Great shopping experience this evening. Looking for women's pajamas, great selection and the store was clean and organized. Almost made it out with pajamas only...but the checkout line is a trap. I found travel sized perfume and cologne, as well as snacks for our upcoming road trip. Our cashier Joanna was also amazing! This was my first time visiting this particular Nordstrom Rack. I was very pleased with my visit and walked away with a new Kate Spade handbag and a sweater jacket. Nice selections and great values! This is a good Nordstrom Rack. It's huge and always well-stocked. One of the best places in the area IMO for stocking stuffers and small gifts. Great shoe selection too. I do find that I shy away from clothes shopping here usually because there is so much stuff and it gets kind of disorganized and I get overwhelmed. Not to say they don't have good deals, I just don't have the bandwidth to deal with it. The lines around Christmas time are crazy long, but they have a ton of cashiers working and they go really fast! read more

I gotta say this Nordstrom rack is a bit overwhelming for me. I went in to make a return and the line was soooo long I was a bit intimidated by it so I figured I would shop around so I didn't have to get back in the line again if I were to buy something. It's a little hard to find people working here too like if you have any questions or need some help. I mainly go to the rack to look at the shoe section as it is the most organized area compared to going through racks of clothes that are a bit of a mess...I love the rack but I gotta say this one is probably my least favorite location in San Diego. read more

NORDSTROM RACK @ MISSION VALLEY Great spot that's easily close right off the exit. It's close by many delicious restaurants and has easy and free parking. I really enjoyed stopping by here as it however can get a bit crowded but there is a lot of goodies to find. I found a $16 beach towel that was great quality and on sale. Not a terrible store apparently to many, since it's always crowded. Busy and bustling all the time with long checkout lines too. This may challenge you as it does me. And also not the typical Nordie's crowd here either. Less pretentious maybe.. Everyone wants a deal or a bargain or some sort, don't we? As for me, I have never really found anything without paying basically full prices. They are discounted, so say the tags, but many seem overpriced to me. Example= $90 pants for $69, $60 shirts for $45. I have found some cool preppy Nautica shoes here at least for a decent price. This was one of the few good finds here. I feel like it used to be easier to find values before, and the last year or so not so much. But overall, anyways limited selection for me on everything as I wear common sizes. I Love this store. They always have great prices. They have a large selection of men's and women's clothing and shoes. You will always find good brands here. They have a small selection of baby & children's clothing, small selection of toys, jewelry & hair accessories. They had some Halloween decor for sale if you are still looking and they are starting to bring Christmas supplies out. The lines are normally long here but the line moves fast. Had to return and hopefully replace two pairs of shorts that are in his size, but the brand and cut was too snug on him. Not the conventional entrance I was expecting for this store. If you're looking to save a few dollars, Nordstrom Rack is the go-to store for Nordstrom merchandise and name brand fashion. See the pretty pink Free People loungewear in the photo? Well, Nordstrom Rack carried the set in Spa Blue. I purchased it, just loved it, I knew I would need more, but alas, only the top in Spa Blue was still available. Ok, well bought it! But I still needed another set of the lounge pants and Nordstrom Rack had sold out! I decided to Google search and although Free People's website marked this style as "no longer available" to my surprise, Nordstrom offered the same style in this gorgeous color. So here I am at Nordstrom Rack, picking up the set I purchased online from Nordstrom yesterday morning (Sunday!) FREE of shipping charges. Nordstrom prices from my experience will always be higher than the Nordstrom Rack inventory, and I am not sure how they decide which items go to the discount storefront, but possibly sizing or color overstock. The cute bloomers are made by Free People, work beautifully with the longer lounge top, and are generously sized. The pink top skims the middle section of the bloomers giving this matchup a very feminine appeal. These were for sale at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. Don't forget all of the accessories you may need to embellish your new looks:sunglasses, purses, makeup, skin and hair care and SHOES! Today there were so many shoes, and while looking for sandals I noticed a huge selection for women sized 10 1/2 to 12. Most