The Old Fashioned Burger*
Narei K.

Cute outdoor patio/bar. Service was quick and friendly. The food.. the old fashion burger was decent. The pizza ... was EXTREMELY dry and room temp. Possibly forgot the sauce? And the dough it self was so hard to swallow due to the dryness. :( we would come back to try some appetizers and the beer selection. But man.. the pizza was unforgivable.

My family and I wanted to check out a local place for dinner so we dropped by this bar at around 7:30 on a Saturday night. The place was packed and we ended up having to wait by the door for fifteen minutes before being seated. I wish there was more space by the entryway because it made the wait so awkward. Our server, Kaylee, was super friendly once we got seated and patiently answered all our questions. She brought over every bottle of alcohol my mom and dad asked about and even let her smell them. The menu was so huge it was difficult to decide on what to order. My family settled on sharing the hot chicken wings in buffalo sauce appetizer and the triple pig pizza. Both tasted exactly like we expected and were flavourful and delicious. For dessert I asked about the chef's special which ended up being apple pie à la mode! I was super excited to order it and it was the best apple pie I've ever had in my entire life. Even my mom who doesn't normally like pie was totally obsessed with how yummy it was. We loved our first taste of this local restaurant and we can't wait to come back again to try more of their humongous menu.

The duck entree was really good The appetizer was pretty decent too Very busy and hard to get server's attention though

Woodland Fig Pizza

So many great sounding food and drink options in a very cool dining space. While not my first choice (my daughter decided), we went with the Woodland Fig Pizza... it was amazing, so flavorful but not heavy...pretty solid value at $23 as it was enough for dinner and 3 slices leftover the next day. As for drinks they have a very good cocktail list and an amazing selection of beers, I was so happy to order a Pliny the Elder, tough to find that in a bar. Only negative about Black Duck is its 21+ only, so I can't take my 17 year old son (unless I can find him a nice fake id )

Cheese curds with a blueberry jam dipping sauce and Hot honey sauce 10/10

Pepperoni cheese pizza, very good 9/10 only reason I'm not giving it a 10 is cause the bottom was not crispy nor has that crunch I normally like. But the pizza and taste was great well balanced! Cheese curds were excellent and tasted amazing paired with the hot honey. The drinks hit the spot very refreshing in a hot day! The service was good too for being very busy our server was attentive! Would definitely come back here again!

Metal of some sort, likely from a metal scouring pad

The pizza was good (tastes less like duck and more like the goat cheese but the flavor was still great) and the brisket dip was heavy, meaty, and tasty. But unfortunately, I can't recommended the Black Duck at all. Someone in our party forgot their ID so we just ordered to go, no big deal. As we ate on the nearby tables, one of our party bit into a metal strand, found in her duck poutine. The manager was apologetic and kind, replacing the dish and offering free drinks on our next visit. But metal in food? That's a huge problem, in any scenario. Had this been chewed too hard and cut someone's gums, chipped a tooth, or even worse swallowed in a hurry? Simply dangerous and not worth the risk. Sorry.

Duck Poutine

A delicious hearty meal. This is the perfect place to go to after a hike. I had a pear spritz, effervescent. We started with the salad, which was nice and refreshing, with butternut squash and goat cheese, The brisket dip sandwich was flavorful, and we enjoyed the fries, The duck pot pie was my favorite part. We received it for free, as our waitress misheard our order, as it turns out, it was incredible. Flaky, nicely browned crust, with tender and flavorful duck. We had the poutine last; by this point, I was stuffed and could only eat a few bites, but it was sufficiently rich and cheesy. (I had the misfortune of forgetting my leftovers box at the restaurant...sigh) I will definitely be back!

Bartenders choice cocktail

An extensive list of speciality cocktails and impressive beer list. Beers on tap and bottles and cans. Get ready to try and make a choice. It's hard. I started with the bartender choice cocktail who h was a blueberry rum yummy treat. The second one was a vodka, prosecco grapefruit flavored drink. Sounds weird, but was very refreshing. The pizza was alright. A very thin crust and the fig balsamic honey was delicious. I was hoping for a large pile of arugula on top. But nope, just a sprinkling. Oh well. Fun vibes here for sure. Friendly service. On this gorgeous sunny afternoon they got slammed, so the service was a bit slow. But really nice. And it's pricey. Be prepared to spend over $14-$16 per drink. The outdoor patio is immediately adjacent to the parking lot so be prepared to smell exhaust occasionally. I'll be back. Need to dry a cider on tap and the pretzels. SYOY!

This restaurant exceeded our expectations... we sat outside and had a lovely experience. My brisket dip was out of this world, and my fiancé really enjoyed his burger. I'm itching to visit again!!

