Issabela finally agreed to go look up the IBUs with the bartender. When they returned, they told me the ABV was 5.5. I pointed out that alcohol by volume was not the same thing as IBUs and Issabela said that "that's what you asked for" and went and grabbed a taster for the beer. At this point I downsold to a diet coke and ordered my entrée; I often get dessert and a second appetizer, but the exchange left me wary to spend and eager to leave. I asked another member of the staff if they knew what the difference between ABV and IBUs was, which they did, and they immediately asked if I would like them to inquire about the IBUs of a particular beer. I declined, but decided that I would call once we were on the road (we had to be home on time) and talk to a manager about how Issabela wasn't as knowledgeable as her coworkers and it was an opportunity for improvement. When I called and asked to speak to the manager on duty, I was met with simply "that's me." I started to explain what had happened, stating that when a server in a tavern mixes up ABV and IBUs it's frustrating and makes me not trust the products, your manager cut me off to berate me and rant at me. She snarled that I had been exceptionally rude to her staff, and if I wanted such questions answered to go to a brewery. Again, she emphasized how rude I had been (quite bewildering, considering I never cursed, raised my voice, called anyone names, or the like) and told me if I didn't like my service to not come back and find a brewery. She was so venomous that my husband was dumbstruck and kept gaping at me as he drove. Honestly, I'm taking your manager up on her advice. I have four growlers at home, and with the money I save filling them at a brewery I can buy startlingly similar burgers and appetizers at The Ram, where I also gain loyalty points towards free food. Or I can go to Wild Fin, which is one block farther away and their staff has always run back and checked IBUs for my husband and I without a struggle for assistance and derision from management. I also do love The Harp, an Irish Bar and Grill that's closer to home... and where I foolishly talked my husband out of going on the 21st. I will not be making that mistake again! GasLamp Bar & Grill was simply the closest to our weekly pottery classes in the adjacent building, usually with 10+ other students (new faces every class), 2-4 staff members, and additional walk-in customers. Since sessions range from three to five hours and many people are new to the area, the question "where's a good place to eat?" pops up regularly. Because of my lovely experiences with Kierra I used to point everyone towards your restaurant, but after the debacle with Issabela and your management I will be enthusiastically directing them towards Wild Fin or any of the other nearby restaurants. I love the decor of this pub and it seemed right up my alley. Taco Tuesday I decided to try it. Tacos were not terrible. But nothing spectacular. The chips tasted somewhat stale. The salsa. I am pretty sure it was Tostitos from a jar. My wife had the Cobb salad. It was decent. The fried mushrooms were great. The drink was not bad and had a decent pour. Overall. OK. I suspect anything fried is good. The other reviews complained about service. I thought service was great. I would not hesitate to try again. I've stayed across the street at the Springhill Suites numerous times on business, and have always wondered about this place. The hotel staff always recommends the Gaslamp Bar and it's within walking distance. The spotty Yelp reviews made me nervous, but my coworker wanted to try it out for dinner. Ambiance: Super casual. We stepped in around 8:00 pm on a Thursday night and it was about 35% full. TV's and jukebox were both on, so lots of competing noise but we could still hold a conversation. I checked out a couple of booths, and all tables were just a little bit dirty. There were a couple of nats or flies hovering over one patron on the other side of the room. He didn't seem bothered and was ferociously devouring his food. Service: I can't remember our servers name - but she was great. Super personable and checked on us a bunch of times She highly, highly recommended the burgers. Said that's what she would get herself from this place. My coworker and I were both super hungry, ordered our burgers and waited. Maybe 10 minutes later we were told they didn't have hamburger meat. So that sucked. Food: The appetizers (we ordered a bunch of fried stuff) were ok, edible. Everything tasted as if it came out of a frozen bag and was heated up. I ordered the steak salad for my entree and asked for medium. My steak was super well done, so it became really really dry. Though it still tasted better than the appetizers. Overall, maybe my review would have been different if we had gotten the highly recommended burgers. But transparently, this place probably just isn't my scene. This was close to the hotel and I was starving. Had I known the service was going to be that horrible would have gone elsewhere. When seated the server walked by the table 3x to say "I am coming to take your order". What felt like over 30 minutes and finally came and took the order. Main courses came out first and then the appetizers. Hate that when it happens. Sliders were tasty, the fried chicken was so dry and overcooked. The menu mentioned "World Famous Pressure Fried Chicken" and the only thing famous would be the driest chicken in the West Coast! At least the potato logs were really delicious. I can totally see why this place is a local favorite - lots of yummy meals and friendly wait staff! I opted for carry-out, but they do have a couple of options (in a tent or not) for outdoor dining. I didn't see an option to order online via their website so I called in our order. Arrived past our 20-minute advised wait time, and stood in line for awhile, but still had to wait for my order to be ready, which is both good & bad for various reasons. For a Saturday night, they seemed short handed. He had the Reuben Sandwich with fries and Potato Skins. Verdict - The sandwich is solid made with quality tasting corned beef and "delicious" buttery bread ; Potato Skins? Another solid choice! I had the Patty Melt with tater tots. My patty was a bit dry, but I think that texture is probably a factor from being carried out rather than dining in.