were sneakers if every color and style in size W11. This place is run by scam. I purchased a blush and tried it. Then when I tried it, it made me look orange. So as per Nordstrom policy, you can return any item. When I came to the store they told me you can't return it. I wasn't even informed by the branch I purchased it from that it's unreturnable. The receipt even did not state it's unreturnable if used. The manager did not let me return it and I had to go to the other branch to return it. I'm not wasting my money on the trash makeup. I don't recommend this place for purchase. I had the most wonderful interaction with an employee last week and I have to give her the credit she deserves here. Tiffany, the manager at this Nord Rack, went absolutely above and beyond when I was mischarged for a jacket and only realized it the day I took the tag off and happen to wear it into the store to return a few other things from the same purchase. When looking at my receipt in-store, I saw the discrepancy, and raised it to my cashier. Tiffany came over and I explained the situation, and she said that she could adjust the price for me if I sent her a photo of the tag when I got home (without having to come back into the store, which was a huge help). She told me what time she was working until, and even gave me her personal cell for me to send her a photo of the tag to resolve the issue. I came home to see that the trash had gone out so I didn't have the tag anymore, and was panicked since I got laid off and every bit counts. I texted her to let her know the situation, and asked if I had any options. She was able to look it up and adjust the price for me, crediting me for the difference, and do it all remotely so that I didn't have to come back into the store. It took a number of tries to get my account info through her system, and she was so patient throughout it all. It honestly made my week for her to be so wonderful throughout the process and willing to help me with the situation. I've had a few bad experiences with Nordstrom Rack's customer service for returns in the past (e.g. they would only give me credit for a return when I had a return date wrong, and it was a very large sum, and a few others like that). This is especially disheartening because I am a really loyal shopper there and that is evident from my Nordstrom account. Tiffany was the opposite of this - understanding, helpful, and proactive. I can't say enough good things about my interaction with her. The Rack needs more managers like her! They says a discount store. Unless you're a very wealthy wealthy person, you cannot shop any of their designer clothes there. Absolutely ridiculous. Of course I like it that they're more organized now and they do have a small section for clearance lower price. I'd rather shop at Temu however their prices are going up because of the terrace. But I got in on the windfall I spent about I'd say $800 and I got a wardrobe worth by 4000. I decorated my whole house for under $4000. Now there's a company, it takes back anything within 90 days as long as you have the packaging. But the quality is wonderful. I got some of the best quality. I got emerald green evening bag just a clutch with a beautiful rhinestone clasp not as big as a 57 piece and I think it was $15 ridiculous. So don't go to Nordstrom's rack you can try Temu if there's still you know you can still find things but they are going up in price and I I had bought a mirror one of those mirrors and has it's fine on one side handheld and I got it for six dollars now they're up to 8. Every time I go to this location; and as soon as I enter the store, it smells like a thrift shop. It smells old used merchandise. I think the management should check their ventilation. Anyways, I noticed most of their merchandise are imported from ROC. Their pricing now is a lot higher than before COVID pandemic. Right from the jump, I was addressed with unnecessary behavior and snarkyness. I felt uncomfortable and targeted. Money can be difficult to earn. So it doesn't make sense to pay full price for something if you don't have to. Of all the stores that offer designer brands for less like Ross, Marshall's, TJ Maxx and so forth, Nordstrom Rack is my personal favorite. The store seems to have the best selection of clothing and shoes. I like the way that they organize the store. It seems to be much easier to navigate and search for the clothing items or shoes that you want. The store is usually pretty clean and organized. I am not a shop-a-holic, but prices seem comparable to the other stores for the most part. They seem to have a wider selection of brand names also. I like shopping on their website as well. The layout is nice and interface is user friendly. I like that we can return things to the brick and mortar store if there's an issue with the item(s) ordered online. Service here tends to be very good. Have never had an issue with