My hairstylist recommended this place to me because of how good their deviled eggs are and that the ambiance felt so cozy. Well, she was right! However, I was disappointed with the entreé. My husband sadly agrees. Things we loved: - Devillish Eggs - they give you 3 different flavored eggs, 2 each. One i remember the most was the pumpkin because that was one we thought was very unique. Sadly I dont remember the other two but they werent terrible at all. - Drinks - my husband ordered the Queen Bee and Old Sage. He loved both, but preferred the Queen Bee more. - Black Duck Pizza - this was an exception. We ordered this to go so that we could have this for our game the next day. Despite us re-heating it in the oven, it still tasted great. We only wished there was more duck in the pizza. -Blankets ! - whether youre on their outside area or inside area, each chair gets a blanket to keep you warm. Plus there is heating in their outside area. - Service ! - great service. Gave us our food in a timely manner and tended to us when needed. Things that were meh: -Entreés - I ordered The Sasquatch burger because it had fritters in it so i was intrigued. Was bitter-tasting. My husband ordered the Brisket Dip. Thought it was okay overall (dip-wise and brisket-wise). The fries that came with it was garlicky and crispy though. Overall, I enjoyed it! Maybe will come back for alcohol and apps vs for dinner.

Pepperoni Pie

We had a good experience here for our first visit. Service was prompt and staff were nice. Would definitely give it a shot again when we're in the area. Tried the delirium IPA and it was delicious! Foods: Onion rings: super big and crispy, good flavor and the sauces were both solid as well. Pepperoni pizza: good size/topping amount and flavor, overall decent pie. Brisket dip: au jus was delicious and the meat was stacked high. Bread was a little bit dry, but overall would order again! The salad that came with it was great as well with fresh blackberries, just a little overdressed.

Formula Brewing is a fantastic brewery and company. Hosted my high school reunion here last month…read moreand Ed, Danny, and team were on top of it! With no minimum amount or venue fee (just 20% auto gratuity), Formula was the easy choice to host a large event - plus they have plenty of parking in the back! The drink choices here are phenomenal- they have a large beer selection but they also serve cocktails, lemonade, slushies, and other non-alc drinks making it a family friendly place. My favorite was the Tieton Huckleberry Cider on tap! They also make their sourdough pizza in-house and have vegan options too. Service is fantastic and all bartenders and staff were super friendly and accommodating. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of tables and benches. Dogs are invited in the beer garden :) Thanks Ed, Danny, and Team for a wonderful and seamless reunion. Will definitely recommend and consider you for the next big event. Overall: 5/5 for drinks and food, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

I ordered a cosmopolitan and the bartender Kate was the absolute sweetest. She was worried about not making my drink correctly but she actually made it perfectly!! I loved every sip, it was the perfect amount of citrusy and sweet! My friend ordered a blue moon and was surprised when the bartender offered him an orange slice to go with it. He said it's supposed to come that way but normally bars don't offer the orange slice. My friend and I stuck around for hours chatting with the bartender and some of the other patrons. We even played a couple rounds of billiards. I love the local vibes at this bar. If I lived within walking distance, I would honestly come here more often. The atmosphere is cosy and everyone is so friendly.

What a great dining experience after a very disappointing experience at another local Mexican…read moreRestaurant. We popped in here late on Mother's Day Eve. Got seated immediately, and greeted very shortly thereafter. Tony / Antonio was not only our server but also our mixologist. The place was buzzing but not out of control, a good mellow vibe of people. We had the Chicken Tacos and the chicken enchiladas (with Beans & Rice). Wow, what great flavor and volume of food. We really enjoyed our meals, and plan to avoid the other place, and spend more time here. Thank you!

Our waitress (who did not give her name) was not very friendly or attentive. She even interrupted and skipped my family member as they were beginning to order and asked someone else for their order next. It made no sense and was strange. On top of that she just kind of gave a "I don't want to be here and I'm annoyed" vibe. After we got our bill we noticed that some of the charges were incorrect. A kids meal order was rung up wrong, charging extra money for meat even though it was included, and a kids drink was charged as an adult. We kindly tried to explain that she charged us incorrectly and if she could please fix it. She started explaining that we had ordered the kids burrito not taco, even though we definitely ordered, she definitely inputted, and we were most certainly delivered a kids taco. She then said that we needed to clearly specify that it was a kids lemonade even though it was clearly implied that the lemonade was for a child. I guess that's on us cause we didn't say "kids lemonade"? Like come on... She was not kind or helpful about the issue at all and refused to fix the bill. We left frustrated and discouraged to go back. Be ware of the bad service if you're looking to dine in.

We chose the bar patio, which was cozy, fully covered, and set up with a handful of small high-top tables, making it a really comfortable spot to relax. The drink menu could use a little more detail, since none of the draft options were listed. When we asked about cider, our server checked and let us know they had a cherry pomegranate cider on tap. For beer, the options were simply described as an IPA and a lager, so we went with the lager. It was good, though we never found out which brewery it was from. We also ordered a mule, which was well made. For happy hour, we shared the half charcuterie board ($12), and it was beautifully presented with a great variety. We were impressed enough to stay for dinner afterward. We ordered the burger and the Greek salad with chicken after learning they were out of prawns. Our server also thoughtfully mentioned they were out of Kalamata olives in case that changed my order, which I appreciated. Both entrees were delicious. The burger stood out thanks to the homemade ketchup, which was especially good. The Greek salad was fresh and flavorful, though a bit light on portion size. Service throughout the evening was friendly and attentive, and by around 7 p.m. on a Friday, the restaurant had become quite busy. Overall, a really enjoyable experience with great patio ambiance, solid food, and warm service.