purchases or returns. I ordered some pants from Nordstrom in Thousand Oaks CA but when I actually tried the pants on I was in San Diego and they didn't fit. I had some extra time that night, so I stopped in this Nordstrom Rack to do a return. I had to wait in line for a fair bit, as there were multiple people ahead of me and not enough staff at customer service registers to make it go fast, but when it was my turn, I was pleased with how friendly and knowledgeable the young woman who helped me was. I bemoaned how the pants were the exact same brand, cut and size of a pair I already owned, but the pair I owned fit me and these other three were all too small. She saw the brand and commented that this was not an uncommon problem with this brand. She was sympathetic and helped me quickly with the return. I didn't have time to do more than quickly scan the front of the store for interesting items, but what I saw was clean, well stocked and the clothes were attractive and interesting. It is a shame this location has gone so downhill! I don't have anything really bad to say about the inventory and cleanliness itself. The customer service here is truly APPALLING. At the register I was helped by Tamia. She helped my mom first, she was less than pleased and mumbled everything. Whatever, it was hot and crowded I get it. She asked for her Nordy number and my mom provided it. Then it was my turn, again solemn attitude. I don't expect cartwheels or even care for small talk or a smile. She blurted the total and I asked can I provide my rewards number? I was spending just shy of $100, I wanted my rewards. She scoffed and I gave it to her. Usually I'm asked to confirm my email or how I want my receipt sent to me. She didn't ask. When I ask she email it to me, she said no and handed me a printed receipt. Like? Excuse me? I didn't have the time or the patience to ask to speak to someone or escalate it further. Of course when I got home, my rewards number hadn't been entered. I've never encountered this at any other business or establishment. It really changes my perception of this store. Ah, the good ol Rack. The place to go when you want to convince yourself that you're not shopping at Marshals, but you kind of are. OK, that's not totally fair, but you probably get the point. In all honesty, Nordstrom Rack is definitely a cut above the discount stores that are more blind treasure hunt than reasonably pleasant shopping experience. While certainly not up to the standards of its rackless namesake, it is far more organized and functional than the discount stores against which it competes. If you're looking for good quality clothes at a fair enough price, without the upscale dumpster dive-esque experience two blocks away, Nordstrom Rack is a good compromise. While the majority of the store is taken up with women's clothing and shoes, there is an ample men's section, from which I have found many of my semi-beloved tee shirts, shorts, and jeans. Yes, there is a fair share of merchandise that isn't that desirable, but at a far less percentage than its competitor stores. On the downside, the store is not very exciting in appearance, and due to its popularity, the check out lines can feel like a Soviet toilet paper line, but if you can avoid the worst peak times, you can avoid this primary headache, Also, unlike Nordstrom proper, you will have to pay for any alterations that are needed, however, they do have onsite tailors, so you don't have to take your alternations elsewhere. Yes, these are drawbacks, but you really can't expect more from a discount store, and these tiny headaches are a fair trade for some fair clothes at a fair price. read more

Ok, so we haven't been in this store in over two years because last time we had to return one of the many items we bought online, the manager was so rude about their new return policy; we were so embarrassed we just left and haven't bought anything online from the Rack in over two years. I recently decided to give them another chance and bought a couple pairs of shoes online. Unfortunately, I have to return one of them. When I get to the store, I find out they no longer have a separate counter for returns, so I am forced to stand in the crazy long, line with all the Christmas shoppers just to return one pair of shoes. Customer Service could use some work. I had a simple return to take in and got there 10 min after opening. I was rudely greeted by one employee by telling me to go stand in line where it was marked. Hmmm, I am the only other customer here to return while another customer is finishing up her return and leaves. At that point, the cashier ignores me and starts cleaning her station. Finally, an older employee saw me and called me over. She was pleasant and the return was easy. Considering I got there just after opening, I see no reason for no pleasantries or acknowledgement as a customer. This is why I shop online nowadays.
